So, you're saying they use something like, what - swiftkit? Swiftkit doesn't load ads? I'm lost here, and I really don't understand. :mellow: SwiftKit used to bypass RS front page and you could click straight into a world. Now you click 'play' and go to the front page where you have to naviagte it and find the world you want - HENCE viewing the adverts on the front page AND the world page. Bots go straight to a world - Dont see any adverts at all. I know that, for example, as I use the RS client from Jagex, that if I log into an F2P account, I see advertisements. But a bot doesn't use ANY kind of browser/app that shows advertisements at all? Why would they? They're already cheating, it'd be silly for them to put in adverts! :P

Well this is quite worrying news, it's clearly easy to scam this game. I hope you don't mind but I'm thinking of taking some of the info here and turning it into a Did You Know for the Times this week, about how rings can effect the outcome of this 'game'.

I believe we can take these figures as not a totally accurate, but a reasonable approximation of how many bots are on at one time. I logged in yesterday, a few hours after the update, and Catherby was empty. EMPTY. I think we all know why that is. The figures show a disturbing fact for us about Runescape, an alarming number of people are choosing to bot and SOMETHING needs to be done about it. Seriously.

I'm lost here, and I really don't understand. :mellow: From what I've heard about it, they use some sort of client which just wouldn't have ads on, like how you can download the SwiftKit client or Jagex's official client to your computer.

I didn't mind the old lobby, but that's very sexy :D

It's not even totally about the Wilderness and it's the first one really since 6th Feb (unless you count the bot articles of the week after). Just as discussion about the old wilderness often found itself in articles, discussion about the new wilderness will too. It's a pervasive part of the game, even more so is Free Trade.

The community completely rejects the idea of private servers as they are against the rules ;)

It's been referred to in the past by many JMods, I can't remember when it was first mentioned but probably in some Q&A. It's sort of been common understanding that there IS a smithing rework/update/SOMETHING coming SOMETIME but... alas... :(

What I put forward is that not all lolicons are paedophiles and not all paedophiles are lolicons. They're rather different things and I've never seen any real proof that lolicon images do lead to actual paedophilic crimes.

If what you said was true then games and forms of gambling (on-line or rl) would not be subject to age restrictions. Organisations have restrictions on what they can and can't do. That's life and the laws state it. That's the core of my objection so if you don't understand it then its the rules and regulations you have a problem with, not me. I don't expect you to agree with what I say at all otherwise debate wouldn't be as fun as it is. It's not illegal to play poker with in-game currency. Hell, the MMO Puzzle Pirates has very popular Poker tables, which anybody can use, that you use in game currency for. It's not real money, just like how the Flower Game isn't illegal, it's placing bets. It's not illegal, because you're making it sound like it is. Of course they wouldn't put Poker in Runescape but I'm saying it would be a fun idea, Poker isn't some evil thing. It's a fun game, that's all.

Gold ore is still pretty cheap, I've been powering through some Smithing levels over the last few days. Will cost a bit but if you sell the bars then the impact won't be too huge, just take it one level at a time :)
