Why are you trying to log onto Runescape at school for? We don't help users get around firewalls (basically anything put in the way to block access to certain things). Sorry.

The top things one can expect from College / University...
I believe law is usually a graduate studies program. Most people usually major in something like sociology or political science, then go into graduate school for law. And yes, you can classes that aren't related to your major in your first year. I've taken a lot of social science classes and I'm a bio major. :) You'll need GE classes for your major anyways -- most colleges require you to take GEs so youll be an "all around" person. :)

how to make a pc faster
Remember to use your disk defragmenter. It lets your computer rearrange the data (it's like moving books on a bookshelf; everything will be there but the computer will know where it is and will combind "broken up" files). Defrag will speed up computer access times also. And if you know what you're doing, you can prevent certain things from loading up when your computer boots up (like background programs you don't need). Start -> Run -> msconfig Startup tab shows you what's starting up when your computer boots up (don't mess with anything else). Please only do this if you have some kind of computer knowledge. Or have someone knowledgable help you :)

NBA Playoffs time!
I'm sad that the Warriors kind of gave up in the middle of the season. I'm sure they could have made it to the playoffs. :( I really don't know who to root for. I guess I'll just root AGAINST the teams I don't like!

The top things one can expect from College / University...
You have your core classes; if you're a science major, you'll be taking your chemistry, biology, physics, etc. Every major will have GE requirements; you'll have to take classes that fulfill different requirements. Science majors will have to take sociology-type classes, soc majors will have to take science-oriented classes, etc. It's good for exploration and not having to take all type of class :) I'm a biotech major, but I've taken Asian American Studies and US History. I'm planning to take African American Studies next year so I can learn a few things. I'm also sitting-in for a political science class. They're all basically intro classes, but they're interesting and are much more fun than my chemistry class  About the major, the above post would be correct.

The top things one can expect from College / University...
1. Don't rely on the professor -- you'll be expected to be doing your readings ON YOUR OWN. Also, if you don't do a paper or turn it in late, expect an F (a lot of my professors don't accept late papers). :) 2. Curves -- these are fun and usually work in your favor. 90% of the time, your final and test grades will be curved (because a lot of professors are researchers, not teachers). Just be aware of the curve breakers! 3. Fun -- You'll have fun, since you're living on campus. You're starting on a clean slate -- almost no one will know you, except for friends from high school. Have fun and try new things! Answers to your questions: You'll need your basic stuff. Your clothes, bathroom products, shoes, sandals (for the bathroom, especially), a TV (for your video games, hehe), sheets, and a refrigerator. Of course paper, supplies, etc. Books cost me about $200-$300 per quarter. I spent about $700 this year on books; after selling them back on Amazon.com, I probably spent about $500. Big textbooks like your math book will cost about $100. Smaller books range from $10 to $60. Most dorms have cafeterias or dining commons for food. They force me to buy 90 meals/quarter when living in the dorms; that's about 1-2 meals a day. You shouldn't have to worry about food if you're living in the dorms. Walking on campus isn't too bad! Or try a bike, if your campus allows for it :) They lie. It will be different and it will take some time to get used to; my grades dropped the first quarter, since I wasn't used to the college environment. There's a good amount of homework per class, but you'll probably only be taking 4-5 at once. Most classes assign "optional" homework, which will help you study but is not mandatory. Most social science classes assign readings instead of papers most of the time. :) ----- If you have any more questions, feel free to IM me! I wish I had someone answer all these questions for me when I moved into my dorm last September!

computer starting toubles
Download spyware and adaware on someone else's computer, put it on a usb flash drive, and install it from there (sounds like you won't be able to do it any other way). Then, restart in safe mode. (Press f8 when your computer is booting up, and select safe mode). Run adaware, spybot and your anti-virus in safe mode; hopefully it'll catch something. It shouldn't be restarting in safemode. And if it is.. please say so :)
