  1. A basket with tomatoes, strawberries, bananas or oranges work very well, is cheap and only take up 1 inventory space. i have tried them all. Baskets are easiest to stock up on in Caterby, tomatoes can be bought in Lumby basement RFD foodchest, bananas picked free on karamja. Personally I use a basket of strawberries since I have over 500 baskets of that in bank from farming. Bananas can also be bought on ape atoll. (use monkey tele and bring gree gree and mspeak ammy!) There are 1k in stock at the banana shop - just bring like 20 baskets and you'll be filled up in no time.
  2. Yep - I knew a lot of folks would know about these locations already, but I'm glad they helped a few of you out. :)
  3. ^ that said, this is a rather handy tool that will be extremely helpful for the lower level farmer, but somewhat less so for a higher level as they usually have a good handle on the crop cycles and the rounds you need to take. (At least I know that I do - usually a slay task takes up the time for herbs and especially bushes to grow fully - every other slay task and the belladonna is done... You get the idea.) I'll rank it a 9.6/10 (only because I think there's always room for improvement...) Nice addition, and thanks a bunch :)
  4. I have to agree with this - I've had herbs easily take 2.5 hours to grow (essentially double the time normally). My friends think I'm going crazy, but I timed it to the minute and never left the plot (logged out and logged in when time was supposedly up.) I haven't noticed it for trees, but I usually give fruit trees about 18-20 hours anyways.
  5. If you're going to make a new map make actually three versions (shouldn't be too hard if you were doing layering like you did). first version: teles like you did second version: non tele transports third version: everything in first two (would be messy though) Anyways, nice work again. :)
  6. nice map - here's a list of alternative ways of getting around that aren't teles (I'm sure you've thought of these, but just in case you wanted to add more... confetti.) :) Mine Carts Balloons Eagles Ships Canoes Carpets Random event ;) To answer your question, if I didn't have teles to get around, I wouldn't play any more. I remember how painful it was as f2p with low mage to walk from Varrock to Fally... I literally spent the first two days walking all over the place and being lost the whole time... this was back when I didn't realize there was a world map link. :wall: #-o
  7. I disagree... look what happened to the Barrelchest anchor... nerfed before most people even did the quest. Then came TONS of whining and they dropped the fee from 700k to 230k and upped its stats about 10-15% as well.
  8. What about "Auto Drop" It would save space and people can still get it if they want it? I guess that works :)
  9. Lol - I knew I got way off topic :) How about they remove burnt fish from your inventory when it burns? (not pies as they have a tin). It doesn't make sense that we need to have all that burnt fish, and it would sure help clean up the Catherby bank / range area from all that litter. But in a f2p quest you need burnt meat, and how would you get that if they delets all your burnt food? And there is people collecting burnt lobsters. I said burnt fish, not burnt meat, so that wouldn't be an issue (with the f2p quest). I thought about adding the others, but honestly most litter of burnt items isn't burnt beef/chickens, but rather lobs, swords, or sharks.. and most in catherby. Jagex hasn't shown that they truly care about the more loopy hobbies of the RS population... burnt lobby collecting being one of them. So honestly, I doubt they'd care about people having collections of them. As a sidenote, I don't see them removing them from the game (or any item for that matter), as that would instantaneously make a "rare" out of the item... which means the idea of useless items and their removal will -never- happen, and this discussion is mostly a waste of time. (Unless Jagex removed them from banks as well, which would never happen as well.) So enough from me...
  10. Thanks, but I'm not doing this for points. I'm doing a quick mini-guide that will help people if they need questions. (And now that I'm no longer bored, I guess I'll move along now.) :) Grand tree isn't nearly as good as the locations I've listed. Though, yes, it does sell oranges and pineapples. Pictures really aren't necessary, and though they might impress some of you, it's a huge waste of time for such a small and simple guide. Still, thanks though for commenting and glad you found it... 50% helpful  \

  12. Dock shops are located in Catherby, Brimhaven, Port Khazard, Karajama, Port Sarim, Port Phasmatys, Mos le' Harmless, and Port Tyras. (Catherby or Brimhaven are usually the most convenient on farming rounds.) I'll add this to the guide.
  13. UPDATE: Due to the recent shop update, the dock shops no longer sell pineapples or oranges. Bananas are now available in unlimited amounts, though oranges and pineapples are best purchased from the shop in the gnome tree stronghold. Or, in the case of pineapples, just use the "Talk" option with Arhein in Catherby, he has 40 in stock. Well, as I'm bored a little, here's a mini-guide to help you first-time farmers out there find the items you may need for protecting your trees and fruit trees: For purposes of the guide: I'll focus primarily on those items that can be easily bought from shops in mass quantities and not those that can be collected normally. As this is a mini-guide, I'll only cover trees and fruit trees for the time being. Also, while several shops may sell lesser quantities of these items, these are the best places to get them in large amounts. Trees: Oak: 1 Basket of Tomatoes (buy from chest from Recipe for Disaster, 50 in stock.) Willow: 1 Basket of Apples (buy from chest from Recipe for Disaster, 50 in stock.) Maple: 1 Basket of Oranges (buy from dock shops in Catherby*, 10 in stock.) Yew: 10 Cactus Spines (no shop sells cactus spines in stock.) Magic: 25 Coconuts (no shop sells coconuts in stock.) Fruit Trees: Apple: 9 raw sweetcorn (Farmer shops sell raw sweetcorn, but almost never in stock.) Banana: 4 Baskets of Apples (buy from chest from Recipe for Disaster, 50 in stock.) Orange: 3 Baskets of Strawberries (Farmer shops sell strawberries, but almost never in stock.) Curry: 5 Baskets of Bananas (Banana shop on Ape Atoll has over 1k in stock, bring baskets to fill up and remember to wear gree gree and mspeak ammy just in case!) (Dock shops have 15 in stock if you can't tele here easily.) Pineapple: 10 watermelon: (Farmer shops sell watermelons, but almost never in stock.) Papaya: 10 Pineapples (buy from dock shops in Catherby*, 15 in stock.) Palm: 15 Papaya (No shop sells papaya in stock.) Notes: If this helps someone, great - if you already knew this, that's fine too. I just wanted to offer a little advice for those people who get a tree seed and figure: "why plant this, it'll die anyways, and I have no idea where to get the fruits to protect it." Though I didn't use it for this guide, I am already aware that zybez does have a shop database that is somewhat useful. * These dock shops are located at several locations around RS - most convenient is in Catherby, then Brimhaven. You need to trade the NPC's on the ends of the docks in these (or other) locations. For more info on trees and payments for high level trees, please read Kama's guide: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=656580 Thanks, and happy farming~
  14. Agility isn't useless! *It's more like fitness IRL *The higher your Agility the faster you regain your lost running energy (Very usefull if you need to get to a specific location fast) *In RuneScape classic a thing called fatique was used. If reused in RuneScape today it would also be usefull having agility. *Adds realisme to the game. *People with higher agility tends to have faster advancing in skills (because they are faster getting to and from bank). Of course it's not useless for everyone, but among the 23 skills, it and firemaking rank 22 and 23 in terms of usefulness. As I said, it does round out the other skills, so I'm mostly okay with it. (What I'm really saying is that I'd really just like them to introduce a new use for it, not that it doesn't belong in the game.) Not to stray too far off topic, but some additions to agility could include: -More effective attacks or defenses with higher agility. -If they want to stick with the shortcuts, they should add some to CW where they could be really effective. (Like 85 agility needed to access an area where you can operate some killing machine like the catapult, or a trap-door machine or something.) -Agility at say 99? allows you to run at double speed (bar drains 2x - 4x faster though.) -etc. I'm sure there are others, but you hopefully get the point. Before the shortcuts were released, agility was completely worthless in RS2 apart from reloading energy slightly faster or going over the few obstacles that never needed to exist in the first place (ie logs/ropes/rocks/etc.). Anyways, some more useless items: -Bird Eggs (so far) -Necklaces (not ammy's) of ruby, diamond, dragonstone, or onyx. -
  15. Well I'll try to contribute something constructive that isn't just spam. Jagex already removed (or should remove if they haven't) a lot of useless items when they made it so you wouldn't get buttons, broken glass, broken arrows, etc. that you find in the drawers and chests around RS. Useless things: Agility: The whole skill. (Shortcuts are useful, but they never needed a whole skill for them... I'm waiting for an update  ) I'm okay with it being in the game though, as it rounds out some of the other skills. (So maybe I'm contradicting myself.) :? Farming / Herblore: -Gardening boots -Coconut shells (they should just disintegrate when you add the milk to the empty vials like buckets of sand do when you make glass) -Shovels/Rakes that lose their heads... no one autos farming, so a shovel that falls apart is just useless. (more to come maybe later... if this isn't locked.) Useful things: graphics and other details that make the game look a little more creative without cluttering it up too much. But, if you want to go that route... doors on banks which have no purpose as they never close, or on shops (which do close...especially when a noob decides to open/close/open/close).
  16. Great.... another way to train agility without introducing a new use for it.
  17. I think this would potentially make it difficult enough to over-abuse this in the wildy. However, I'm sure that some will argue that -any- use of a pot like these in the wildy would lead to abuse. If anything, it should lower prayer to zero (since you have to "pray" the different spell books on or off normally.) As a said a few posts up, I think lowering the stats (like aberrants do without the nose peg) would possibly work well enough. However, two to three quick sips of a super restore would make it possible that it could be abused.
  18. bump for any new thoughts / ideas / critiques / suggestions ...
  19. There's plenty of space -within- the wilderness that needs a tad updating before they should add new areas. However your idea seems doable. I'll remain neutral on this.
  20. I agree. Though I'm sure both you and I will try to enjoy the game as much as we can while it lasts. However, I will argue that many people play this game for the perceived value of their items or skills. If there were a sudden loss of confidence in future of RS (assume a loss of 25% of "core" players within 6 months, which is about 50-100k depending on how you figure), you can fully expect that the game would be severely diminished within about 6 months. The logic behind this is that if people collectively figure there's no more point to wasting time pursuing their goals on here, inertia only lasts for so long. (Also factor in that many people play because of the friends they have on here... more so for older players. If enough key "connectors" go, it's possible that many other players will follow.) (For more on "connectors" see The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.) Obviously Jagex can cut back on worlds and development staff to keep itself afloat and even rather profitable for years, but I think you get the point. We haven't burst the bubble yet, but I think it's clear that it's beginning to stretch considerably. I don't see the end of RS for easily 5 years (unless there is a replacement of some sort). Will it be as enjoyable to play as it is now in even 3 years? Of course not. But in some mutated-demon-hellspawn sort of way, it will be around, and most of us probably won't like it. (Jagex prove me wrong! )
  21. I've done all quests. But, back when I didn't do them all, I didn't do em for the simple reason I was focused on raising skills. Since I've realized and accepted that quests are a pretty fun part of the game (with many exceptions... ahem... rat catchers) I do them usually within a day to two weeks of them being released. I think many people don't do quests for the simple reason that 40-50 undone quests seem somewhat daunting. Not doing one or two isn't going to make you fret much. Recipe for Disaster is by far the only reason I went on a questing kick. At the time of its release I believe the quest point total was 210 (with 175 needed to complete the quest I think....and when I had about 120 qp). The barrows gloves as a reward gave me the impetus to do about 30-40 quests in 1 1/2 months... :) Trust me, if I quit for about 2 years and had 20-30 new quests to do, it'd take awhile to get back in the swing of things. But now, with just one quest in red or yellow... it really makes me put the hammer down. :)
  22. Lol! Wonderful... I just reached 85 today so I'm 1/4 of the way there... :)
  23. I dunno about crystal, but it did happen to Dragon Woodcut Axe You're right on that - I believe they upped the woodcutting level requirement, but I'm still not sure if they upped the necessary -combat- requirement. (Not like anyone uses the Dragon WC axe for combat anyways...)
  24. One Small Favor was the epitome of Jagex's approach to about 80% of the quests.
  25. more updates/time/engergy that focuses on attracting new players than keeping the ones they have...
