Wouldn't that be a little obvious? I mean, if Jagex targeted only the insanely rich players, it wouldn't take a CSI detective to figure out something was wrong, and there'd be mass quittings as a result. If they targeted the middle-class players and hit one or two rich people once in a while, then it'd be less obvious. Assuming, of course, that justagame's conspiracy theory is correct. I don't know if it is or not, so I'm of a neutral opinion on it, but these days, I wouldn't be all that surprised if it were true. If it is, then I'm glad I'm not rich, or even mildly wealthy. --Darg--

I'd be a little mopey for a few days, maybe a week, but I'd get over it and find something else to do. Besides, there's a Star Trek MMO coming out next year, so I'll probably switch over to that one whether RS is still around then or not. As for why it might die, well, in a word, noobs. One day, Jagex is gonna get plain tired of listening to whiney, begging, complainer noobs and say "Ferget it, we quit" and close down RS. Well, that's a bit "worst case", I admit, but I see it as the most likely reason. --Darg--

Well, why not? Ninjas and samurai are medieval for Japan, and JAgex does want to make the game more open to Asian markets... Besides, they already have pirates, and as any spamlord will tell you, ninjas and pirates hate each other; imagine the Wildy wars from that! Whoo! --Darg--

I thought about this idea for a while, too, and realized it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy to scam with, so I'd have to say no. Think about how many lvl 3 super-miners there are. Now think about how bad scamming would be with just as many lvl 3 super-crafters churning out thousands of either counterfeit or real coins per hour. You think the rare economy is messed up now? Imagine how bad it would be with that kind of inflation!! --Darg--

My thoughts: Human bones - Great idea, but only if they gave more exp than any other bones, otherwise they wouldn't be worth it. Also, the exp per bone should be a flat number regardless of level, as that would probably be way too hard to program, unless they did it like the combat random events. I have no idea if they should be tradeable or not, and people will scam anything they think they can get away with, why should this be any different? As for programming, it wouldn't be that hard; they'd only need to add one new item. Jagex has a harder time introducing new weapons and armor to the game, and they do that every few months. Personalized bones - Terrible idea. It would mean adding 500,000+ new items to the game for what? Bragging rights? No, this version of the idea is shot down nearly every time it's suggested, no matter where it's suggested, and for good reason; it'd be too long and complicated to program and incorporate into the game for something that would not benifit the game in any measurable way. --Darg--

That's still a heck of a lot of walking just to get an extra meager handful of runes. If I'm going to walk that far, I'll go to Varrock, World 1 and pay someone to get the same amount of runes, then go back to my training spot. When they came out with the Tiaras, I was hoping you could use them to make Runes without having to go on a virtual sabbatical to get to the Altar. Like, every 100 runes would drain a Tiara, so you have to recharge it with another TAlisman. And, just to make it less abuseable, the double-, triple- and other multiple rune bonuses wouldn't work when using a Tiara. So, a lvl22 RCer would still only make 28 Airs with a Tiara as opposed to the...um...*counts on fingers* 84 at the Altar, which would be a fair price to pay for the convenience of not having to haul yourself all the way to some far-off Altar. If that's still not enough, then you would also be restricted to only having one charged Tiara of any type in your possession at one time (think Scythes and all holiday items from that point on). As for Abyssal Space, that's useless to f2p. And don't say "just get members" because that will just degenerate this thread into another f2p vs p2p flamewar. Okay, great, p2p has something "useful" to make RCing easier (even though I don't see how it's more useful with insta-skull and full prayer drain, even with the new abyssal monster drops like pouches). If they want to do a useful update to essence carrying, they should make essence stackable, but with a stack limit of, say, 10 per stack. That way, you could carry up to 280 essences at a time. Of course, so it's not too easy to level, they'd have to lower the per-essence exp rate, but binding 280 essences would make the painstaking trips to the more far-flung Altars like Water and Mind worth it. --Darg--

If anyone can find anything on the official RS forums, then they deserve some kind of meritous acheivement award. I tried one time a few months...I still have a nervous twitch from the ordeal and the nightmares haven't gone away either... --Darg--
-
Yeah, I was priveledged enough to actually see that when I had members for one month; it was quite entertaining to see two 120s going at it...especially when you come back three hours later and they were still going at it! I don't understand why they changed it, though. I mean, it's pretty silly to make everyone have to go all the way to the Arena just to fight. If I was still a member and wanted to do that, I'd go to the Wild! They really should bring that back... --Darg--

Just something fun I'd like to see with the Make OVer MAge is a small "random event", where when he transforms you, sometimes you reappear as a goblin or a rat or something, then the MoM panics and recasts the spell and you reappear as you chose to appear, and he apologises. --Darg--
-
Complete? Nope, not gonna happen; RS is too open-ended to ever be complete. It's like RL; there's always progress being made somewhere. The only time RS will be considered "complete" is when they finally shut it down. Which hopefully won't be for many years. --Darg--

Yeah, I agree, it is annoying, especially when sheep shearing, but I think it's supposed to thwart autoers...though why anyone would need to "automine" dyes is beyond me...but then again, the habits of noobs usually baffle me anyway. --Darg--

Same here, and that would be cool. It would make me want to train Agility when I get Members again. But as described, nah, I don't see it. Granted, I'd love to have something new to smith, but this wouldn't work in the game. It's a nice idea, and you put some real thought into it, but the game mechanics just wouldn't support it, I'm afraid. --Darg--

Translation: "How can I train my RS2 account on RS-C? I CAN'T! They should add quick-drop. Why not? When my inventory is full, instead of dropping one at a time, I should click once and they all frop like dying. It isn't the same as RS1." At least, that's what I caught... Anyway, like I said before, Jagex doesn't like powerminers almost as much as they don't like autoers, which is why you can't quick-drop your inventory. And what I meant about RS1 is, if yu don't like dropping ores one at a time, go back and play that one. I know you can't transfer the exp, but that's not my problem. If you want to powermine (which Jagex frowns on) find a different way to empty your inventory.

It's an interesting idea, but it would make the game too complicated. I think that respawning in lumbridge is fine. It's only a game, after all, it doesn't have to be that realstic. It's obvious that you did put some effort and thought into this, though, and if you can develop it into some kind of a quest, then you might have something. It would certainly be a far more interesting quest than the usual "gather this, kill that" quests that have been coming out lately. Well, from what I hear, anyway, as I'm only f2p... --Darg--

Bank trading was replaced with bank notes and was going to be the same as trading now, meaning both players had to be logged onto the same world at the same time, but instead of trading through inventory it would have been through the banks. --Darg--
-
There's a reason you can't quick drop...JAgex doesn't like powermining, which is why you can't keep mining/fishing/woodcutting when your inventory is full. If they had a quick drop, then that would make this particular feature unecessary. If you want to powermine, go back to RS1. --Darg--
-
I dunno about that...I've had golems attack me on my first rock of the day while mining before. Random events are meant to be random; therefore, they will happen at random times to random people for random reasons. --Darg--
-
Bad idea; it would create too many complications and confusion for a minor thing. The only thing that you can do is create a new character and choose a new name that you'll like better down the road. Yeah, it sucks to have to start over from scratch, but that's how it goes sometimes. --Darg--
-
Uhm...yeah, whatever f2p gets, p2p gets automatically. The only reason people say "X for f2p" or "f2p should get x" is so that all players will benefit. --Darg--

The only downside to teleing is it doesn't take you everywhere instantly, like the lazy noobs want. Personally, I don't mind teleing to Fally, then walking to Draynor, Port Sarim, Brimhaven, etc., but I know a lot of people who think that it's boring and takes too long. The "real" downside is that most of the tele spells are somewhat high-leveled, especially the p2p teles, so not many non-magers want to raise their magic that high. OF course, it could be argued that it's just being lazy again, but I know that if I had had the choice, I would've invested in a horse instead of magic as it was a royal pain for me to train (I prefer to train mining rather than combat) --Darg--

Oh, well, that makes sense, then. In that case, sure, it could work. lpinkus: Sorry, I didn't mean to sound that way... --Darg--

Hey man. Would the stalls at this flea market cover all items, even things like tinderboxes and spades? lpinkus Yep, anything that could fit into one slot in your inventory except gp and untradeable things (like certain quest items or the new holiday items), since that would be pointless. You could put up a tinderbox, a party hat, 1,000 arrows or a Rune Plate. Now, whether anyone actually bought what you put up (like burnt fish or other "pointless" items) is up to the other players. All this talk about Auction Houses is interesting, too, though, and possibly more fair than a flea market idea. Of course, if someone wanted to sell their coal at less than street or auction price with the same ease as the auction house, then they should have a system to do that in, too, methinks. phreaknet does bring up a good point about POSs...if the players are allowed to open their own shops or stalls, then there should be a limit to how high the prices can go. For example, a tinderbox would be limited to 1g to maybe 8g, Rune Plate would be 64k to 90k, etc. I don't know how that would work for the grossly overpriced "rares" (just to tick off the merchants, it would be the high-low limis would be 15% the General Store price, which is somewhere around 26g, I think?), but I figure if you don't like the limits of the POS, then you can sell person-to-person like now, and buyer beware. --Darg--

I can see this being added to the current staves, myself. I'm not a Pker, but I can see how that would be annoying. --Darg--

Is it really that hard to sort it yourself? I mean, just switch it to Insert and organize it how you want. Woodcutting is harder than that... --Darg--
