  1. It was definitely alot harder back then, in almost every aspect...lvling, money-making, etc. I remember when rune pics came out...took forever for everyone to get them, sine there was only one npc selling them, and he could only talk to one person at a time...the dwarven mines were as crowded as varrock world 1 for a few days. And fatigue...the most annoying update ever

  3. Do that in the opposite order. As for the on-screen keyboard, don't put too much faith into it, since some key-loggers take a screenie every keystroke/mouse click.
  4. There is no single good PC world, as good good ones are quickly filled with low levels, which then causes the world to become not good. Your best bet is to world hop until you find a good, and join a clan as soon as you can, though most are 90+ at least. Once you join a clan, then the worlds are alot better.
  5. F2p can wear the dark green gloves., though they don't really match Guthix very well.
  6. It's really comes down to what you want to do. If you like skilling, you could spend it on crafting, cooking, or whatever other skill you enjoy. If combat is more your thing, you could buy arrows for range, runes for mage, or use it towards rune armor or weps, if you don't have either of those yet. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the possibilities, then just sit down and think about a list of goals, short term or long term, that you want to accomplish, then focus your efforts towards those.
  7. I used to kill giants for big bones in f2p...if you can stand the crowds then it's decent money. Otherwise you could mine iron/coal, or do what the otehr people suggested.
  8. Only if you can get into a good 100+ clan, otherwise it's hard to find a decent world.
  9. Tip.It has a handy tool, where you can put in your stats and completed quests, and it will show the quests that you can do, and what is required for the quests you can't do. Simply click this link, then check the quests you've done, then go to the quests calculator, which has a link on that page. I do vaguely recall something like you mentioned floating around somewhere, but I really couldn't tell you where to find it.
  10. whip, unless you plan on training str.
  11. I'm too lazy to get the new holiday items. I liked it better when they just dropped them all over and you could pick them up any where.
  12. I basically agree with you. When people are scammed, it's nearly always their own fault. Of course, the scammers themselves are to be blame, but in this day and age people like that are a given, and they only thrive because of the ones uninformed enough to get scammed. In general I go by the old saying: fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. In other words, the first time you get scammed, usually its people taking advantage of your ignorance, which may r may no be your fault, so I find that excusable. However, if you repeatedly get scammed, its your own fault for not taking the proper steps to prevent it.
  13. Seems to me you've already made up yur mind...but I would vote for Owneh
  14. I'm looking for a pest control calc that, after you input your desired levels, will tell you how many points you need. I had it book-marked a few months ago, but its disappeared, so if any one knows one it would be great. I realize tip.it has one, but its the opposite of what I want.
  15. I got to lvl 85 by power-mining iron in al-kharid, arguably the best place in f2p since it has 3 rocks in one space, though it's far from a bank and can be crowded. I could get 40k xp hour with full concentration, though it dips down to 30-35k if you multitask or get out-mined. Playing 6 hrs a day, and averaging 35k xp per hour, you would get to 85 mining in 6 days (if I did my math right). And after that, you could use rune mining to make as much money as you want.
  16. I haven't played Runescape for a while (browsing through the archive, the last update I was here for was the Darkness of Hallowvale quest, in September), and I am now going to start again, and will get members in a few days. So, onto my question, what major changes did I miss? Or minor ones? I read about most of the updates, but I would appreciate a players perspective. Is hunter a good skill? fun, boring, expensive, pointless? Are the new lunar spells good at all? Any really good quests? Is the new mini-game any good? Thanks for any help!
  17. Mining rune is arguably the best way to mkae money in f2p, except for merchanting, perhaps. The respawn rate is indeed very long, around 15-20 min, so world hopping is the best way to get it in large amounts. Each ore sells for 10-12k.
  18. His math showed the hourly rate is the fastest that is possible, but nothing short of a machine could go at that rate for an hour, without messing up, or slowing down. That number also disregards randoms, and, more importantly other miners. I did exactly what you did when i was power mining, and in 10 mins got about 7k xp, which equals 42k an hour. In actuality, I averaged 40k xp per hour when I fully concentrated.
  19. If your pure is going to be f2p, this is a must read: Xp3nsiv's guide to f2p pure stats.
