  1. I prefer meleeing them as it appears to be much faster than having to rely on safespotting. I've only ever seen Rangers use a safespot on them so I couldn't tell ya how you'd do with them attacking. I'd definitely say with your stats melee is going to be faster.
  2. This. Just train Slayer and it'll solve most if not all of your Summoning needs.
  3. I basically only use it for the Kharyll teleport nowadays. I have an altar sure, but I've never used it (kind of addicted to Ectofungus even if it's not worth it). Occasionally I use it to host a friend or clanmate's 99 party, but otherwise I try to avoid it now. It only reminds me of all of the other cool things I could spend money I don't want to spend on it and how poor my house planning was before I got 99. :|
  4. Well I believe the combat trainer on Tutorial Island was lvl 147 or something like that, and in a certain quest I believe Duradel and a few others are lvl 197, so that could make room for more combat skills. It's definitely a long ways away, but eventually we might get at least another combat level raise. It'd be tough to do without proper resource and production skills balancing it though. ;)

It is getting quite out of hand. They're doing the same to Snapdragons at the moment, and while the harvest makes for big profit, 79k a seed is a bit steep, and considering that when they dump (both Snaps and Ranarrs) they'll totally ruin profitable herb farming, we're in for a problem with Farming for a while. Merchanting just isn't cool when it ruins part of a skill. :( Also, watch Dharok helms... I smell something funny with them at the moment.
  7. Using a fast Stealing Creation non-combat clan (easily found on the RSOF), you can expect on average 15 minute games, with enough points for one tool per game. (Basically, 20 points a game guarantees a hammer). Just make pouches, and spending a whole game on level 2 or 3 clay is still steady enough to get a tool every game. Good luck.
  8. It's not going to work out that way, you'll be hammer off or two since every last item you make is going to give partially normal experience. It took me about 250 hammers, so you'll be in the low 240's.
  9. Do what champ says or train Slayer. Most of my charms have come from Slayer, and it has most definitely paid off. Make Pyrefiends at 46 and Bloated Leeches at 49, then when you can exchange them for shards you'll get that initial investment back. I believe Leeches are best until either 61 or 64.
  10. Oak Dungeon Doors with SC hammers maxed out at 383k xp/hr for me before the update. If it is faster like you say, then I'd assume maybe a couple 10k more? Really, Construction is fast enough, so I wouldn't think it matters.
  11. I've had no experience with the first question. The closest thing I've found with the Managerie is the natural style. The volcano may be the highest level requirement but it's just not worth it to have a sore spot in my house. The natural style is just enough so that it's different yet similar.
  12. I'd say just do all of the quests, but if I had to pick one I'd say Swan Song, mainly because it unlocks a fast Summoning training route, and fishing spots for monkfish.
  13. Great overview, you definitely inspired me to start soloing. I've done a few runs with the Saradomin Sword, and it works pretty well (the spec hasn't missed Graardor once yet) for those who want a step up from a whip. :

Oak Larders using SC hammers is the most efficient method. Use a non-combat Stealing Creation clan and you'll get the hammers needed in no time. The hammers practically cut the planks needed in half due to the double xp bonus. Good luck!
  15. I believe the SC clans should hopefully be safe, as their is no real way to fix those games, and all of the major clans are only there to play the game, not necessarily win it (everybody gets a tool anyway). Really it'd just depend on whether or not JaGeX wants combat to be a dominant factor in Stealing Creation or not. I'm going to miss all of the 50/50 GOP threads, mainly because I hate the way some if not most people act on the theme worlds, blaming everyone for their mistakes and then leaving early. Either way this isn't cool. I find it ironic how they say they're getting more and more into the clan community and then they go and ban some of the most active clans... :|
  16. Oak Planks on SC hammers cost me around 55m. Looking back I'd say it wasn't worth it because everything you unlock in the higher levels pretty much costs well in the millions to add, so I'm stuck with a nice cape, but a lame house. :wall:
  17. I wish they'd continue on with the Slayer helm and Salve effects. Some nice 85 or 90 Defence armour that gives good boosts on Slayer tasks would be great. Farming needs something that real life farming has, such as a 10% chance of seed recovery that grows in success rate along with your Farming level. Runecrafting could be sped up a bit more. Slayer needs new monsters. Construction needs a level 80+ Summoning room or whatever have you. Herblore could use some special attack boosting potions (I'd love to see the market fly with these) for 85+ Herblorists. Summoning could use a nice Shard-crafting method for higher levels. A nice high-level dungeon to compliment (even surpass) God Wars would be great for adding some of these end-game updates that everyone's coming up with.
  18. Hi, I'm hosting a friend's 99 Ranged party at my POH tomorrow, and in the few weeks I've had the cape I just can't seem to find a good outfit to go with it. So does anybody have any (not uber-expensive, but something in the low millions is okay) outfit suggestions for a trimmed Construction skillcape? Thanks.
  19. For Construction I clocked my hammer to work out at 51,175. However, there's a lot of debate, because the last item you make with it is going to give partly-normal xp. However, they will last in the ball park of 50k Construction experience and 64k Smithing experience.

I understand that they can roam in groups, but I've been doing wilderness clues for almost a year now and it's never hit me until today. Heck it took me 4 world hops to finally find a world safe enough to dig at the spot I needed. I'm not normally one to jump to conclusions, but it seems odd to me that I'd go so long without having that much trouble. :?

Is it just me, or are the Revenants a lot more organized now? Today was a first for me, I died in level 55 wilderness to a team of 2 Orks and a Knight. Not only has this never happened before (and I've done way too many clues to not notice this), but as I speak I'm stuck in the Mage arena bank area on a different world because the same trio of revenants have decided to patrol that area of wilderness. Is this a new development? If so, clues are going to be a whole lot harder, and I don't know if I feel like scrambling to the Ardougne lever only to be killed again as soon as I pick up my skillcape from the first grave. Thoughts?
  22. Personally, I do Spiritual Mages because they pay off most of the time. I simply wear Black Dragonhide, Unholy Amulet, Barrow gloves, Bandos boots, Slayer helm, with a Saradomin Sword. I just climb down the first rope into Saradomin's Encampment, and then attack the mages when they engage the single Werewolf down there. The Werewolf rarely ever dies, but it does have 83 Slayer so you should make sure you get a large amount of hits in before the Mage dies. I've never dealt with Spiritual Warriors, so I'm no help there. I find that even with no charms, Spiritual mages are usually worth it and they're kind of fun after a few runs. :
  23. If you're Ranging I'd say Summona would be a bit more forgiving. Lapalok/Duradel tend to be a bit more melee-favorable.
  24. Oak Larders using SC hammers is the best method to either 71 or 74. I stopped at 71 and then used the Crystal Saw to make Oak Dungeon Doors to 99 instead of Larders, but it's entirely your choice. Just use a calculator to see how many Larders/Doors you'll need, cut it in half to make up for the SC hammer bonus, and then you'll have how many items you need to make (a.k.a. supplies cost). Good luck. :
