19-Jul-2010 - Dungeoneering Update
Jagex always seems to take a good concept, and ruins it with absolutely [cabbage]ty rewards.

A new pair of eyes with every order of dreadlocks!
Yeah guys don't get your hopes up. We've still got months until this thing hits the game. Just pray there is no developers diary, or else this update will be another 8-12 months for release. Intriguingly enough, something tells me somehow Jagex is going to ruin the economy with this update. I'm not quite sure how they are going to do it, but never underestimate their ability to fail. Perhaps they'll decide to increase the price and alchemy of Eye Patches this time. It seems fitting.

Looks brown to me.

The Fish-cession
I don't see why fish are so expensive in the first place. Ever since summoning the demand for P2P fish should have dropped completely. Anybody with a bunyip can survive on just cake they've stolen from ardy and anybody with a Uni can go without food whatsoever.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
I'm going to LoL when next weeks update makes needles sell to the stores for 50k each.

Time for a new boss?
We've needed a new boss since God Wars Dungeons. Tormented Demons are way too easy, and the Corp Beast's drop rate is way too low. With a 4-5 man team you can basically AFK all GWD bosses. The Corp is boring to fight because the point of killing it is to get an elusive rare drop, however those drops take weeks if not months to actually see somebody get one. TD's are like fighting a normal monster that uses prayer and switches combat. And any other boss...is not worth mentioning.

What have I missed?
If you played WoW and got bored of it, please do not play Runescape. Wait for Stellar Dawn, or perhaps because Jagex knows how to screw everything up, look into The Old Republic. But do not play Runescape. It'll be one of the worst decisions you make.

140,228 people currently playing online worldwide!
I remember when 5-10k players was a lot. I also remember when 200k players was normal. The amount of players on Runescape now-a-days is so unstable. Jagex makes way too many mistakes and fails to release wanted content. Jagex' single best content update in this game, ever, was the summoning batch 1 & 2. The skill completely changed the way Runescape was played, and brought so much life to the game. I remember, I had stopped playing for a month or two and when summoning came out I got hooked. However, there hasn't been a single update since Summoning that is worth while, even beyond all the small updates, nothing is making this game fun anymore. I think it really shows in the numbers when Dungeoneering came out. You would think that when such a big update comes out, especially for F2P, more and more people would come to play. Although, the numbers didn't rise much at all. It's been years since Jagex took away free trade, bots, wildy etc. By now we should have been well above the 200k players online. I believe if Jagex ever got some actual competition and there was an MMO that was accessible as RS, we would see the numbers go into the 70-90k's. However, because Runescape is really the only game of its kind and a big monopoly in the browser base MMO field there is no other game for people to go to.

In real life, shadows aren't static. However, chances are it's because of your graphics card and the way it reads the game.

Which Money Sinks Would Help Runescape Economy?
Actually, we DO have a problem with inflation. The problem is that cash is absolutely worth nothing. That seems like a big problem to me. A game based around making money, because money revolves around everything in RS. A game where money is the answer to how good of a player you are, because with money you can level up faster. And money is completely useless, and you're forced to use junk items and street price just to play.

04-Jun-2010 - Behind the Scenes June
It's always been in order of the BTS.

04-Jun-2010 - Behind the Scenes June
So they finally stop being [developmentally delayed]ed and bring back what everybody wanted, the BTS. However instead of bringing it out on a month filled with actual good updates, they bring it out on this month filled with crappy D&D content and a minigame quest. Jagex really needs to learn how to time things. Bring back the BTS when you've got some good content to talk about. The BTS used to be amazing because every month was filled jam packed with amazing content and updates that made you want to play. Trust me, look back at all the BTS' and you understand what I'm saying.

Castle Wars Improvements - Faithful Shield
World of Warcraft is fun though, while Runescape really isn't. Most people in Runescape absolutely detest the gameplay because it is repetitive and not that fun, however they continue to play because setting a goal and completing it is the fun part.

The new homepage
I'm so glad I lost hope in Jagex a long time ago, because if I'd still have been playing this game this advertisement would have led me to quit. You know Jagex is going downhill when their whole mainpage turns into an advertisement for a kiddy game and book.

The death of dungeoneering?
Well, the majority of Runescape's player base isn't used to a skill that you must participate in. It's not AFK, and you cannot leave the computer for hours because of the way it is set up. Not to mention the rewards are nearly useless, and once you've gotten the rewards you have beat the mini-game, so the only reason to continue to play it is for enjoyment. However, because most people would rather do something productive with their time rather than wasting hours getting slow XP they decide to use their time on other parts of the game. Basically, Dungeoneering is like Agility. It's repetitive with little rewards and is slow to train. The people who want to level it up for a goal or for bragging rights will, however the people who would rather spend their time doing something more productive will find something more productive to do.

Why is it that (seemingly) all higher level players....
Because it is impossible to AFK if you plan on picking up every coin drop. You have to remember that if you're actually playing Runescape, you're playing it wrong.

Cure for Tradable Rares
The discontinued rare market is what makes this games economy so diverse and unique. The most expensive items in the game do absolutely nothing for you, but create a great way to place your money. They make an interesting way to merchant, and gives investors a unique chance to gain money (because the price of discontinued items will always rise). All of that, and they give you a reason to continue to play. I do believe this is a slash thread.

13-May-2010 Fairy Tale Part 3 & DirectX Support and Graphics Options
I think you've failed to accept that Jagex has abandoned any sort of intellectual, mature storyline in Runescape. They have made every quest in this game with some sort of stupid joke, pun, or kiddie style to it. Didn't you know Jagex hires their development team from local Kids R' Us?

When does anyone leave?
Once they stop sucking, or perhaps do less sucking they are no longer a noob.

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Halo: Reach beta starts up tomorrow officially. Jagex couldn't compete. I call no update.

If you find that boring then why are you even doing it? If something isn't fun then what is the point. Might as well do something fun. Just saying.

28-April-10 Buyers and Cellars (and Thieves Guild)
This whole RuneFest fiasco is just Jagex' way of secretly turning this game into a Micro-Transaction game. First it starts of with people needing to go to a real life event, which costs money, to receive an item. Then it will lead to buying a ticket in a drawing in order to win an item. Next thing you know, Jagex will have their whole website flashing ads of girls with giant knockers, yelling "[bleep] on little boys, you know you want some of this" as she's bending over covering herself with nothing else on, and as soon as you click the image it flips over to a page with other girls, and in between their legs are the items Jagex has for sell. Trust me. Jagex knows how to screw things up, so don't let this fool you. Micro-Transactions are on their way.

Runescapes End?
With Jagex hosting real life events now, it seems Runescape has more life than ever. I don't expect it to fully die down within a decade, barring a huge shift in the gaming market or stupid decisions made by Jagex. Just because there is a real life event doesn't mean there will be anybody going to it.
