itam's HC diy'er thread
There's also stores to buy from. Most of the herblore is from MTK I'm pretty sure, most of the yak hides from the shop on Neitiznot.

Nomad
Each bonus you have makes him more forgiving, if you were maxed combat you could just walk in there and melee him and tank every special with auto-retaliate on, drinking brews every now and then.

Mage Nature Training
Superheating gold is a good way to train both magic and smithing - it's over 120k xp/hr in both skills, at the same time. If you want you can mine the gold while superheating like Andy suggested, but it will be a lot slower magic and smithing xp, around a third of just superheating.

Fishing
Barbarian fishing, magic or yew logs w/ penance horn, and either yew longbows or maybe adamant arrows.

Nomad
It's not a great way to train but it works. I beat him at 105 combat (not sure what ranged level, under 80 I think) without a war tortoise, with a kyatt + terrorbird. With another 6 spaces, it shouldn't be that hard.

Effective room clearing
In general, if you have a weapon that's much more powerful versus a certain enemy, then that's your priority, e.g. hex vs t11 mage (if there is a hex with you, you should ignore mages). On the other hand, if it's something like baxe + 2h vs dragon (with no hexes on the team) you just want to take the dragon out, and that becomes a priority even if there is a shade the battleaxe will have better dps against. And of course if you're hooded, ignore hoodsafe monsters. So it's a bit of a balance between damage taken from monsters being alive longer, and kills being faster because the best weapon is used. I'm pretty sure it's a large part experience.

New RS player: Where should I start?
I don't understand why you wouldn't go p2p straight away, much more enjoyable imo. So go ahead and take the advantages, which mainly are in high-level content however (member's skills such as herblore don't get good until the 80's most of the time. Agility is one exception, summoning another). Doing all novice quests is a good idea imo. Other than that, you can deal with certain 'problems' such as not being able to run all the way from A to B or not being able to use a shortcut (train agility for that) or not being able to kill a certain monster (train combat, of course) and various other things that you want to do but can't. I don't think it's possible to tell you what the most beneficial thing for you would be right now, not until you have set yourself a goal. But since money makes the world go round, it's probably worth looking into farming and the Royal Trouble & Throne of Miscellania quests.

200M in all Skills
I'm pretty sure Thai meant killing the black demons in floors, which is indeed only worth it with a hex, because otherwise every hex you dg with should get the kill. But of course you do lose effigies and charms that way. Edit: smuggling a hex would do no good, overworld black demons don't use magic.

Yes you will, you can either range or melee really. Void deflector with an Armadyl chestplate and a rune crossbow with diamond bolts works, or full Armadyl with ruby bolts or variations on the theme. Alternatively you can use void melee and whip him.

^Totally agree, and besides, one tier up would be a +10 prayer platebody and defensive stats equal to rune, nothing to get that excited over (except for pking).

200M in all Skills
If you use urns, you won't be able to carry summoning pots really, you have 3 overload, ~10 pray pot, claws, slayer ring, maybe herbicide or so, scrolls... without urns, you get to take up to 10 summoning potions but you do lose the ashes entirely, and summ pots + additional scrolls aren't that cheap, so you're losing a lot of money for the small increase in kill speed compared to cannon w/ bots. Last I heard, steel titan in ct is 250/hr with no pots, that's still doable with a cannon. In short, the task is a lot worse than it was :S.

Chinning rock lobs?
Not until you reach 99 ranged (and value ranged xp equal to melee xp) and 95 summoning probably.

itam's HC diy'er thread
It's like... you pick a skill, woodcutting, and get 99. No further delays. Congratulations .

Agility vs RC
Dharok's is good for stuff with high lp, so LRC and stuff. Agility goes just over 70k/hr once you stop failing advanced gnome, runecrafting goes a little over 60k/hr at ZMI at higher levels or at crawlers (using lamps on 98 rc only). If you were, say, 90 agility and runecrafting, and assisting runecrafting every day, you could use your dragonkin lamps on agility until you max it.

207 dagannoth task
It's worth doing the task as DKS if you know how to do them (worth learning) and if you can't Nex, but it's slower xp than cannoning and you get no effigies or charms. However at your stats, DKS will be a pain.

Good way to spend a few hours, got a zamorak page (3) somewhere between kills 450 and 475.

cannoning Abby Spectres
Slayer ring > Sumona or carpet ride from Shantay.

200M in all Skills
Edgeville has only thee spawns, you can't use overloads/extemes, and most people would likely not use their best gear. Of course you can safespot cannon them, but you're still going to be very limited by the low number of spawns.

Bursting Rock Lobs
Yes, smoke barrage with robes or ice burst without.

Dungeonsweepers (DGS) - Huge changes; read first post.
It's not a great update for most DGSers, but another 100 surges means you won't have to refill your surgebox as much (or maybe at all) if your main attack style is magic. This mainly applies to ranged tanks as most pures likely won't take the 45k defence xp, but it's still helpful.

Purple stew = juju gumbo, 320 lp in one bite (though not in one tick). [hide=Minor spoiler] I didn't need any of the pots though I used spec recovers just because. [/hide]

05-Jul-2011 - Salt in the Wound
I liked the quest but the bossfight was boring as hell. Ah well at least there was some reward, even though I likely won't be using it.

It better be longer than an hour. But I'm not too hopeful.

Quests are good places to get rid of half potions . Maybe I'll need more pray pots though. And special recovers. Ranged gear?

Chinning rock lobs?
It's slower than barraging for sure (even if you did somehow manage to get their defence down), as you have a way lower max hit even in void. It's also slower than bursting because you have the same max hit with much lower accuracy. Nechs are way, way better in gp/hr, ranged xp, charms, effigies...
