  1. sounds all very elitist the way you describe it.
  2. Dunno, Frostenhorn seemed quite easy to me (cb 134). I hit quite a lot of misses with a whip, but he didn't hit me very bad at all. I liked the quest though. It was relatively easy. Luckily I already did most of the kudos for the varrock museum that I needed. Then it was just a barrows run, and the frostenhorn. It didn't take very long. I like the dialogue though. Maybe there was a glitch though. I prayed at the altar and I got 92 prayer (instead of normal) 80. But later I just had my normal prayerbook with 92 prayer. Not the new one. Don't know why. Thumbs up for the quest though. It was an enjoyable experience. Interestingly the entrance to the ice fortress was infested with revenants. I guess the region had seen a lot of activity. So I had a bit of a hairy moment because I was wearing bandos and other good gear.
  3. I'm 39 years old. To me WoW seems childish. Runescape has a nostalgic feel to it. That's why I like it.
  4. avantoes can also make super energies, which can be turned into recover special pot. I am getting the impression that the herb market is slowing down a bit at the moment. Maybe people are changing their focus from herblore to prayer at the moment.
  5. ouch, I am having trouble keeping up with the updates. I am still trying to raise herblore.
  6. I just loved the SGS for slayer. I did a few levels without it (sold it to pay for 88 summoning), but didn't like it at all. In hindsight I rather have an SGS than 88 summoning for slayer. And of course I just made a bit of money and bought a new SGS (didn't spend it all on summoning of course ;)) Bunyip heals? Of course, but SGS also tops up prayer for free and heals. And if you use a bunyip as well, some tasks just become so much easier and faster. Guthans heals? Of course, but who wants to carry around full guthan all the time?

85 defense? Pray them. I always tank them. But tanking isn't really tanking. It is semi-tanking. I wear bandos, SGS, slayer helmet, d boots, fury, trimmed slayer cape ;), RoW. You can use either bunyip or unicorn, with the sidenote, that a unicorn burns up so many unicorn scrolls that you could just as well pray the whole thing. What you do is very simple. You superpot (att, str, AND def). You step in. You kill them. When the dark beasts get lots of lucky hits, you turn on protection prayer. You use your SGS and bunyip to top up health and prayer. This sometimes takes a while. When you are in fine form again, you turn off protection prayer and hope you are a bit more lucky now. You see, sometimes you can have quite long lucky streaks where they are hardly hitting you. Of course, you can also use verac top and skirt for extra prayer bonus. Makes the use of prayer pots more economical, but to be honest I can't even bothered with it. Why not whip and DFS? I did a small test and in it I noticed that SGS was slightly faster than whip and DFS. And it has a better prayer bonus. But do it the way you want to. Doing the semi-tanking method you save quite a lot of prayer pots. And i find it more stimulating since you have to pay attention and make small strategical decisions. To pray or not to pray. And occasionally they drop a shark or two which are also used for healing.

The fastest 88 I ever did was summoning. If you have the charms summoning is pretty fast. Hope you have a deep pocket as well.
  9. To be honest I liked it better when my slayer monsters were limited. I had a lot more nice tasks before I got 275 Quest points. I definitely got a lot more abyssal demon tasks. I couldn't even do dark beasts till 96 slayer.
  10. Hell hounds become tolerable when using the cannon. Otherwise it is a bit of a grind. I can't say it really bothered me that they don't drop anything, because at one point in in the long way towards 99 slayer you stop worrying about drops all together. At least that was the case for me. Overall, there were always plenty of drops that kept me funded so who cares some tasks have bad drops? I didn't. I loved black demons, either semi-tanking them or cannoning them. Long tasks but nice amount of crims and good experience. i blocked myself: steel dragons kalphites (I got fed up with finding a free world). Wyverns
  11. Slayer points will also give income.
  12. slayer ring also teleports (slayer tower entry) nice and close.
  13. if you go and range aviansies you will even make a big profit.
  14. I thought you never get extra runes at ZMI.
  15. when i don't want to concentrate on runescape i do some vine woodcutting.
  16. at one point you have so much money you don't know what to do with it. And then you buy a DFS. I actually used it a lot during slayer. A lot of tasks that most people pray, become tankable with a DFS.
  17. it's really easy go get vials nowadays. It means it isn't worth buying them on the GE any more. It means lots of people are dumping vials on the GE. It means a price crash.
  18. It's so easy to make money nowadays. I remember when 10k was a lot of money, or 100k. I was walking around in adamant platelegs because I couldn't afford runelegs and people were making fun of me. Nowadays on a typical slayer assignment I have 100M+ worth of equipment on me. You can make 120k each day in 2 minutes by just buying unfinished broad bolts from a slayer master. No skill required. I did barrows for 1.5 hours the other day and got 7m+ in loot. Already spend it on herblore of course. Chin up. Making money is not difficult nowadays. It just takes a little bit of effort and time.
  19. +1! I always did slayer my way, constantly developing my methods and approaches. Lots of times it was inefficient. I didn't even have guthans till I hit 80 slayer (summoning didn't exist yet, guthans was more expensive than I could afford). Slayer is a long term skill and it is supposed to be fun. The most efficient methods aren't always the most rewarding.
  20. You can also semi tank black demons. Use bandos (or verac pieces) and whip/defender/DFS or SGS and the usual stuff for melee. Use bunyip (cheap) or unicorn (expensive with scrolls). Put protection prayer on when HP sinks below pre-established safe level. Let your bunyip/SGS heal you. Put prayer off. Be lucky. Sometimes there is a bit of an unlucky streak where they keep hitting you, but also you have just as many lucky streaks when they never seem to be able to hit you. You safe a lot of prayer pots though by semi-tanking. Works fine on most monsters that are traditionally associated with protection prayer, such as dark beasts and iron dragons. You need good stats though. And superdefense pots. But I like to just cannon them (except that I sold my cannon).
  21. DK's, sometime before RuneTek5 came in. I admit I rarely go boss hunting as I don't enjoy it that much, however when I do there will always be someone to bless my grave in the 0% chance that I die. Always keep your HP up, pay attention to what you're doing, and have a good internet connection. Obviously if you had a powercut then there's not much you can do. Most people that i've seen die in GWD think "oh they'll never hit that high on me", and then get splatted by a few hits in a row and collapse. Almost funny. Oh and if you're really messing up, use a house teletab. You can always start a trip again. Tbh with gravestones Jagex pretty much elimated any real risk in the normal monster killing game. What's the point in dangerous monsters if you can just run back within 5 minutes and pick up all your gear again. My friend did not bother to go back and get his items back though he had 5 minutes. Why not? Because he wouldn't get it back. 1) Time won't allow it (and if you don't have a back up GWD equipment in case of death your pretty much done for timewise) 2) When you manage to get back to your grave, how will you survive? Zamorak boss will really wreck anyone apart if they are after getting their items back from grave (If your alone) and getting items back at Zamorak is a huge risk itself. Saradomin boss will also be as deadly as Zamorak, Bandos less and Armadyl takes far to much time for KC. Also GWD bosses>Higher risk but also higher reward. So i do not see how Jagex elimnated real risk. KBD, KQ and so on drops very lame items. Even if you die and run back to those type of bosses i am positive you will have trouble. Less than GWD bosses, but still trouble Isn't GWD supposed to be risky? As in it is designed this way.
  22. Runescape isn't the world. It is a game.
  23. I don't really care if Jagex is making wrong decisions. The only thing that matters is whether I enjoy playing runescape and are willing to fork over 5 every month to enjoy the experience. And I do. And this is the bottom line. Whether I enjoy the game or not. And whether you do or not.

90 slayer will give you so many points that you can get all abilities and still have a full load of points for exchanging for slayer dart runes. 1. slayer helmet 2. slayer rings rest whatever.
  25. definitely cannoning them in taverly/members dungeon. It's not a multi zone so you have to keep at a safespot between loading up the cannon. A task goes really fast.
