  1. I am actually thinking of ways to improve the skill even further and this is a nice little addition I have thought about. Thanks for the feedback. :)
  2. Thanks for writing, guys! Don't forget to check back if you like the blog!
  3. You know, there's a lot of nasty people on this thread who are so narrowminded they won't except the fact that a bad sounding or mediocre idea can be done greatly. You want proof? Think of Archaeology, tell yourself how stupid the idea of the skill would be, then go read my Archaeology Skill Suggestion thread via the link in my signature. Sailing is a good idea, and will mostly likely be a skill, if not this year, then one of the years to come.
  4. You get 100 Deaths per cat. 1,000 cats x 100 Deaths = 100,000 deaths = around 30M gp. PS...300,000 Deaths would be 90M, not 50M. lol.
  5. Three skills left under 85 now! I think Runecrafting will be next since it's already 84. :)
  6. I don't agree with this. You're trying to pass off this "data" as fact because in your mind training a skill loses cash because you COULD be making money during that time instead of training. But that's like saying an actor is giving up money because he/she COULD be going and working a regular shift job at some local diner instead of auditioning. No. They audition to open oportunities for more money and/or more exposure in the business. People train skills because they want to train skills. If you want to make money, make money. Seeing as how it is IMPOSSIBLE to make 500k gp an hour doing most skills it doesn't make sense to say you're losing cash. You're only losing hypothetical cash which doesn't exist anyway because you CHOSE to spend the time to train the skill. To me, this just sounds like you're trying to make people think they're wasting all this cash only skilling when in reality they're helping their accounts by skilling. Higher skills usually mean an account that can do more/achieve more in the game. I mean, honestly, I see people with billions of gp and I am NOT jealous. At the end of the day, it's your skills people see and really admire, not really your bank account.
  7. Quite frankly, the only useful thing that came of this thread was being able to see how many 99s there are. Now, your opinions are your own opinions, but you pass around the word pointless like it's candy. I'm sorry, but how is 99 Prayer pointless? On monsters, slayer tasks and boss hunting 99 prayer is superior when you need prayer to defeat something. Allows you to stay longer and you get more out of the cash you spend on prayer potions. Many people have maxed Runecrafting and THEN some without runners or even the ZMI. Don't act like you know for a fact no one has because I have 3 very close friends on Runescape I watched go from level 1 to 99 completely by themselves, earning phats and such in the process. Again, your opinion, but while I say mining is definitely one of the most difficult skills to get to 99, it doesn't mean it is. I mean...the reason so few have 99 though it's been out since rsc is because it's mainly a skill used by free to play players and new players to members. Once you get involved in other skills members has to offer you lose the glimmer that mining once had. Also, it is very monotonous and is one of the most limited skills in the game. It's exactly like woodcutting because of the limited amount of resources you can use it to gather, only woodcutting is trained more because you only have to click once to get many, many logs AND they give far more exp than mining does. I don't know. I just hate it when players have such strong opinions on things they seem to really know nothing about.
  8. Yay! One more skill above level 85. Four more left. :)
  9. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad someone pays attention to my Slayer Level posts. =-p Also good to know I'm not the only theatre person who plays Runescape. lol.
  10. »Latest Update - October 13th, 2009: Ok...so here's the deal. I started playing World of Warcraft and got addicted right away. I ended up buying the classic game and played until maxed, then I tried out the Burning Crusade expansion trial , which still actually has 3 or 4 days left. Once that runs out, I will probably stop playing WoW for a while until I have the money to afford the $15.00 a month. In the meantime, I am back on Runescape for as long as I can handle it. I played a lot today, more than I have in over a month. Who knows how long it'll keep up. The high level content updates have been keeping me on. However, real life and finding work are most important so this very last farming level will take a while, especially since I have absolutely NO MORE tree seeds left. I will do the rest of the level with strictly Watermelon and Torstol Seeds. Wish me luck! »Outsanity is currently: Planting his way to 99 Farming. »Farming Levels Needed: 1!
  11. »Introduction: I have been playing for over four years now. Outsanity was created on February 15th of 2005. I began playing because a long-term online friend of mine by the name of Nq2h told me he found a new game that he was sure I would like. He created his account one week prior to mine, and from the moment I stepped off tutorial island, he was there to help me through the basics of the game. Immediately I began woodcutting and firemaking in the forests of Draynor, and killing goblins just west of lumbridge. I did this for my entire first week. It is foggy now, but I vaguely remember being level 25 combat with level 30+ woodcutting and firemaking. The point to this story: while doing this, my friend liked to prod and poke fun at me, saying I would never get all 99s and "be as good as Zezima," or pass him up in combat level or total level. But sure enough, I passed him quickly, and many other friends I had played alongside with. Since then, many friends have come and gone, Nq2h still plays, but I remained "full time." The game became addicting, almost like a drug. But let's face it, folks, a game isn't the worst thing you could be addicted to. »About Me: I am 19 years old and live in Manhattan where I attended a Musical Theatre Conservatory. One of the best in the country, if I may blow my own horn for a moment. I graduated in February, ironically only 1 week prior to my 4 year anniversary of this account. Now that I have finished training, I audition and basically pray for the best. One of my goals is to be cast in a Broadway or Off-Broadway show within the next 2-5 years. If by the 5th year I am still not doing well, I will fall back on teaching. (Though I have the utmost confidence that will not be the case) I play Runescape to calm me. If there is anyone else out there who is currently in musical theatre or showbuisness in general, you know how absolutely demanding it is, and how easy it is to become stressful. I consider this game a tool, if you will. It calms me, and for a few hours at a time, can keep my mind cleansed of my work and the profession I have chosen. So, with all this being said, I hope anyone who reads this blog can appreciate the "fun" (Since I don't consider Runescape work) I have put into this account. I have a life, and I will defend that statement to the grave and beyond. Runescape is a hobby. An extremely fun, addicting hobby. »Professional Headshot: »Outsanity's Stats at the Beginning of this Blog: »Outsanity's Current Stats: »Skill and Wealth Goals: »Screenshots: [hide=Slayer Levels]99 Slayer - Achieved during a Dark Beast Assignment 98 Slayer - Achieved during a Greater Demon Assignment 97 Slayer - Achieved during a Spiritual Mage Assignment 96 Slayer - Achieved during a Bloodveld Assignment 95 Slayer - Achieved during an Abyssal Demon Assignment 94 Slayer - Achieved during a Waterfiend Assignment 93 Slayer - Achieved during a Nechryael Assignment 92 Slayer - Achieved during a Darkbeast Assignment 91 Slayer - Achieved during an Abyssal Demon Assignment [/hide] [hide=Magic Levels]99 Magic - Achieved through Bursting Rock Lobsters 98 Magic - Achieved through Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters and Circus Experience 97 Magic - Achieved through Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters 96 Magic - Achieved through Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters [/hide] [hide=Summoning Levels]99 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Waterfiends 98 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Waterfiends 97 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 99 Slayer and Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters 96 Summoning and 138 Combat - Achieved with Charms from 98-99 Slayer 95 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 97-98 Slayer 94 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 97-98 Slayer 93 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 96-97 Slayer 92 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 95-96 Slayer 91 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 95-96 Slayer 90 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 94-95 Slayer 89 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 93-94 Slayer 88 Summoning and 137 Combat - Achieved with Charms from 91-93 Slayer 87 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 91-93 Slayer 86 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 91-93 Slayer 85 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 91-93 Slayer 84 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 91-93 Slayer 83 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from 90-91 Slayer 81 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters 80 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters 79 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters 75 Summoning - Achieved with Charms from Ice Bursting Rock Lobsters [/hide] [hide=Farming Levels]98 Farming - Achieved by Watermelon 97 Farming - Achieved by Magic Tree 96 Farming - Achieved by Torstol Herb 95 Farming - Achieved by Magic Tree 94 Farming - Achieved by Torstol Herb 93 Farming - Achieved by Magic Tree 92 Farming and 2,200 Total Levels - Achieved by Poison Ivy Bush 91 Farming - Achieved by Vinesweeper Points 90 Farming - Achieved by Vinesweeper Points 89 Farming - Achieved by Poison Ivy Bush 88 Farming - Achieved by Palm Tree 87 Farming - Achieved by Watermelons 86 Farming - Achieved by Torstol Herbs 85 Farming - Achieved by Palm Tree [/hide] [hide=Quests]Hunt for the Red Raktuber - 284 Quest Points While Guthix Sleeps - 275 Quest Points Summer's End - 269 Quest Points Rocking Out - 268 Quest Points Darkness of Hallowvale - 225 Quest Points Lunar Diplomacy - 221 Quest Points A Fairy Tale Part II - 219 Quest Points [/hide] [hide=Godwars Drops]Bandos Chestplate - 2.375M Split Bandos Tassets - 1.802M Split Armadyl Helmet - 988K Split Bandos Chestplate - 2.401M Split Bandos Tassets - 1.569M Split Bandos Chestplate - 2.070M Split Bandos Chestplate - 1.610M Split Bandos Hilt - 3.526M Split Bandos Hilt - 5.477M Split [/hide] [hide=Abyssal Demon Drops]Abyssal Whip #1 Abyssal Whip #2 Abyssal whip #3 Abyssal Whip #4 Abyssal Whip #5 Abyssal Whip #6 Abyssal Whip #7 Abyssal Whip #8 Abyssal Whip #9 Abyssal Whip #15 Abyssal Whip #16 Abyssal Whip #17 Abyssal Whip #18 Abyssal Whip #19 Abyssal Whip #20 Abyssal Whip #21 Abyssal Whip #22 Abyssal Whip #23 Abyssal Whip #24 Abyssal Whip #25 (Codeword: Whipped Cream) Abyssal Whip #26 (Whoever said making fun of foreign people is bad was wrong) Abyssal Whip #27 (Yep...I still do it to this day and sometimes it works. lol.) 12. What's this? An actual viable suggestion for improvement on the magic skill? I'm shocked. Support.
  13. Sad but true story: I'd probably be in the 5,000-6,000 range. Happy but true story: I am still extremely successful in real life so it's okay to have spent so much time playing a game that relaxes and entertains me. :)
  14. Yep. One of the many irritations I have with other players while playing. If someone sees me, a level 137 with a Prayer cape on, they automatically will say something like, "Wow, a Prayer cape! You're so lucky! I wish I were you!" Two things are wrong with that statement. A. My Combat Level nor my Prayer Cape came from luck. They came from hours of working for cash and worshipping bones or killing monsters to achieve. And by hours, we're talking hundreds of hours. How can that be considered luck? and B. It's not hard to "be me." Lots of players are my level and far above. It's not like I just one day logged in and Runescape said, "Congratulations! Here's 137 Combat, 8 Level 99s, and over 2,200 total levels!" I have spent almost 4 years and probably thousands upon thousands of hours playing this game to be where I'm at. While I don't regret the time I've invested in playing, I will say that I wouldn't "envy" me if I were on the other side of the fence. I have spent a lot of time in the past 4 years playing Runescape when I could have, say, been working, or whatnot. Granted, that is not to say I don't still prosper. I made it to New York and am about to graduate from one of the best musical theatre conservatories in the country, so it's not like I've wasted my life away on RS. I just mean to say that I could probably be a lot further on in real life had I not been playing this damn addicting game for so long. In short, I guess it's to say, lower leveled players, or players who are poorer than you or don't have as good of items as you, tend to think that one day you just appeared out of nowhere and had what you have now. In reality, you've just been playing longer and have probably worked harder.
  15. A. Whoever said that the Level 95 Slayer monster was to be released? They said SLAYER CAVES. That no where implies there has to be a level 95 slayer monster. and B. You're level 90 right now? You better get your gear in motion if you want 5 Slayer levels by the beginning of January. lol. Edit: My apologies for the double post.
  16. Um...wow, thanks for telling us what our rewards will be for EVERY update next month. Good fight. That's so lame. Where's the surprise in the Behind the Scenes anymore? I don't want to be told what my reward will be until the update when I actually do it. Oh well, I guess we're now catering to the anxiousness of 13 year old children who can't wait until Christmas to know what presents they're going to get.
  17. Hehe...thanks guys. Yeah, I'm really sad Duradel is gone. But oh well. That's how the cookie crumbles. And turnp1kes, I think I would agree that posting every level is annoying if Slayer wasn't such an extremely hard skill to level around the last few 5 or so, but I think it's an achievement and each level is like a joy of relief, so I come post about it before starting the next stretch for exp. =-p
  18. Well, after the help of many hours of work and 400,000 experience from While Guthix Sleeps I have managed to level to 97 Slayer. Now I only have 2 more left for that gorgeous red and black cape! Come on 99 Slayer. ;)
  19. When has Dragon EVER been for stats over look and wealth? I'm sorry, but how long have you been playing? Did you know that the Dragon Chainbody upon released was selling at a steady 40-50M gp for quite a while? Dragon is and always will be for looks over stats.
  20. Let me put it to you in the easiest, shortest, most simple way possible: The Dragon Platebody has been the single, most wanted item of the Runescape community for over 5 years now.
  21. You're trying to tell me that 99 SMITHING is the hardest of all skills to train? So now forgive me, but I was under the impression Runecrafting and Slayer took FAR longer to train and many, MANY more clicks than smithing does. You need over 600 hours of slayer for level 99 without using a cannon, even with maxed melee and ranged skills. Does it take that long to raise smithing? Oh, P.S. quit being a drama queen. Food would not become scarce without fire and people would not quit. Get over yourself. Really. Oh, and one more thing: Change the title of this thread to ":::: 99 SKillS - THe OpINONS ::::" because there is certainly nothing factual about anything you have said.
  22. Am I the only one who's really sad they're all dead? Now Duradel isn't alive to watch me become a Master of Slayer. :(
