  1. I'm also glad. It's one step closer to party hats and other rares dissapearing from the game entirely. Which is somthing I definatly welcome. I just don't think its fair that the people who bought them at low prices or got them from the drop are now extremely rich due to inflation. It will continue, until finally it ends. Then no more 'AFC' moneymaking. ... yeah, you have to put your [wagon] to the grind stone like the rest of us.
  2. My outfit while training is usually Whip OR D Scim Berserker Helm Dark Gloves Climbing Boots Glory Ammy Obby Shield Legends Cape Rune Plate Rune Legs For normal combat, it's the same except always whip. If I ever stake, I use torags top and bottom and obby cape. Same thing for CastleWars, except of course I can't use the obby cape or berserker helm.
  3. You know, he's really easy to find once you have done A Tail of two Cats. After that, you will ALWAYS see him in his house at burthope, and aside from that you can track him using the amulet of catspeak.
  4. I did that quest at level 34 agility. I felt like screaming, but I didn't. Guess what? I DID make it. Just keep trying, man. Now the quest I DID scream on was ME2. I didn't see the "70 agility reccomended" thing, and my being 10 behind that made it a serious pain.

Yeah, I have played as long as you have and am in the exact same position. No rares. Never had any, never will probally. They are always out of my reach by just a little bit. But you have to know, the people that have that stuff and those high levels actually WORK for them. They sit around for weeks at one spot to get their levels. Same for those who work for their phats. They get high levels and they use them to make money really quick. I know, you probally don't have much patience like I don't; I completely understand. But I bet one thing, if you leave, you will probally come back. I mean, since there are updates weekly, after being gone for a few monthes, I couldn't RESIST coming back to dive into all of the new updates (and of course be dissappointed again that carpentry STILL isn't out . I was all excited that they had lots of new D items when i was gone for awhile like d legs and chain, but just rolled my eyes when I found out they still don't have POHs)
  6. BULL crap on those dragon drop figures I killed like 200+ of a mix of irons and steels, and not a single good drop. And, no D med is not in in 2000. A lot of people there have killed 10k+ without one.
  7. Another good thing to add: Buy cowhides for 100-120 gp each in world 1 al karid bank; just shout "buying all cowhides 120 gp each" and you will have noobs with ammounts varying from 50-1k all over you. Then, sell them on the forums for 150-175 gp each. I haven't actually tried it yet because I'm too chicken to merchant.
  8. Here's what I would do: Send in a query to Jagex and ask them to change your name to somthing else, and state what you want it changed to, and also apologise and tell them that you didn't deliberatly make your name confusing. Do this quickly, because if they ban you first they won't listen to you in the ban appeal; they'll just think you're a scammer trying to get his account back. If they ban you anyway, well, then that only shows that the members of Jagex staff are disgruntled old suits who don't care about their customers enough to be even that lenient, and that they would have banned you eventually anway. Better to find out quickly then waste any more time playing.
  9. Karma dosen't exist. I do nice things for people all the time and never get anything back. Never had a dragon drop, or anything else worthwhile. Anyway, that was pretty nice of that guy. There did used to be a lot more people like that, but now you'd be hard pressed to find one. Too many pixil-grubbing kids. Due to that fact, you can never expect any kindness and are very shocked when you are shown some (Note that I'm not talking about beggars. People like that are usually just out to take advantage of kindness. Which is kind of odd since there is very little anyway...)
  10. It depends. I don't have many RS friends so I am pretty much isolated in the game. When I'm talking to people, I only lol when they say somthing fairly funny, even if it just cracks a smile on my face, if not a chuckle. I used to 'lol' WAY too much. I realized a long time ago that that word isn't a sentance enhancer, but it actually means somthing. People think you are kind of strange when you say it alot, even if they do too.
  11. They all give fair xp, but there are MUCH better places to train. Tolna's beasts don't drop anything, not even bones (so no prayer xp or bones to peaches). I get much more xp training on level 45 skeletons with salve ammy. And, if those weapons would be as strong as rune, then you'd have to buy them or somthing. Jagex dosen't just give out items that strong without making you pay for them after the quest or making you endure an actual challenge during the quest. Let's face it: the quest was short, even for someone not using a guide (I didn't have one and it took me 15 minutes), and just about any level 50 or so could do it.
  12. It was well made, that's for sure. It reminded me of a few scary stories I heard - RS style. But aside from that, it wasn't really that great. You only get a few hundred gp and very little xp rewards. At the very least they could have let you actually get xp for those high hits - no, I checked, they didn't. If you think for one second that anger weapons would be good outside of that quest, you're nuts. However that idea appeals to my sense of pure awe, logically, it would be a huge mistake on Jagex's part. A little newblet one hitting a level 126 becaue he got lucky isn't very fair. Although, if you're talking about it in terms of them NOT being so insanely powerful but just yet more useless tokens - well, that would probally be a good idea. I mean, you should be able to take somthing more than a few gp out of it.
  13. If you've done the 'A tail of two cats' quest, you would know that bob is NOT zaros. He was actually some giant called Robert the strong who could hit 50+ with ranged. That's still pretty good, but not godlike. Since the rift IS near the digsite, and in that quest there is actually a temple to Zaros, and since there are many omnious clues to Zaros's return buried there, it would be safe to assume that the 'evil spirit' that was messing with tolna's mind was Zaros himself. I mean, if you were a god sitting down in the depths of RuneScape gathering power, wouldn't YOU be kinda bored?
  14. There is only a very small margin in RuneScape for any kind of 'skill'. The only places where 'skill' is applicable is knowing when to eat, what spells work best, the proper inventory/equipment setup, and the proper strategies for taking on specific classes of player. Granted good knowledge of or lack there of these skills can win or loose a match for you, it dosen't effect the outcome all that much. What does effect the outcome significantly is the experience points you have in your respective combat skills, how rich you are, and largely, LUCK. I have never seen MMORPGs in which these factors play a significant role; even in games that have much more skill required than in this one, like aiming and firing bows; have tournaments with real world cash prizes. I don't realistically ever see it happening, even if they make some revolutionary changes in RS3, if there ever is an RS3 (doubtful on that one). The only good tournament games are ones; like mentioned previously; in which all contenders start out with equal means, weather it be the same gun, set of skills to choose from, sword, number of buildings and units as in third person games, or whatever.
  15. Changes NPCS back into their original forms, eh? Does that include werewolves when they jump out of their human skins into their level 88 ones? Eh.. on second thought, probally not. Werewolves are their original forms, their human form is just a disguise.
  16. Looking at the immense list of quest, skill, and quest point requirements to get the gloves, not to mention how damned long the quest is, I think the dark gloves' stats are completely fair. If they were tradable, I could see why you would be complaining - getting something so powerful for such a little amount of money is ridiculous. Newbs everywhere would have them. However, since you need to complete this quest in its entirety including the final boss which contains souped-up (more powerful but different looking) versions of previous quests̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ bosses, without prayer, and you need 175+ quest points and need to have done the hardest quest in the game, desert treasure, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll be seeing any level 60s running around with them, and probably very few people around level 75 that have them. Infinity gloves and Black D vamps also can be bought for GP without any requirements other than magic and ranged levels, respectivly. Granted infinity gloves are a bit pricy and hard to initially obtain, they are much more pleantiful than these dark gloves, and are tradable.
  17. Wow, lots of new weapons. And no more bankspace. Grr  (My bank only has like three rows left. I had to make a few sacrifices because directly after the 100th quest I had only like 4 SPACES left  )
  18. I get called a noob all the time for the stupidest things. Somtimes high level (100+; I'm level 92) players just come up to me, start following me, and calling me a noob. Yeah, that has actually happened. And today I was a noob for trying to buy 2k fires at 20k because they go for twice as much on the forums. Well sorry... but I'm not a rich snob who has enough money not to care to be ripped off. Anways... then I went to the magic guild and managed to find a full stock, and bought the 2k for 4-11 gp each - and 80% of those were under 10 gp ea, which is what I wanted to buy them for originally. I've gotten called a noob for not selling my whip/obby shield/obby cape/excetra/excetra, declining a 'good' offer of items for somthing I am trying to sell (because I'm trying to sell the item for cash... not get more items to sell...) and many other things. The ignore list is my friend. Or, better yet so I don't clog up the list that should be used to block out players who use abusive speech or scammers, I just ignore them alltogeher. If they feel like following me around, they can waste their time for all I care.
  19. So you need 175 QP to face the final boss... then QUEST a little. It's not that hard to get up to that ammount of QP, especially since all of the subquests leading up to it have a very long list of quest requirements, so you should have most of them done anyway...
  20. Ummm... recieving the xp reward isn't required. After you complete the quest, the guy who takes you to the hangar gives you the option of taking the training course. So pures have had D Scims for quite some time now... And yeah, this has only been posted like a bazillion times. And it's plainly obvious to everyone since it's right there in their spell book.
  21. u can buy moneky nuts in the store Yeah, but you can't get tikachi monkey nuts. Which are the nuts you are SUPPOSED to use.
  22. It actually IS possible:http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=423860 Ahh, didn't see that topic. Forgot there was a random events forum. If this merits locking, do with this thread what you will, mods.
  23. If not, then I guess someone can just sit down at the crab pen and alch all day without randoms. As far as I know, it IS possible to use high alchamy down there; I tellyed out. If they do have randoms down there and they aren't modified... well that would just look plain silly having a terrestrial monster attack you whilst underwater, now wouldn't it? There is a new underwater zone connected with the new quest: Recepie for disaster. You can't use magic or your ineventory when swimming, but when you land in the crab pen or the mudskipper cage, everything returns to normal; except you can't remove your helmet.
  24. Has anyone gotten one of these? There is a rummor on the Official Forums that Jagex has modified random events so that they work underwater (and don't look silly). One of them was the swarm. When examined it reads: "A Swarm of Vicious Plankton!" and another was Dr Jekyll with a fishbowl over his head and one of those air packs on his back. If anyone runs into one of these, please post a picture.
  25. No you can't. It's impossible to hit 100+ on a player because max player health is 99. Also, without a salve ammy on undead, you can't hit above I think its 85. The person prays at that alter in the desert, goes to cwars, and gets smashed by the cieling rocks. There ya go. 100+ hit. ...Or they drink a guthix rest tea directly before they go in. Or drink a sara potion.
