  1. Claws has a better spec. That is a fact, not an opinion. If you want I can find the math to back it up for you. Also, the SGS is not worth it, especially not for prayer restoration. You save more prayer by using claws to get faster kills. Everyone here has told you that SGS is not worth it, there isn't a point in posting in H&A if you've made your mind up already.
  2. Bring both and equip the defender if you get crashed.
  3. No need to go all the way to 96 for overloads, you can stew from 91.
  4. Nope, no reason to spend 20m on it at all unless you literally have millions to throw away. The only place where it is best is frost wyrms. One slayer task, that's it. For bosses maybe it can substitute for a dung shield or a spirit shield if you're soloing. I can't think of anything else. It's pretty overpriced and lower dps then defender on most things.
  5. My comments aren't a downgrade. They are an upgrade. The lower weight will help you more then the prayer bonus. If you're unwilling to take advice there isn't much point in posting in an H&A forum.
  6. Just downloaded Swiftkit for the first time, the dung party took lured me into it. Anyhow, when I try and launch it I get "35761 Request timed out" which I need to kick okay to which gives me "Run Time error '13': type mismatch. When I okay that then it closes. Help?! Can someone please help me to get this running?
  7. The first article is great, especially the part about clans, I for one have never been too involved in the clan community and am fascinated to hear the level or competition it has escalated to. As for the commentary on giving 2nd and 3rd chances to botters, I bumped multiple threads on the RSOF trying to get J Mod answers about level resetting. What it came down to when I asked if keeping profits by keeping people playing the game motivated it I got an answer similar to, "We are a gaming company, keeping people in the game benefits both them and us and I see no reason why this is bad." Essentially them admitting to it being profits driven. That episode reminded me how the biggest action against botting back in 2007 only came when their bottom line was effected. It wasn't motivated by "the spirit of the game," or by fairness, but by the fact that they would cease to make money otherwise and needed to choose the only path that could save them. I really think everything else was just a facade to save face. And now back to this Referendum. I've looked at the numbers of staff and estimated salaries, members (estimated) and membership revenue, and estimated f2p add revenue and also taken into account millions lost on mechscape. I don't think Jagex is doing well. I don't think they are financially doing well at all. They are simply unable to fund expansion at the rate nessesary to compete in the MMO market. The article is right, the MMO market has come a long way. I think this whole thing is a gimmick, I think we are seeing them sacrifice their "values" for the bottom line again. They just want their paying members back to make more money. The only difference is this time they have player support where as the past few times they haven't. That is what I think, I hate to think it but it's what all the evidence points to. Oh, and I think Jagex will abandon Runescape like they did classic if they ever finish Mechscape. Unless of course they decide it would cut into their profits.
  8. PM me with the details, I'll log on and help if it's nothing too ridiculous. I won't ask for max trade either. So you have nothing to lose by PMing me. Oh, PM me on Tip.It please.
  9. In my experience, void or a hand cannon will sacrifice too much defense to stay very long. From what I've heard a chaotic crossbow is a huge step over a rune one, however I can't attest to that myself.
  10. It would prolly be a bunch of sub level 100's and a few higher levels. Chaotic, dangerous and easily crashable by one of the many 15 man maxed teams that will be camping the boss for 40 hours straight after release.
  11. Armored zombies with void and salve (e) will still be fast, even at your level. There is an alter right there so you can just protect melee. If you don't have full void yet I suggest you do the void quests, you get 400 points worth gear from them and they are fast and easy. The zombies also profit if you care to slow down your exp by 5k an hour or so and pick up drops they profit around 100-200k per hour. And they drop charms, you summoning level is low and with the way the game currently is, summoning, prayer and herblore are just as big elements to combat as actual combat stats, especially at higher levels. Earth warriors are just bad. If your doing something that slow you might as well slay.
  12. Oh look, it's this thread again. I suggest you read this to catch up a little... http://forum.tip.it/topic/284313-havent-played-runescape-in-a-long-time/page__pid__4668633#entry4668633 And for the best place to max out as quickly and cost effectively as possible I suggest you read this guide... http://forum.tip.it/topic/222890-melee-ranging-and-two-slight-diversions/ Or this one... http://forum.tip.it/topic/270607-living-rock-creatures-massive-combat-xp-guide/ Or my personal favorite, this one... http://forum.tip.it/topic/206237-the-armored-zombies-guide-100k-experience-per-hour/page__hl__void+zombies And getting a rapier first will save you a lot of time, plus it is just a great weapon.
  13. I would recommend an ancient mace as a spec weapon, the spec restores prayer, and monk robes, as light weight is important. Boots of lightness and a spottier cape as well will be more helpful. Really, you don't need to pray a lot. Also, you shouldn't need to bank, bring a bunyip or two and baskets of strawberries + agility pies for food. An energy potion and 4 or so prayer potions. Really, you won't even need it all if you use a guide. Edit: Since you can't use a bunyip bring a terrorbird and extra pouch. Fill it with baskets of strawberries. Edit2: The reason prayer gear after a point stops being good is becuase it has diminishing returns. 5 more bonus when you're already +30 actually gives less then when you're at 0. This is why it's okay to have a prayer bonus around 25-30. An extra prayer potion will give you longer pray time then that extra prayer bonus.
  14. Try the unofficial Tip.It chat "Shyla", it might be a bit hard to get used to becuase a lot of the people there know each other, but it's entertaining. Also, keep in mind, This is not a dating site.
  15. I would be willing to pay 200-300 gp/dung token.
  16. Mining guild is always gone. With a timer I presume you can catch the spawns once you get them once.
  17. I think the mining guild resource dungeon also has rune rocks, in fact, it has three rune rocks. If you use it then there is no need to fear revs.
  18. What if it was instanced and drops bound to whoever lootshared them? No coinshare at all.
  19. That being said, warriors is still a good alternative. It depends on what other gear you have as to which ring you really should use.
  20. So raid Floors 1-10 on Complexity 1 (small) on my own with prestige 21, then from 10 I should team with a higher complexity and larger map size? To be honest, I would just do them solo med. Nobody will be making larges until past floor 20. Plus, solo med will help you learn to remember doors and use gatestones, both are skills that will help later.
  21. The best salamanders for your level are fastest.
  22. OH NO! Hunting bosses won't make as much money as before? :boohoo: Just because you don't personally enjoy monster hunting as a lucrative activity doesn't mean you should slam other people who do. I could see a lot of people quitting if all their favorite monsters to hunt became worthless. Like in everything, a balance needs to be found.
  23. The way the correlation works is that it gives a lot more exp at higher levels then at lower levels. But not in a linear way like random event lamps or penguins. So using the lamp on higher skills is really really important if you want to get the most out of it.
  24. It think it is actually faster just superheating them. That's because you have to pause yourself at the furnace. When superheating you can just spam click. I'll double check it now, I don't think you can spam click it, otherwise it would be epic exp with mousekeys. Either way, I think the OP is looking for a method more like the one I outlined. Edit: It appears you can, it's just a bit hard in fixed window because you would want to tab to the spellbook and tab back to the inventory. Like, it does the same thing as alching which is staying in the inventory for a few seconds then going back to the spellbook, but if you go back manually you can fit in another superheat and it doesn't cancel like with alching. Either way, it seems marginally faster with a whole lot more clicking. Curious if tabbing makes it less click intensive. Thanks for the info though.
