  1. LMAO nice story you got there.
  2. Ooh grats on all these recent achievements, especially Void Stares Back. Good luck on 99s in those skills.
  3. That was really the only thing I could think of when I created this blog. ;p I don't plan on revamping the blog anytime soon, I like it this way ^^ Thanks for posting, good luck with your own goals too!
  4. Jimmy you are an awesome pker :D Good luck with the drops (bronzed dragon claw?), and you should dungeoneer more ^^

Well this applies to activities as well. Are you going to do them in an efficient manner (which you will need to if you want consistent wins), or are you just there for the hell of it, chillaxing? And fun is subjective. If someone chooses to do something way inferior because they find it more fun, then they choose to be inefficient. I guess your example of rock crabs is a good showcase of this. But my point still stands: player choice has NO effect on efficiency. It does not stop the best method (factually!) being the most efficient.
  6. That's actually also one of the reasons I learned to type so fast. ;D It's really handy outside of rs as well. I just wish the general Runescape population would follow suit...

You can also try Great Orb Project.
  8. But then with multiple worlds, you would have less chance of finding someone with the same floor as you. That means, you might level out some of the people that are actually decent at dunge. Like someone said, they should make the dungeoneering worlds Daemonheim-only to reduce some lag.

Oops, I left out another part of the efficiency equation: the people involved. I'm assuming people hate BA and dungeoneering because of their emphasis on TEAMWORK, a skill that a lot of Runescapers unfortunately seems to lack. I guess that relates to another point in my above post: a method is only efficient if you're smart with it. With the BA example, I'm going to assume people aren't smart with BA. Therefore, a lot of people deem BA as inefficient and use courses like Brimhaven instead. (Those tickets are beastly too, especially for a bonus exp weekend! :o )
  10. I believe people only type like that on Runescape, because face it, there's not really a lot of time for you to be chatting. I fit into this category since I type 90 WPM but make lots of mistakes on the way. It would be better if I were accurate AND fast at the same time (I would pwn Typeracer). What really shocks me though, are people who type 60 and below WPM and STILL make so many mistakes. I'm assuming most of the Runescape population are snail-paced typers, which pretty much explains what you keep on seeing all day. @ K4ylan: I was about to as well. But then I decided it's not worth it. :P

So... the conclusions? From this thread, efficiency has several different definitions: - Efficiency is the best method to achieve a particular goal (speed, money, or a combo of both). - Efficiency is the method that involves the least effort. This may be AFK in some cases. - Efficiency is your own preferred method. In other words, fun. This is often ignored when accounting for efficiency. However, efficiency also factors in your ability to do particular methods. Boss hunting may be one of the best methods of cash in the game, but it can be very hard. Skilling is an extremely easy way to make cash, but it doesn't give you much in return. For example, a level 3 is obviously not capable of combat moneymakers, so he/she has to resort to skilling. For the level 3, skilling is the most efficient method of moneymaking. However, a person with maxed combats, max gear, overloads and turmoil has the capability to bosshunt, therefore boss hunting is the most efficient method of moneymaking. Of course, all this falls short to merching, which absolutely anyone can do. However, doing so requires great knowledge of how the economy works, and unfortunately not a lot of people have that knowledge. This means, a method is only efficient if you are smart with it. So the main conclusion? Efficiency is your ability to use the best methods possible (gp, xp, time saved) THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU AND YOUR SKILLS. All the "fun" people can gtfo. Remember, fun is subjective, but that has no effect on efficiency at all.
  12. Gratz on an AWESOME looking statue. Myself? I'm still on my first. I hate hunter in every way possible, so yeah...
  13. Yeah, I want to see damage boosters to longbows. Perhaps unsighted longbows should get the speed boost, and sighted adds a huge accuracy AND damage bonus? ;)

There hasn't really been an increase of an immature crowd. The recent topics always involve the same people in heated arguments and debates. And TIF isn't falling apart. I actually like it when there are more heated discussions, because it makes the forums more lively. :D Plus, a lot of the "flame wars" don't really detract from the topic, so I don't see that being a big problem.
  15. I think it's because crush/slash combo is more useful than stab/slash combo in a lot of cases (especially in abandoned). But yeah, you can use a longsword for stab, and it would be better than the rapier because it also has very good slash.
  16. Well, now I'm officially quitting dging for a while. W7's ragequitters makes me rage. Going to finish off smithing for Lumby hard, then going back to all 70+.
  17. Today I did more dungeoneering as usual. Got my last floor, f33 finished, and reset my ring. However, I'm going to quit dunge for a bit. Why? Because of all the ragequitters I constantly meet throughout the dungeon. Seriously, with ragequitters in the way, there are many stuff that just can't be done in the dungeon. About 1/3 through the dungeon, we found a switch room... when 2 members of the team already left the party. There was also a level 83 strength door, and one of the quitters just happened to have that level. The guardian rooms were also unlucky, there were way too many ranging and magic creatures. I ended up dying 5 times, all because my stupid prayer kept running out. In the end, I got 9k exp for 1h 30min worth of work... That's it. W7 has blown my last straw. If I'm ever going to dg again, I'm pure soloing.
  18. Get a decent range and magic level as well. Oh and train your other stats so you can use relatively high-tiered stuff (tier 7+).
  19. I think the qualm for most players is the fact that since these diaries are so high level, the rewards that you get from them will hardly affect them (mainly talking about stuff like Bork drops and inferno adze). But still, who doesn't love experience lamps? <3:
  20. http://forum.tip.it/topic/264302-what-annoys-you-the-most-in-runescape/ But anyways, I hate uncooperative people in dung. We need you for mime rooms and such. Help us clear a guardian door. Don't just stand there while we're all facing a tough boss. And spammers are a pet peeve too. They lag the server too much ;\
  21. Stick to rc, arbiter. Don't let others influence your choices even if it's somebody like Zarfot. If you love rc a lot, then go for it. There needs to be another 200m rcer :D
  22. I'm a 14 year old guy who played runescape for 2 years. That makes me one of them? But anyways, yeah I'm kinda disappointed of how RS players nowadays act so childish... then again this isn't the first time this happened.

It's really more of an issue of people not agreeing to one side of the debate. Some are just too stubborn to look at the other points. The "efficiency" thread is a very good example of this. Heck, you can even count in "chaotic rapier vs longsword" because no conclusion can be really drawn... But all this falls short to the f2p discussions we used to have on these forums. Granted we have a general discussion for f2pers now, which pretty much put an end to the f2p flamebait. But boy... the "skillcapes for f2p" thread was really heated.
  24. Interesting reads from this edition of the postbag. I liked the poem from Lexicus. :P And lol, heim crabs taste like wizard.
  25. For woodcutting, my preferred method is to wc maples at the new resource dungeon, and using ring of kinship to bank at Daemonheim. I don't really know what to do with my maples though... I know I am going to use these for firemaking, but if fletching ever becomes f2p, I'm screwed. Basically means I need to cut even MORE trees. I'm too nitpicky with my cash, because I know there are better things for me to spend on (smithing, for example). @ lovetofly: Who were the other 4 players? Is it like a team of pures or something?
