  1. Lep1423, you seem to be focusing on the financial limitations. It is without a doubt, that anyone owning a computer, with the time to play Runescape is able to afford $5 on membership. When it came to every other "excuse" you've hardly scratched the surface of it. [hide=NJE03 wrote]Not everyone is in the same situation. Believe it or not there are people who can afford to pay for internet access yet cannot afford to pay for games every month. To some this is a luxury. Remember, just because you are in the position where you can pay for membership does not mean everyone else is, that is a very narrow minded way to look at it. You may find peoples "excuses" as you put it to be "stupid" but the fact remains that not everyone has the amount of money equating to a meal to spend on games.[/hide] Not only that, but the first thing that you said was So, you think that F2P Runescape should not exist, thanks for sharing your thoughts on that subject, but this thread is about skill capes. What you seem to be trying to say is 'Why don't you just get members? It's quite affordable' however that's not answering the question is it? The question here is "Should F2P get skill capes?" but even then, I don't think that that title does justice to what this is really about. "Should those who put the time and effort into getting a 99 skill be able to showcase that achievement regardless of membership status?" In the end, I see much of this as an example of customer loyalty. Giving a little something to the player's who've spent enough time in their game, a little something nice.
  2. Escorting an NPC safely, there isn't anything that I can think of right now that's worse than having to safely escort some NPC.
  3. Since your not concerned about drops, then the fastest exp/hour is training on Giant Spiders (lv50) in the 3rd level of the SoS. Second fastest are the flesh crawlers in the 2nd level of the SoS.
  4. If you forget about the removal of the wilderness (almost this year) and free trade, it's been great. The only reason Jagex even game F2P those updates was to try to make up for the loss of the Wilderness and Free Trade.
  5. [hide=Quote Pyramid] Considering that you can make the cash by having varrock armor, I can repair the armor with almost no loss every two or three weeks depending on my combat activity. Read my post? Not everybody wants the constant expenditure of barrows armour for what they think is a small bonus. If people can easily make the money or not is beside the point. If you can make up the money for one repair in 1 day, then the cost is negated isn't it? 100 - x + x = 100 So yes, the factor of making up money IS part of point. No, it's not. You seem to be totally missing the point. EVERYBODY has the potential to make the money needed to repair barrows armour. NOT EVERYBODY thinks it is worth it, EVEN IF THEY CAN AFFORD IT. Honestly, it's not a difficult concept to understand. It's one of the simplest things I've ever read on a forum, but it's still going right over you head. [/hide] Um, you guys do know that the Dragon Platebody is out now?
  6. Funky, lol 8/10.
  7. Best exp F2P by far is training on Giant Spiders in the 3rd Level of the SOS. Second best place is the flesh crawlers on the 2nd Level(You won't need nearly as much food there either.)
  8. Over time, your sick mind overwhelmed itself with terrible fantasies depicting the death of others causing your skull to implode.
  9. Incorrect, Jagex did not create Corrupt Dragon as a higher level alternative to rune. Corrupt Dragon is, in a sense, Jagex's way of advertising members by giving us a taste of their weaponry. Also, F2P doesn't need any new stuff, especially melee weapons/armour. The F2P combat triangle is imbalanced enough as it is.
  10. Most of your rant is valid, except for the ending. First of all, since when did Jagex say that F2P would get updates(other than holiday events)? Never. So what made you expect Jagex to give F2P updates? Do we pay? No. Should we get updates? No. F2P is for people who enjoy Runescape as it is, and don't want the additional features. If you want them, you pay for them. As for allowing P2P items to be used in F2P, that's a terrible idea. The point isn't that half the F2P community isn't able to afford them, it's that members who can are able to afford them could bring them into a F2P world, ruining a new Runescape players experience (thus Jagex potentially loses a potential member). Also, why on Earth do you need more than 68 items in F2P? I've been playing for 2 years now, all the time F2P and never once have I come within 5 items of that limit. The fact that you call this an 'Injustice' is absurd. A company offers a free service and premium service, which do you expect to be better? Finally, 'sub-par' are you kidding me? Jagex offers F2P players the same support as P2P players. F2P getting less updates should be expected, it is Free to Play.
  11. As far as I know the rewards for killing the turkeys, and finding them are the same.
  12. If you want to kill the turkeys, you can find them all over (I killed mine at the cabbage patch). If you want to find the turkeys, you have to talk to the chef in Lumbridge Castle.
  13. Lol, it's just a mistake. I don't think that SC is even in a F2P area.
  14. It's only really helpful for people who use food that heal 7-, but other than that it's not really that helpful.
  15. Banned for thinking my avatar is red.
  16. Banned for being colourblind, and for thinking that it's an addy defender when it's clearly rune.
  17. Your wait is over! Jagex released it today(along with dragon claws)! http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem.ws?obj=14479 In case the URL doesn't work, use the Grand Exchange on the Runescape Homepage and search for 'dragon platebody'. *Edit:Wrote 'rune claws' instead of dragon claws.
  18. Yes, the skill cape serves as an icon, a symbol that says 'I have put the time and effort into achieving level 99 in this stat'. You might compare the skill cape to a trophy, an item showcasing an achievement for all to see. Now, what a shame that it might be if somebody did get a 99 stat, but was unable to show the world, and why? Because they don't have Runescape Membership. For all you members who view this as simply 'F2P gets skill capes' think of this: A member gets 99 in a stat and buys the skillcape. The member, for whatever reason, must suspend or end their membership. At this point they've achieved level 99 in a skill, and payed for months of membership, but tey cannot use their skill cape in F2P worlds. Either they keep it on, or can't wear it at all. So now maybe you members see how this might benefit you as well. Besides, don't you think that anybody, regardless of member status, should be able obtain and wear a skill cape, if they spent the many hours needed to get that 99?
  19. I'd say it's actually the other way around for the most part. If f2p couldn't buy all the trimmed rune armour there would be a much smaller market, meaning less profit for the clue hunters. I mean really, how many p2pers wear a form of god rune armour that can afford it? How many f2pers? =D> Good Point. If you're P2P, why buy over glorified rune when you can buy an abysmal whip?
  20. Balazeal replied to Cacmypants's topic in Rants
    Most accurate statement yet.
  21. Actually, if your looking to save money, stay on Karamja. Bring a tinderbox, axe, and lobby cage/harpoon and catch your own food. This way training won't cost you a thing. Train on the skeletons near Elvarg, not lessers. However, if you want to profit a bit at the cost of exp, then you could try mossies. Now, you could train on the Giant Spiders in the SOS, they definitely are the best thing to train on in F2P, however contrary to what Yomyth105 said, you will lose money. Spiders don't drop anything so the only items you'll get are the ones from random events. Although if you raise your def to about 60-ish plus, flesh crawlers are very good. P.S. Lesser Demons suck, at every level. I actually conducted a test, and on average, Lesser Demons brought in about 10k exp less (per hour) than what I got from training on the giant spiders.
  22. I don't think that it's necessary to supply arrows/bolts. Just like melee, you use what you bring in. y did they even put runes in then...they could have just made it so u could bring runes in and u wouldnt loose any If Jagex had supplied you with arrows/bolts that you had to use, then your damage potential would be capped. When it comes to magic however, your damage potential is based on your magic level (the range of spells you can cast) and thus is not limited by the equipment. Because of this, we can be given runes and not have our damage limited.
  23. I don't think that it's necessary to supply arrows/bolts. Just like melee, you use what you bring in.
  24. Not needed, we're fine with what we have (Besides, why would you want to pay even more for crap robes like Mage (G)? The skirt doesn't even do anything.)
  25. That actually might have been me (http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=744175), although I'm sure numerous other people have suggested this before.
