  1. "Best" as in best way to max total from scratch which includes summoning: slayer. Best charms/hr straight-up: barraging rock lobsters. Best summoning xp equivalent/hr: ct waterfiends or perhaps cave crawlers (depending on whether you only open effigies with summoning or use lamps as well.) Best charms/hr with cash: tormented demons. Etc.
  2. I find it cheaper to thieve from Knights of Ardougne - you can get strange rocks from the too so I save some time, and it's better xp.
  3. If you can't afford a fury you should probably try to avoid using rapier at dags and spectres (if you cannon them). They are multicombat and they can attack across other monsters (ranged attacks) which means you'll have 5+ attackers on you pretty much all of the time. That degrades your rapier very quickly, but since your cannon does so much work the dps increase doesn't matter nearly as much. High degrade + low importance of primary dps = no rapier.
  4. You're asking people to give up effigy drops, so that's a reason for them not to lootshare unless you pay a lot. Your best bet is someone poor and in need of magic + summoning xp to barrage rock lobsters at your expense.
  5. For waterfiends you have fury + elite void skirt + fire cape for a total of 11 prayer bonus, which is enough. If you use zspear/ss you got two more. If you use protect prayer + piety and you don't have a titan then you may need a soul wars cape.
  6. Fire anywhere you can get away with carrying enough prayer, otherwise Ardougne 3/4. In slayer, no task takes long enough that you need more prayer bonus. On for example abberant spectres and dagganoth you may not want to use your rapier because of the quick degrade, so you want to use a fire cape.
  7. Black demon bots made me so sad I went to the ct resource dungeon, 160 kills in 39 minutes. But that's slow considering I got no ashes (some xp ofc) so I am woodcutting now.
  8. This isn't a question we can properly answer, though we can say what we would do or what we would think if you did x or y. If you want to max total as fast as possible, getting 99 cooking right now is not the way to go. On the other hand it's not a major difference, and you are probably not thinking of max total just yet.
  9. I'd go with barraging if you don't want to get extremes, but be aware that superantifires are a major change to how fast you can do your dragon tasks. They (= untradeable potions) are the greatest xp/hr increase for slayer you can get at this time.
  10. Moved to the Marketplace :).
  11. You can melee or range, either works perfectly fine at your stats. You want to emphasize offence while maintaining decent ranged defence. Since ranged gear tends to have lower defence overall, you want to go for Bandos +defender or Armadyl + shield. If you feel comfortable with luring you can instead use a two-handed ranged weapon which will increase your kill speed and prayer bonus (Karil's crossbow/handcannons + sw cape). For melee, you can already use a sw cape easily. Either way you can pray piety or eagle eye throughout.

This covers it :P. If you want to train with a whip or cls on stab badly, so be it, but it'll be a lot faster to use a rapier.
  13. I agree they won't hit you that much - but it's still an unneccesary cost increase. @ Efficiency comment: things are efficient relative to a goal. If your goal is to get high magic and summoning levels, barraging is efficient. If you want to max total, it isn't. @ Wallasalkis: Yes it works, but I think kalphites in the Do No Evil lair would be better. They're easier to get to for sure, and less dangerous.
  14. If a monster also drops elite clues, you may want to juggle the clue (pick it up and drop it every minute or so) to get an elite clue drop.
  15. Barrows is equal or worse than Bandos anywhere really, Verac's skirt being the best piece out of all Barrows items. For slayer and frost dragons the strength bonus of Bandos reigns, for Dagganoth kings the additional ranged defence and lower magic attack penalty are valuable, for Bandos god wars the tassets provide strength, ranged defence and a Bandos item, for Zamorak god wars it improves your healing through ss flashing, the Kalphite queen rips through your defence anyway so the strength is needed to rip her back, anything weaker than that can't hit you hard enough to need the additional defence from Barrows items. Verac's skirt is equal to tassets at places where camping (prayer bonus) is important.
  16. I'm pretty sure you mean surge. I believe xpx had 43k/hr for melee and 48k/hr for surge; I can hardly imagine a 30% decrease in dps wouldn't lead to at least 25% kph decrease.
  17. Start farming, do MTK and such, get yourself some decent base gear (fury, berserker ring) and get 70 prayer etc. The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets): [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip) Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top) [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3 Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune) Dragon boots (rune boots) Amulet of fury (glory) Dragon defender (rune defender) Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring) [Most important] Full slayer helmet. [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps) [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear) [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword) Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes Cannon (optional, up to personal preference) Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +10 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +20 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, black dragon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning): 68 summoning - bunyip 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split 88 summoning - unicorn 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload 99 summoning - steel titan I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. Max melees according to that, with enough cannon you'll also get ranged to 95+ and you will get a yak as well. Between tasks, farm! It's the best money considering all you need is 74 hunter, 70 farming & 70 herblore to make 250k per run or so.
  18. You should move your traps a few squares west and trap the bear behind the vine you see north-east of Leik. Saves you some headaches.
  19. Considering you have very nice effigy pairs open, you should definitely crawler. If we assume you open them with fish/agil/mine/hunt/thief/fm/rc and lamp rc, you'll need some 100 effigies to get your opening stats to 99, which will also get you 97 rc. The 100 lamps will then get you 99 rc and some smithing xp or so, if you do tree runs every day you can max out next week :P. If you could post the xp you gain in one hour of crawlering we could make sure you're not doing anything wrong, but I guess that's a last resort. Bad luck is bad luck.
  20. Farseer kite degrades in combat - having 9 rock lobsters on you would degrade it really fast, to the point of costing you 300k/hr+ for the time you spend in combat. Don't use it. If you want to spend tokens, get all scrolls, two t10 rings, ccbow, and cstaff.
  21. If you use piety, potions but no cannon, slayer should average more like 100k xp/hr with whip+cls or rapier. And dungeoneering should average 100k xp/hr at least as well. Get the rapier, it's the best weapon for many many things. Don't forget you won't only be using it to max melees, but also after that.
  22. Moved to the Rants forum :). Protip: if someone is doubling money, do it in one trade. Any other way is reportable.
  23. I only get 10 seconds? They are also one-handed, 6 ticks rapid I think? and they do not make the target agressive to you, so you can throw them around in single combat areas and bind a few things at the time.
  24. So far it seems to me that this update doesn't really affect the game except that you have to skip three more tasks.
  25. Eh Tieszen, that's per 22 minutes, not per hour, lol. So it's 60 blues+20 crims per hour.
