The Good: - MMG is finally bringing the tech and security like he did when first announced as the head of runescape (remember the email changes) in the form of greater account security with the Jagex Account Guardian and other "tech innovations" - New antibot update - New filters in place to combat spambots - New mobile play platforms to come - Promised content to follow within the coming months - Lack of content explained due to having to funnel resources elsewhere The Bad: - The SoF and Solomon's store won't change from the current direction it's going down - Faith has fallen that it requires almost quarterly statements from the head of the game in an attempt to restore broken trust The Ugly: - They claim not to sell gold and exp but via the SoF gold is sold at almost 2mil for the highest spin package and xp rates of 800k/hr are feasible with a large amount of spins, which begs the question of how they'll get around "we will not sell <this>" if they go and do it in a different way - They flat-out can't sell gold or they'd have to combat the RWT bots, but public reason they're giving is spun to be positive -- Meh even after one of the worst days I've had since my mother passed away, I can't find it in me to direct my rage at them for this newspost. They've done everything we've demanded of them and there was some great news in there. They're walking the line like lifetime pros on building up the community enough to endure the blows of decisions they're forced to make to ensure the longevity of the game and this just gave them a huge advantage. There will be buzz for months about the JAG (lawwwwwlllll) and ensuing content updates that will only play in their favor. God help them if they don't deliver on their expectations. We need good things to talk about. Boards are too damn depressing now. Need a good teaser and things to anticipate...start the information trickle.

The Big Chinchompa & Boost Your Bank! (28th of August)
Kimberly replied to Pirkka's topic in General Discussion
You're right, you're the only one ever who has ever thought of that. Ever. It's been discussed to death. What's more likely is they'll simply create Loyalty Shop counterparts, like a greenfingers counterpart in solomon etc. When faced with something significantly harder to obtain (Loyalty Shop), buying becomes a more enticing option. -

Jagex: Thinking of Gambling Alternatives?
Kimberly replied to RU_Insane's topic in General Discussion
People were begging for a legal alternative to dicing before IVP became the hot-button topic of the year. I'm very happy that they're seeking to control it. I hope they can think of an elegant solution that removes the risk of scamming. They waited far too long to root it out entirely. EDIT: Oh that gives me an idea for an image... inb4 inafter "lol but the sof is already gambling" "lol jagex doesn't care" "lol" EDIT: My inb4 was very late. -

10$ for free increased bankspace forever that will even carry over if you ever decide to upgrade compared to a 300+ upgrade for a month with over 10x the content to fill it all up. You can't really compare the two. To a pure F2Per, I could definitely see how buying bankspace would be an alluring thing. But the new argument will be whether or not buying bankspace devalues your f2p achievements. -

In 2 and a half hours, I was only able to get 150k exp at 87 rc. So yeah I'd say so.* WARNING - EXTENSIVE TESTING UP IN THIS [bleep] /sarcasm -
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Kimberly replied to sephiroth_king's topic in Off-Topic
So let's talk DLC. Dawnguard was released less than a month ago. Came with a decent storyline and game additions. But today Hearthfire was announced as a way to make your home from the ground up, released on September 4th, for only 5 bucks. That's pretty awesome IMO, and is more interesting to me than an overpriced (IMO) storyline add-on. -

It's not F2P if you have to pay for it. Non-members is still free to play...so...yes it is. I get what you're driving at but you're saying the wrong things to get that point across. -

I will be shocked if they're anything less than 100k/50 slots, limited to 2 increases. -

Do tell, I must have missed this. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but in any case, here it is from the news post: -

No, you misread the news post. They were private as in limited access separated from the rest of RuneScape. You CAN invite other players, but that doesn't mean that's the only way people can reach those areas. -
People who train magic, since what you're proposing is basically like the merging of magic and runecrafting.

My conspiracy theory (that I don't really believe): Most people have game set to filter. Every time you log on, that message flashes briefly. It sticks in your subconscious, becoming part of their campaign to keep the SOF in the forefront of player's minds in order to promote it. -

At least it filters out when you have the Game tab filtered. -

I just hope that instituting this change doesn't come at the cost of normal bankspace upgrades, like when new skills come out. -

You made the same mistake I did. It's not out yet. Oh well I bought supreme tracker. Meh. Go to Solomon store. You can't really miss it, lol. The Loyalty shop will give out the bank space next week. Well considering we're talking about the Loyalty shop and not Solomon... Thanks? -

Here's my Concept Artwork I've won from Jagex!
Kimberly replied to XxTearGodxX's topic in General Discussion
You'd get less via RWTing than you would selling it on ebay. TBH you should give that to a trusted friend who goes to RuneFest to get more autographs. -
Not quite. Vine whip is part of the level 75 tier (While chaotics are 80), and the rapier is now exclusively a stab weapon. As Hedgehog said, chaotics are still the best weapons for their classes/styles. Pretty sure it's still worth getting. oh yeah cls is slash keep getting the 2 muddled and was thinking off slayer req on vine whip doh! Sorry, could you please repost that in english? =T "Oh yeah. Cls is a slash weapon, keep getting the 2 muddled. I was thinking of the slayer req on vine whip, doh!" He meant that he mistakenly thought vine whip was in the same tier as chaotics because he confused the Slayer level requirement with the actual attack or strength (I forget which) level requirement.

Did you completely miss the SoF and SGS updates we have been getting 3/4 weeks every month? Small apples compared to what Omali was actually talking about. And if our own little community is indicative of what happened in the player base at large, relatively few people truly quit over these things.
