west edmonton mall
With 1000 shops, I wouldn't know where to start. I'd prefer a smaller mall where I could actually FIND THE STORES.

If Microsoft were to fail? :S
Oh dear, Macs would be running the world. I'd never be able to heal anyone in Battlefield 2 ever again. :( *imagines the chaos and nub computers* I've never really thought about it.

Animals - Do they have rights?
I am in the middle of this issue. I do believe that animals should not be tortured, uncared for, abandoned, etc. If you're going to have a pet, then take care of it and don't abuse it. It's sad what kinds of things people do to animals. I've watched some shows on Animal Planet and the stuff some people do to their pets is absolutely horrendous :( Hunting. Hunting for sport has to be one of the dumbest "sports" in the world. It's an absolute power trip; alright, I killed this animal and I didn't even give it a chance! It is cruel and I don't see the point in doing it. Hunting for food is different, seeing that you are hunting and eating it (hence, continuing the cycle of life). I am however, split on animal testing. I am a biotech major and probably going into the research field, meaning that yes, I WILL HAVE TO test products somewhere. If I adhere to int'l laws, then I cannot test new products on humans until I have conducted years of clinical tests on animals-- there's no other way I can test the safety of the product. I do wish there was another way, but unfortunately there is not (at least at the moment?). Medicines and such things that we have today could not have been put out into the market without years of clinical trials on animals. I don't know. I'm split! :(

You need to be more specific about your problem. What is happening? Are you getting any errors? No one can help unless you tell us what you need help on.

Segundo is the nicest place on campus to live, IMO. It's away from the cows (poor tercero!) and seems much more lively than Cuarto. Cuarto seems too quiet for me, since it's full of suites (5+ people to one suite); generally, people in Cuarto would rather hang out with their suitemates than others outside. :) I'm also living in the nicest buildings in Segundo. I'm lucky. 8)

Fast food ice dirtier then toilet water
Most bacteria are harmless, but there are types of bacteria that will harm you. There are types of ecoli living in your body which helps your body digest food. Then there are other ecoli that are harmful; remember the uncooked meat ecoli scare? :)

Funny Videos (Inappropriate website)
This thread has turned into a flame war. The site that the videos are on is innappropriate (maybe not all of it, but what I saw on the side bars ARE). Links have been removed.

Fast food ice dirtier then toilet water
Well there are bacteria that have adapted to extremely cold and extremely hot situations (think of the bacteria that live in a geyser!). There are also bacteria that live deep underwater, on ice, etc. I really doubt this project. I'd have to try it myself or see more studies supporting this result before believing such a thing.

Women's suffrage
I do love how a lot of people have a warped view of communism. No, it will never work, but generally communism is not supposed to be associated with killing or censorship.. Communism involves everyone working together. Everyone is equal, and there is no government (a government would cause some people to be "more equal than others"). The communism in Russia and China would be more like.. dictatorship or fascism. It relies on human GOOD, not bad. I like the IDEALS of communism, but I know that it will not work. Human nature is incompatible with communism :)

College acceptance!
I live in Segundo right now, but I'm going to move off campus next year. I'm majoring in biotech and I'm planning to minor in Asian American Studies because I don't feel right without studying a social science. And yes, I know it's a weird combination. :)

eBay
eBay charges fees on the price of the item, not the shipping. They earn 100% of whatever the shipping cost is, but they lose some on the price of the item.:)

Brand spanking new hard-drive crashes!!!!!!!
Well if you need to use the computer for work/school, then definitely get one soon. I'd look at SlickDeals or Ben's Bargains for a cheap one -- I've seen a lot of HDs for sale online. :) I'm sure the guy won't be able to help you (since it sounds like the HD is defective). I'd send it back to the manufacturer.

Moron.
Well he gave it to you. I think that rightfully makes it yours.

eBay
It's bad to be addicted to ebay. I think it's even worse than NotSafeForYou, since your money is disappearing. Although, ebay has some nifty stuff for sale! I'm planning to get a cheap FM transmitter and car charger for my Zen Micro so I can listen to it in my car. ($10 as opposed to $40 retail)

Do you love the country you live in?
Well, I used to. :? The politics and policies of the United States makes me mad. The people too (well, sometimes).

Dorm living is the BEST. Hopefully you'll get to know your floormates! I'm looking forward to moving out next year, but I'm also sad to move out of this building-- I've made a lot of great friends in the dorms. I live with a randomly chosen roommate. My room is 20'x10' and it's quite nice. If anyone's coming to UCD, you can party with the Weez! Yes, it may be boring in cowland, but the school is great :D Down with socal.

Computer or Laptop
Well I'm a first year, and it looks like I could have brought my desktop here and it would have been fine. Being a science major, I don't bring my laptop to many of my classes (since it'd be foolish to be typing in math or chemistry!). It is nice to have the laptop in my GE classes (especially political science, Asian American Studies) in which I have to take down a LOT of notes. I'm sure I'll be loving my laptop a lot more next year. I'll be living OFF campus and I'll probably be hanging around the library more often; my laptop will be much more handy then, since I can't go back to my dorm (which is only 3 min from class) after every class.

Women's suffrage
Maybe that's why we have such horrible leaders! Educate yourself, and get involved. There's no excuse for ignorance!

GM foods!
GM foods are perfectly fine. They're only harmful if their DNA is manipulated in a way that the organism creates poisonous substances (which is not the case, or else the FDA would not allow it for human consumption), which in turn would poison you, the consumer. Think: if you eat an orange, you are literally eating its DNA. Will it harm you? No. What about a hamburger? Are GE foods any different?

Florida wins the NCAA championship!
Well I didn't see the game, but my roommate told me that UCLA got owned. Then my floormate (UCLA fan) came in and told me he wanted to kick someone.

Computer or Laptop
If you want to be able to carry it around, then get a laptop. A desktop will be much faster and much more worth your money. Since you're looking for gaming, you'll probably want to go with the desktop. :)

You all know you loved wrestling when you were younger. Just admit it. I watched Smackdown last week and it was so funny.
