  1. They actually give two less than Admiral Pie. I didn't think of that. I might make some pies. I am not wondering because I need a fishing boost. I am more thinking along the lines of speeding fishing up a touch.
  2. I am asking not so much for herblore experience, but for the value added to fishing. Are fishing potions worth the effort to increase fishing, or does the bonus given run out so quick that it really isn't worth the time spent to make them. I am thinking their real value is really for things like getting in the fishing guild when you are a couple of levels shy and things like that. I am guessing the bonus would stack with a fishing familiar too? Thanks
  3. Yep, I never really calculated it either. I might of had a general idea at the time, but I long since forgot. It is probably one of the best spots for f2p range training though once you get your range to a decent level. And having decent defense helps to tank when they are agressive, but you are going to be safe spotting as much as possible, so this shouldn't be to much of a problem unless you have no defense to speak of.
  4. Nice guide. I have been pretty much using this method myself for years now. Thought I would check it out and see if there was anything I haven't thought of though. I reply to ask why would you need eye of new for f2p. I am trying to think and it only has use for a quest in f2p if I am not mistaken. Unless you have it in there for gathering purposes for herblore when you go back to p2p? I also ask because I almost without fail forget to put in one or two things when I go f2p, and then I am like d'oh. Usually just small insignificant items, but items that are handy to have for a certain skills in training them. I am the type of player who would rather have tinderboxes and such then have to go to a general store every time I need one. I know some people say they are cheap and easily available. True. But I prefer the convenience of having everything I need in my bank. So, what's the eye of newt for?
  5. Don't mean to hijack. But before long I am fixing to superheat at least 4k, more than likely more mithril bars. I imagine there will be some addy ones too. I was definitely planning on using them for range. Arrows/bolts. So I should make bolts over arrows huh. I alread have 85 fletch. I have around 65 or 75k iron and 102k steel arrows already. I got to 76 fletch just doing arrows! I have 80 range. I pretty much train range when I am f2p, so the arrows were always my best choice. At the same time I feel the steel are probably good enough for training on f2p. Back to question at hand. I should save the mithril and adamantite for bolts I am assuming for when I am p2p? They are going to be the better choice even though fletch experience is less. Ima be cool when I get 90 fletch anyway. Hell, I am happy with 85. I don't have to have 99 in everything like some.
  6. Everytime I take an extended leave of absence I more or less just pick something to do till I kinda get back in the groove. Listen to people on the game and what they say. Although a lot of it will be nonsense. Just do something you liked before. Kill something. Mine something. Smith something. Cut trees. Fish. Try your hand at a quest. Just do something till you get back in the groove as I said. At least that is my approach to coming back. Regardless of being gone a couple of years, you still would remember how to do certain things I would think? No one at this point can really tell you what to do because what should I do is pretty vast and vague at this point. Edit: One good way to catch up would be to read forums and kinda see what is going on. But being gone that long a lot of what is going on might be unfamiliar to you.
  7. I would disagree with that. But yep, playing till you get back in the groove of things is the route to go. Then when you get familiar with the game again, you should be able to get as much help as anyone else can from this site. I myself have had extended leaves of absence. I know I will always come back to play eventually. But breaks from things are nice. don't know if you really had plans to come back to the game, regardless. Welcome back!
  8. No I haven't. I don't want to risk losing mine trying to get them back either in case you can't already have them to get another set. And I don't want to waste the time to find out to be perfectly honest if someone already knows the answer to the question.
  9. Is there anyway to get the slave shirt, robe and boots back from tourist trap quest?
  10. Your kill count resets when you leave.
  11. I am not doubting you or putting you down or anything to that nature. But there are five mith rocks if I am not mistaken and two adamantite rocks there. Mithril roocks respawn quicker than adamantite rocks. I just think you would have a higher percentage of mithril bars to adamantite bars than what you have figured. I have planned on doing this exact same thing when I go back to being f2p. But then the way I figure on doing things may be diferent and you got it all figured out how you would go about doing it. Anyway, sorry if this posts annoys you. It is not meant to be. I am sure with 98 mining you are aware of how fast they respawn. Just thought I might draw that to your attention on the off chance...
  12. There are four logs right outside the bank in Lumbridge castle you could light to cook on too.
  13. I would love to see a new slang and acronym guide put out. I know there is one on the tip.it site. But it really doesn't have that much in it. I use the forums some, but not enough to be hip to everything. Examples: MTK for Manage thy Kingdom and BGS for Bandos Godsword. A lot of them are fairly easy to figure out with just a little though. I have occasionally read an entire thread though and wondered what the hell something meant. It can be annoying sometimes. I could complain and say that people should just type things out, but that would be a lost cause. Anywho. I personally would love to see one if anyone feels like putting the effort into making or updating the one already in place. Edit: Also, possibly with things like pure sets. I see it mentioned in guides and in threads quite a bit. I don't know what a pure set is. I have a general idea of what I think it is, but I don't know for sure what it is.
  14. Yep. Thanks for actually linking to a calc Lord_Diddy! Could someone link or at least give an address for the other one?
  15. I couldn't imagine anyone spending a lot of money on a broken axe just because it is rare! Goes to show you how silly Runescape players really are. GTFOH
  16. It has all pretty much been said already, but... I got ability to make Slayer Helmet first, then I bought the ability to make rings then bought the fletching one last. Just been saving the points since.
  17. You can ask someone for one I believe. I got a pile of em a while back. Pretty sure I went down in the dungeon where you did the quest and asked someone for another one and dropped and asked for another one and so on till i had a few. It was kind of a hassle. Almost positive you can ask an NPC for one. I suggest going to the quest guide and seeing who it is you get it from and trying that.
  18. Love the guide. I went from 70 to 80 range several months back because of your guide. Took me about a week I think? Maybe two? I personally just used the coif myself though and had no problems. But I have fairly high defense and with all the safe spots...I didn't find the need for any food either. It just took up inventory space so I quit bringing it. Definitely a good spot to camp out on f2p if you have the patience for that type of thing. Thanks!
  19. I definitely like your idea Theoknight2, or something along those lines. The way I play sometimes it would be nice to have my normal teleports and say something like fertile soil or something. I know there are other ways to get around such as fairy rings, but it would be really nice if there was a simpler way implemented to use spells from different books. Even if it involved having to do some really hard quest or something. It would be love.
  20. I would say anytime is a good time to get membership. I did have most of my f2p levels fairly high before membership. The thing is though, with p2p you have so many more options when it comes to pretty much any of the skills, thus making it easy and more fun. I am not big on mini games, so I don't play them. But they do say that a lot of them such as Stealing Creation are really good for increased experience in skills. Regardless, I think you are gonna find regardless of your levels p2p is definitely worth it. I would say if you have the money, there is no reason not to get membership now. Plus, the sooner you join up the sooner you will learn about all the different things that are in the p2p parts of Runescape.
  21. I play p2p when I can, but a high percentage of my playing career so far has been f2p and I say no. I saw something mentioned earlier about monsters. I know personally rune is plenty good against any of the monsters on f2p for me. I also agree about the point that if Dragon items became f2p then eventually it would be something else such as Bandos items or something.... I wish I didn't have to play f2p as much, but I suppose those perks for p2p make it really sweet when I can play. Although, I would have to say with those new cards at Target they have make it easy I suppose to get membership where the reason for not having membership is because of payment options. That isn't my problem so much as other reasons. But I think they definitely are making efforts to make payment options varied and easily accessible. I mean come on. If you truly want to play p2p, what is stopping you? Unless you are like me and it is just life situations for me more than money. Seriously?
  22. I will read you last post and see whats up and edit this one with any input. But if you have 16M to spend for 1,980,000 shards, you would have to recycle 7 times I believe I figured after your initial shard purchase to get that many. It is enough money no doubt, but a lot of recycling. But I am guessing you really don't want a butt load of pouches left over. Edit: Well if you have the 53M to spend initially then recycle them all for shards and sell, you still spend around 15,972,173. Thats pretty close anyways. So you are looking at spending 16M to get those levels. So you are looking at 16M on shards. I guess the primary Ingredient is a no brainer as far as costs?
  23. Still working on my farming run. Thought I would stop by real quick though. What you are wanting to know is the initial investment in shards. Exactly how many pouches you will initially need to make, then turn in for your 70% return of shards to have just enough left to make the right amount of pouches without any or to many left over. This is gonna require an equation which is a little bit more complicated than simple math. (And it can be figured with the right equation) Or just crunching random numbers till we get it right. It is gonna take me a minute after I get done with my run to figure out the proper equation. Edit: Without using an equation, you are roughly gonna have to buy between 58 and 59 percent of your shards initially. At 58 percent of your shards with the number of 1,980,000 shards needed, at 58 percent of that number you would have to buy 1,148,400. The return of shards at 70 percent would give you 803,880 more shards for a total of 1,951, 880 shards. So with that number in mind, you would need an initial investment of 28,710,000 coins for shards.. If you bought 59 percent of the shards, your shard return after exchange would leave you with having 5940 shards left over if you only needed 1,980,000. That should give you a pretty good idea of how much you need for shards if you exchange all your pouches at 70% shard exchange rate. If anyone can figure out the equation you could come to an exact amount, or one that would leave you with fewer shards left over. Or you could crunch a little harder without the equation to get it closer. But this is ballpark. Gonna be pretty close. Of course you could always turn the pouches in you made from the shards you got from the first batch of pouches and not need that much initially. But then you are talking about doing some serious crunching on numbers or an even more complex equation. If that is what you really want to do. Go with what you have to spend and when you get closer to being finished it will be easier to figure out how many pouches you need to exchange without making to many or having to many leftovers if that is something you are trying to avoid. Are you wanting to have only a certain amount of pouches left over. Are you trying to do this without having any or not having over a certain amount. I am certainly guessing you don't want any leftover shards, but I suppose you could always sell them if you did. I am just trying to figure out what all factors are involved here in your little endeavor.
  24. What is the rate? 75% return on shards? And how many shards to make each pouch? You are going to have to give a little bit here. I am not doing all the leg work. Edit: I am fixing to do a farming run, and I don't check the boards during farming runs. you give me a few more numbers I will help you out, unless someone else sees this and helps out firs. But as I said, I am not looking up everything for you to figure it out. You give me some more numbers that I asked for and I will crunch them for you though.
