The 2010 slave auction was postponed until we heard more about the free trade. I imagine it should be soon after the 1st Feb, when it's released :D Tif only has slave auctions once a year though at Christmas Time. We also still had them last year and the year before but the money was instead put in a drop party.

Sorry if this has been repeated but: Did you, as most people suspect, start work on this Free Trade & Wilderness update BEFORE even doing the poll? I highly doubt that this massive, game changing update can be organised, done and QA'd in 2 weeks.

I wouldn't be surprised and in fact I'd probably say it would be very logical for them to do so. It's just way too easy as it is now. Perhaps make the wolf more like present bosses (lower combat level and with distinctive attacks) and make them all instanced? Or you could even make them like the old random events, with the combat level based off the player's combat level. Randomly when playing Runescape, you'll get jumped by the wolf and only you can attack it. This way players can't actually go out and hunt for it, but since they have 4 weeks to get a single encounter... Pretty reasonable, the present boss have a lower level just because their hp pool is 10x lower. Half of nex's combat level is HP, Jad would easily go over 900lv if it have 20k hp as well. Anyway, is training combat on this wolf feasible after the hype? It doesnt seem to have high defence but does hit hard like a rev. I don't think it gives any combat exp, that's what everyone was saying when I was killing it. Well it's pretty easy to see, just look at the xp counter ;)

It's still a thousand times faster than creating new content from scratch, moreso in a modular programming language like java. True, I won't deny that. It's just not AS straight forward as some believed it to be. Working with objects in Java is not the same as "copypasta this copypasta that" or "change this variable from RESTRICTED to FREE". I honestly think that some of you believe Jagex can copy and paste the safe PvP minigames to where ever they want to. This update will affect almost all of the game, and, like someone mentioned earlier, I hope they spent more than 2 weeks coding AND testing on update of this magnitude. I definitely agree. You have no concept of coding on such a huge scale if you think it's so simple. Of course some of the basic ideas will already be written for them but because RS has advanced so much since the code was used, it's going to be outdated and frankly just wrong. I'm damn sure on every level that there's no way Jagex has just started coding for it, otherwise we wouldn't see it for another few months.

If they're just raw recorded video from fraps then they're just a bit uncompressed, is all. Removing them just makes space to save more things, it won't increase the speed of your computer. There's a useful tool called ccleaner which can get rid of junk both to free up hard drive space and often to improve the speed at which your computer runs. Keeping a clean computer is key to keeping a fast one working fast :)

With a team of hundreds of content developers? It can be done in 15 days. @ Riemis 1. Over 100 developers working on it. 2. They have lots of the code 3. What are your credentials in saying it can't be? They don't have over 100 developers working on it, I don't even know if they have that many developers at all. I know they have so many employees but a lot won't be content devs. The code is probably going to need to be changed quite a lot, though the basics might be the same the intricacies are what will have bogged down the coding. And the credentials are in common sense. It's utterly ridiculous to suggest that Jagex have got this content ready in the past few weeks when it famously takes them just as long for simply tiny bug fixes.

The forums are quiet at this time and it's rare to get people to do effigies in such a place like this anyway. You're better trying out an effigy cc or going to W117 daemonheim for people there. I can't remember any effigy cc's off the top of my head, though.

I bought a gem bag, then a coal bag, then a bone crusher, then a scroll of efficiency, then a dragontooth necklace, then an arcane stream... I use my tokens up on bits and bats that'll make my game better :D Herbicide is next, after that a scroll of life then maybe saving up for a chaotic that I can hopefully one day use.

I'm not really sure why it doesn't start from 0. I think that it starts from where your last level was, maybe. I'm guessing.

I would lend out my stuff gladly, just that I have nothing that anybody wants. It does remind me of one time when I was working to 99 Wc and there was a really nice guy WCing with me. He had a rune hatchet and I had a dragon one and people were like 'lol get a dragon hatchet already'. When I had to leave, I lent him my Dragon hatchet and wished him luck on his goals. There's something great about being able to help players, especially with things like lending because you're not really losing anything but they're getting something great for a while.

Since there's a difference in where your goal is relative to what xp you had before, it will change.
