  1. I usually reply with a question: - is that a problem to you? or -why is that a problem to you? whichever suits the situation best. MOst of the time they have no clue what to reply so they leave me alone.
  2. I completly agree with Hairdog and moopymitchell. There is NO reason to wait :) As a member you have a much more things to choose from when it comes to training and to choose what to do. Any skill is both easier and more fun to level up because of the varied choises you have in how to do it. If you for one reason or another have to wait a while before getting members, then look at the quest requirements for the members quests, and raise the ones you have too low. As prayers are very important in the members world, I suggest you work a little on that.
  3. Regarding ring of forging: my mistake. I was fully aware that the rings for teleporting was P2P only, but somehow I thought that ring of forging was for free as well. Seems I'm completly wrong here. Sorry Devnull, regarding different strategies. Keep in mind that we are trying to give advice to a person who know their ways around the Runescape world well - not to someone who is completly new to the game. That means that from a bunch of suggestions, they are themselves able to choose a good route in what order to do them. Suggestions for different strategies can only be a good thing here, that way way uber_leetness can pick what suits him best. What in one persons eyes is the best strategy, may not be the best for another person. Note to anyone interested: I am a she, not a he. QueenVal: Dont worry.
  4. A few more pieces of advice. Devnulls strategy is good, but I would like to tweak it a little. Kill chickens instead of rats. Bury the bones, save the feathers for later, and cook the meat. Its always good to have a few combat levels, makes you less vulnurable. Focus on attack so you can wield the pickaxe you will buy later, to save 1 space in inventory. Dont bother to smith bronze armour for yourself to wear. Go with no armour until you can make steel for yourself, if you plan to do some fighting that is. Otherwise just keep going with no armour, but eventually get yourself a halfdecent weapon. If you mine your own ores and then smith, I *think* iron is the way to go, once you are past bronze that is. So rings of forging is something you should invest some of your dear gp in. Keep in mind that mining coal is a true pain at level 30, so just keep mining and smithing iron as both your mining and smithing levels go up.
  5. Keep in mind that Chef's Delight raises your cooking depending on your level. I'm not sure what percentage it is, but the knowledgedatabase says: At level 65 I doubt it raises it by 5, raising with 3 or 4 sounds more likely.
  6. Yes you can definitly get randoms in bank, expecially when doing repetitive skills like fletching or alching. Keep in mind that many of the randoms are the kind that tele you away, that may be why you dont see many others get their randoms.
  7. I was going to point you to tip.it's guide, but you are right, it's not in there... I just tried it very briefly. I *think* you can get any seed, but if I remember correct, the main part of what you get is low level allotment and hops, then of course some goodies among them. Personally, I have chosen to invest in maple for the tree seeds (selling the logs give me my investment back so it's basically free nests + treeseeds), then getting my other seeds from drops and by thieving master farmer. I am sure there are posts here on the forums about it, will try and help you to find it. Edit: check out this topics: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=463052 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=512253
  8. Another option that I know many people use is being in building mode, and build the oak larders in the kitchen over and over and over again. No matter what, using oak planks for levelling is definitly the most cost effective :)
  9. I've fixed a bunch of them in my house, and gotten up to mithril. I have spoken to friends (with much higher level smithing than me) who also only have gotten up to mithril. So I dont believe you can get any higher. Best source for the damaged armour is definitly thieving HAM members. Personally I dont think the rusty swords are worth the effort, so when I go there (basically when I am in the mood to do level 1 clues), I just keep the damaged armour. For the swords a whetstone is enough, to repair damaged armour you need a armour stand (level 55 construction)
  10. There are sheep near Lumbridge, and a spinning wheel at Lumbridge castle :) I think this may be the easiest to find for you. There are also sheep outside the crafting guild, and a spinning wheel inside. I also believe there are sheep at the monastery, and a spinning wheel at Barbarian village. If you are P2P, the adventurers shop in Ardounge sell balls of wool.
  11. No, I have not gotten any challange scroll yet. I've killed every imp I've seen since the challange scrolls came out, other than that I havent really tried for them, but have of course killed lots of npc's for other reasons, like slayer assignments. No scrolls.
  12. Pick and spin flax: good crafting exp, and you will earn money from it by selling the bow strings - or keep the bow strings for your fletching later. Extreemly boring. Eventually you can get your miscellania pixel workers to pick the flax for you, saves you some time and is a lot cheaper than buying from other players. Build temple in mortton: Reasonably cheap, by far the least clicking intense way, and you can easily chat with other people there while doing it. Need to do quest "Shades of mort'ton", and it's also good to have done "in search of the Myreque" and "in aid of the Myreque". When you get bored, kill and burn some shades and loot the chests down in the tomb - where you will find swamp paste among the treasure in the chests, to use for more temple building. Dragon hides: costly if you buy the hides, a decent income if you kill green or blue dragons yourself - and if you kill the dragons you also get the bones, which give wonderful prayer exp, especially if you use them at ectofuntus or guilded altar. Or you can sell the bones, and buy more hides for the money. Glass to orbs, orbs to battle staffs: A long and varied process. The hardest part is to buy the staffs from shop, they spawn slowly so this means a LOT of server jumping. Good source of income. If you can do the quest "lunar diplomacy" and have magic high enough to use the spell Superglass, I highly recomment it since it gives you more glass than you have raw materials (how much more varies, but on average you get 1,5 times more). Keep in mind that the staffs cost 7 k to buy from shop, so the 9.3 k you get when you alch them is not pure profit - but still good :) Personally I did a little of each, since I'm bored easily and need variation.
  13. For what reason do you ask? If you just want to get the temple up so you can do the quest, then use world 2. If you want to get as much oil sactificed as possible, or if you want to build the temple for crafting exp, then you have 2 options. Either world 2 (or eventually 6 or 9 at peak times). Other option is to get a few friends together and pick your own world. To do this you need minimum 4 persons with decent crafting levels and flametear hammers who take turns to run for oil/bank. Teamwork and communication is crucical if you only are 4 persons - 3 persons need to stay at the temple building and killing shades, and not leave until 4th person comes back. We did this last weekend and had it going for over 5 hours (I made almost 400 oil). We had a great time, you get very nice crafting exp and can chat with your friends without distraction :) Quest "in aid of the myreque" makes it a LOT easier since it gives access to Burgh de Rott bank. Also keep in mind, its the temple building/sacrifying oil that require team work. Once you have the oil, the shade killing and burning is something you can do on your own. When looting the chests, remember to acutally click continue on the message "you find some treasure" - that way you have chances to find a good amount of swamp paste at the bottom of the chests :)
  14. your maths is correct :) and so is the guide  with 750 k in coffers, workers take max out, which is 75k. This way however, you need to add more cash daily to the coffers, to keep it at max. Because of this, game allows you to add more, so max can be taken even if you dont visit daily. If you put 7,5 mill in coffers, max (75k) will be taken out daily for 90 (91?) days without you having to remember to add more coins. You still should visit every now and then to keep your rating up though. Most people I know, including myself put between 1-2 mill in. Then we visit the kingdom to chop a few maples or do other stuff daily-weekly according to personal preferences, in my case I go there every second/third day most of the time. Then add more coins to the coffers every week/every second weed. Something like that.
  15. As far as I know, no monster drop better herbs than others, I mean that the percentage of a certain herb among all the herb drops from a monster is the same. So, kill what you can kill many of in a short time, bank run included. This means kill low level npc with good drop rate of herbs, close to either tele spots or banks. One of my personal favourites is the Edgeville dungeon thugs, as they also has a very good droprate of nature runes, and drop level 1 clues to break the boredom ;) Use miscellania for herbs. This is the cheapest way pay gp and get herbs back, much cheaper than buying from other players - but you cant get a unlimited amount of course. Make sure you have done quest Royal trouble, then invest fully in herbs, and partly in something else. Take a look at tip.it's guide for costs - and remember that is for herbs NOT including guam or marrentill. http://tip.it/runescape/?page=manage_th ... m.htm#cost Farming! Make sure you use supercompost, and are wielding the magic secateurs from fairy tale 2. Either get herb seeds by stealing from master farmer, or from monster drops. If you want to get seeds from monster drops, I suggest dagannoth under lighthouse. They drop a lot of seeds toadflax and up (so no ranarr :( ) + whiteberry, poison ivy, belladonna and cactus. In addition, many players who come there on slayer assignments doesnt bother to pick up their seeds. So yeah. Do all the above simoultaniously(sp?). Plant your seeds first thing you log in. Visit miscellania at least every second day. While your herbs grow, mix your pots, collect seconds, kill herbdropping monsters, get more seeds - whatever you need or feel like. Harvest and plant new herbs last thing before you log out.
  16. A few years ago when I shared room at work with several others, and there always was some (workrelated) chatting going on, I found that ear plugs helped me a lot. They dont take all of the sound out, and you can still hear people talk - but it's a lot easier to ignore it and focus on what you are doing. Should help you to ignore the TV I assume :)
  17. I almost never do quests the first week they are out. The reason is that the places the quest take place are crowded with people saying " what now, what now, what to do". *If* I do a new quest when its new, I just do it with public chat off. Antisocial perhaps, but I do quests for my personal enjoyment. I also try very carefully to *avoid* reading forum topics about new quests. I hardly ever use guides, the only real exception is the light temple puzzle at mournings end II. When doing quests, I wait until I am in the right mood AND have a lot of time - like on a weekend morning. When I get stuck (yeah, and I will get stuck most of the time  ) I try to figure things out on my own. If I get really stuck, I try to ask a friend for a hint, just a hint and not telling me straight out what to do. Only as a last resort I look at guides. Sometimes I die, usually for being over confident in my skills. ERm, I try to remember to wear a ring of life, but sometimes I forget. Sometimes I get really frustrated - but the feeling to finish a quest on my own is great. One of the worst quest experiences I had was the monkey part in RFD. first I managed to die to archer monkeys (out of monkey costume, forgot prayers, forgot ring of life  ) and loose greegree and m'speak ammy so had to redo part of monkey madness to get them back, and then I managed to burn the snake... One of the best quest experiences I had was doing fairy tale part II. I had no clue about what fairy rings was, or how many of them there were. Exploring it sure took some time, but I really enjoyed it :D
  18. .... and what does your quest journal say?
  19. Its all about maths. Colour value you get from the board next to the machine. Multiply it with number of borders of the token and yoiu have the numerical value of the token. Round token= 1 border, triangle=3 borders etc. The exchanger will give you back the same numerical value as you put in, but as different kinds of tokens that add together.
  20. I went to wildy course with a friend a few days ago. He was level 47, so I made him a summer pie so he could enter(give+5 agility). I *thought* the only level requirement was to enter the course, but I was wrong. Inside the wildy course, the pipe is level 49 agility to use. So he had to call another friend to bring him agility pots for the first laps, which was a bit of a hassle. Anyways. Once you are level 49, you can use agility pot to enter wildy course, and can then run it without problem. Once you are in, you will level pretty fast. Bring 1 or 2 friends for company, a weapon, and a few pieces of food. Dont eat until your hp get pretty low, remember that the damage you take from falling is related to your hp - the lower your hp, the less damage. Keep in mind that the skeletons can hit you, so evenually wear some cheap and not too heavy arour if your combat is low. Choose a server with few players, and dont bring anything you would miss if you loose.
  21. There are 2 different kinds of snakes that give hide: the ones that pop up from the buches you cut in the tai bwo wannai minigame, and the giant snakes you meet in the temple trekking minigame. Those both kind of snakes give hides that look different and cost differently much to tan. Once tanned they look the same, and result in the same kind of snake skin armour.
  22. 50 apples, thats all I buy there, so thats the only I remember
  23. Normal or not, it depends on your personality. If you have the personality of a pack rat - like I do - then your bank will always be full, no matter how large they make it. So yes, for some of us it's normal, for others its not. I've been a member from the start, and during the years they have enlarged the bank several times, but they always add more new items than they add bank space. Just do a clearout every now and then, and you should be fine :)
  24. The cheapest way of getting herbs except for farming or killing monsters for them is to assign your pixel workers on Miscellania to collect for you. Have to do quests Royal Trouble and throne of miscellania, details about how it works is here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=manag ... ingdom.htm
  25. Is this true? was my first thought when reading it, before reading the rest of this topic. So I googled for "bear gallbladder bile" and I did get a LOT more hits than I ever expected, from various sources. Checking some of those hits out, at least to me it seems to be true that bear bile is in fact used in Chineese medicine, and that bear farms do excist, in addition to hunting of wild bears for bladders and other parts - and that the black bear is an endangered species due to this. If the cruelty described is true or not I dont know.
