Runescape should be about fun, whether that means that you have your sights set on the most powerful/most money/highest level or (like me) you don't want to pay for a game to just chill out and gather some resources to kill time. I have fun playing by myself, occasionally talking to one of my friends who might come online. I'm in no rush to get another Santa Hat, this game is no competition to me. It all comes down to having fun. Cause if you're not having fun playing a video game... Then what are you doing?

This thread is a giant flame-war starter. Anyways, P2P get worked up when they see F2P "begging" for stuff or when F2P actually do get updates. Just cause some F2Per's beg does NOT mean we'll get the updates, right? And in all honesty, F2P can really cut back on the begging... The only thing that really gets my blood boiling is when P2P starts stating that: -F2P is worthless and we do ABSOLUTELY nothing for the game and.. -That x-amount of dollars is very low, so "why not just pay for it? You lazy/worthless/whatever/get a job/little kids." And the fact that whoever says that thinks it's the easiest thing in the world to make money, ignorant to the situation the player is in.

True you did not say anything about F2P being stuck up scum, but I've seen many members treat us as such. All I was saying that I'm tired of that happening. I'm not accusing you of calling us anything. Also, you contradict yourself by saying that F2P does not benefit Jagex, but in turn say that we "probably barely cover server costs". Generating ANY sort of revenue, no matter how small, would be beneficial to Jagex "as a company"... Plus, I'm sure Jagex doesn't have have ONLY one goal, which is to make us Members.

Instead of "honor", people decided to start using their advantages over other players. "Safing", "Praying", "Teleing" is now seen by quite a few people as "Hey, they just used an advantage accessible to them. Their actually USING their heads instead of taking it like an idiot." Honor PvP has died, so you'll have to adapt or just not PvP -.-

I doubt it'll be F2P though. I keep wondering how long some of the more aggressive Members will last before they snap because we're getting so many updates.

I wouldn't be so bothered by watching a 10 second ad if it weren't the same one over...and over...and over. Of if they weren't solely for FunOrb. Cause then it would actually MAKE Jagex some money instead of "Oh, FunOrb seems like fun"....having maybe 10 people sign up for it.

I see a lot of posts about how we seem to think that we generate massive amounts of cash. We don't, and we don't. It's as said, we probably barely generate enough money for them to cover certain costs. But it's still important for this game. Don't forget, we also have to sit through a 10 second ad for FunOrb (which helps with memberships there). So please, stop bashing F2P and treating us like some stuck up scum. Sure there are some [wagon] F2Per's, but flaming F2P because of that only makes you an [wagon] in turn. Back on topic? F2P will most likely NOT be getting anymore updates for a while, save the Christmas event. Then again, this year has seen a whole lot of F2P updates, and after each one, people have kept saying that we're most likely not getting anymore for a while. I remember that being said with the GE being released, not to mention the Runecrafting Guild.

I'm pretty sure that with all the ads we have to deal with, we're generating more than enough revenue to be more than "To get people to buy memberships." F2P is a necessity, and in more ways than you may think. Deal with it.

Oh well... I seriously doubted that we'd get another update so soon after JUST getting a quest. Just getting my two cents in before some idiot members start flaming you for "beggin for moar updatez lololol!11!1" Ya..

Okay so the event has ended and Maggie is now somewhere near the Legends guild. F2P can't go there, so I'm guessing that because the Broom is a P2P quest item now (All you F2Per's take a look at your quest lists ;)) and technically not a holiday item, we cannot get it back. So those of your who didn't get it or dropped it, I feel sorry for you :( Unless a F2Per who did the quest and dropped their broom has talked to someone and got it back. Cause then I'll drop my Broom xD

Honestly, why do pures complain? They choose to play the game a certain way, outside of the norm, and suddenly when something like not being able to wear equipment or not being able to attain the maximum difference in trade, they explode. It's totally your own fault for not being able to wear the ring. Sorry if I'm harsh, but it's true.

I'll repeat my idea: What if instead of the actual cape, F2Per's would be able to buy something else that shows they have a 99 in a skill? Like a shirt or some sort of shield. Of course, said things would give little to no bonus, but simply show that you have indeed achieved a 99 in F2P and want to show others.

Well one way to stop it for sure is to stop free trade totally. And then remove gaining items from BH. Setting limits on what you can get from skills isn't a viable solution, but setting a limit on how much you play per day may be... And I agree with Makoto as well ;)

^ He's right. And it's not like it takes a whole lot to get the quest point. Just go talk to the Knight and he'll give you a experience lamp and a quest point. Wow. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

It'd be no different from the recent update, as I see it. It just means people who could handle better graphics will play it. If it was still connected to the rest of RS, it might be a good idea. Moar Grifix!!1!

You know, for quiting Runescape, you sure are coming back here a lot. I would think that someone who hates Runescape as much as you do wouldn't bother to even use a related Fansite forum =\ Didn't you say this was your last visit to Tip.it? And there's no need to bash A local Guy's sig, as it's obviously a joke that no one here is offended by, as it would have been reported already. You know, he has more than 1300 posts, so he's obviously not offending anyone as much. But that has nothing to do with what happened to you in game. Saying a joke in game is not the same as having a joke in your sig on these forums. A joke in game is more likely to offend someone because it's filled with immature people, while these forums contain very few.

This is a little weird to me, but why in the world would you even try to obtain a Quest Cape even though you CANNOT STAND quests? As Omali said, you'll have to do another quest every week or so for the rest of your time in Runescape if you want to keep the Cape..

He's complaining about some Ads screwing up his gaming, not Ads in general. I'd say most F2Per's are okay with Ads though. We understand that they need to be there for us to play.

I'm sure Jagex will find a way to stick a few adverts into fullscreen for us. I don't care as long as it doesn't interrupt my playing... But I'd love fullscreen too, even with an ad or two.

You were never a pker.. You'll never understand. I'm kinda glad I never enjoyed PKing, because then I'd be in the same boat as you guys who can't find anything else to do now except Rant about it on forums. I have tried it, never liked it, so of course I'll see people complaining about it as pointless. I expect the same from PKer's who hate Woodcutting, if Woodcutting were to be changed enough for me to rant about it. What exactly don't I understand?

^ Agreed. People just won't accept the fact that the game is changing. I've been playing for 4 years strong, and I still don't feel like Runescape is worse than it was. Indeed I find it better~ The Ranters about how RS has changed are usually a minority, so there's no real threat to them :P

Oh well... you'll have to deal with it, as there's no changing it now =\

I actually agree with Eatrunearrow for once. If Jagex does allow for rare and powerful items to be lent to other players without restriction, then we'll only have a huge drop in prices...
