  1. We all differ in our appreciation of humour. Hence people find different things funny. Hence some people liked the list, some not.
  2. A lot of the skill in runescape comes in the form of the more cerebral forms of skill found in organizing and planning. But there are also more immediate forms of skills such as needed for PKing or bosshunting. I can tell you that I read a guide on doing bandos. I checked my stats were well within the comfortable range, I was wearing the proper equipment and inventory. I go there and can't manage to kill him once. I have to teleport out in the end. I was lacking the skill needed to kill him. Simply clicking wasn't enough. I needed to hone my skills first. In conclusion, I like runescape because of its specific set of skills required. And in this respect you can go quite deep with runescape if you want to.
  3. Not to mention all those nats from monster drops/randoms/etc... Yup, prolly about 5-10,000,000,000 nats in circulation... prolly even more  but since Nats are constantly being used up (alching, other spells), there might not be 'that' many nats in circulation.
  4. it looks nice if you are into axes. that's the best you can say probably about it.
  5. From that perspective it is probably better to do them in a relatively short time period. Also I can currently know where to find several NPCs without having to look them up. I did get re-acquainted with the world of runescape doing so many quests in a short time period.
  6. I noticed one little real problem while doing quests. They generate 'junk'. Many quests give some kind of weapon, necklace etc that can be equipped. It seriously threatens my bank. And then there are the myriad of quest items you need for future quests. Luckily some can be easily obtained, but some not. I already had to destroy my outfits again (only low level in construction), because I was running out of bank space to make space for quest items. And then there is a the temporary need for bank space because quests constantly demand the same set of items. Doing fine btw. 261 quest points at the moment. Holiday is over. I am going to take it down a notch and do a quest once in a while till I can do tormented demons. I guess I can organize my bank again once I have done all quests, or at least tormented demons, but still. Jagex shouldn't create game junk without increasing the bank space. and on a side note; I was just wondering if they couldn't just create a bottomless pit where you could dump your junk that clutters the bank (quest reward ;) ) and where you can put in, and retrieve an item by doing some kind of minigame.
  7. for iron dragons accuracy is probably rather important since their defense is high.
  8. meleeing them is definitely faster than ranging if you use super pots. On average I do a single iron in 45 seconds.
  9. I hate quests. In the last 4 days I went from 176 questpoints to 252 questpoints. I had set my mind on tormented demons. I'm still not there. But it is the only reason I am doing the quests. After doing so many in such a short timespan I still hate quests. Not a single quest has changed my mind. The nicest one was "in pyre need", because it was so short. "Meeting history" was interesting somewhat. There was some interesting information in it on the early days of runescape. Some are slightly interesting, mostly they are just pointlessly running back and forth. The quests that provide the items needed during the quest are slightly more tolerable than those that do not. I did level 20 levels or so in those 4 days of questing. That was nice Simply by applying the experience books and lamps to skills I don't like. I still have some quests to go before I reach 275. And I am not sure I have enough energy left.
  10. 'purple sweet thingies' are actually quite nice items which sell for a decent amount of money. Currently selling for 1,725 GP each on the GP. Together with your battle axe you had a decent normal clue reward. 14 purple sweets: 24.150gp Rune b-axe: 24.900gp 12 lobbies: 3.492gp total: 52.542gp That is quite a normal clue reward. Not a bad one.
  11. That was just a "low" level update. It doesn't add anything to the end game content. Don't bicker whether it's low or not. Fact is, it's not quite the highest level slayer monster available. Aquanites. I would like to see a low level player do them with ease. Slayer helmet. Helped me a lot as a high level slayer/player Slayer rings. Helped me a lot as a high level slayer/player. Slayer points: I see them as a decent medium source of income for me as a high level player/slayer. As I said before as a high level slayer. I can't even do the level 90 slayer monster. Yet, I see the recent updates as a good update for low and HIGH level slayers alike. If an update benefits both high and low, the criteria is met for 'content' for higher players. I am not seeking for exclusivity. To put that as a requirement is just plain silly.
  12. to be honest I think slayer is quite ok at the moment. We recently had a major update. I'm currently at 97 slayer and don't really miss a 'high' level slayer monster. Ironically I never even did a dark beast because I never did the quest. So I had nothing new since Abyssal demons. Well, not entirely true, we recently had the addition of mudkips/aquanites.
  13. If you don't have 68 summoning guthans is the only sensible choice.
  14. The water fiends in the Chaos tunnels will even kill a maxed player. DO NOT GO THERE!
  15. As an f2p'er I started with mining and smithing. Many people do on f2p. They were my highest skills for a long time. I only started to do proper combat leveling on p2p.
  16. At peak hours I just go to GWD to do bloodvelds. You can cannon them also at the blood altar I think, but I never did the necessary quests.
  17. Typical. After 4 aquanites tasks I finally get a ranging ammy drop. When it is crashing.
  18. I did now 10 treasure trails. 2 rewards were 400k+ 1 reward was 1.6M+ rest was 20-60k. not so bad.
  19. My internet alter ego is 'spuriousmonkey'. that doesn't fit. 'Spuriousmonk' does fit and kind of is more runescap'y due to the reference to a 'monk'.
  20. hmmm... i noticed that 1800 total levels is considered to be 'low' in this thread. It took me several years to get to 1817 total level, and I happen to have a relatively high combat level (132), but that is only because I have concentrated on the skill 'Slayer'. I find 1800 total level high. Because it took me so long and I spend so much time getting this far. Slayer is my highest 'skill' skill, besides cooking (80) and herblore (78). I wouldn't consider myself a skiller or a combat orientated player. I just play runescape. I tend to take breaks from slayer to level other skills or do quests, but never too long.
  21. i even pick up the stuff other people don't pick up.
  22. You can, if you don't cannon too much, and collect loot religiously. To speed things up I strongly recommend farming herbs on the side, or some other none-time consuming activity that makes money.
  23. If you don't cannon you make quite a lot of money, especially with your melee stats. There are only a few tasks that don't bring in money. Also slayer points are a good money maker. I still have 2000+ slayer points at the moment. I'm saving them up at the moment because the slayer loot is currently paying for the cannonballs and I don't need any special equipment at the moment (most cannoning in ranging void currently). But to be honest I assist my income (when I really want something) with farming herb seeds and MTK. But I couldn't give you an hourly income. I don't keep track. I also keep half the herbs from slayer drops for my own herblore leveling.
  24. I'm not rich at all. I have of course the usual gear: bandos, sgs, dfs etc. But only 10M in the bank. It's a steady income, but not really something that will bring you riches. I could have more money, but I decided to cannon the last 5 levels. I only have 68 summoning, and 80 prayer (but 9k Crimsons in the bank at the moment). Clearly not stats of a rich person.
