  1. 1. Magic with protect melee/magic. 2. Just mage them with protect melee on. 3. Low weight, ideally monk robes (protect from melee all the way through), spotted or spottier cape and boots of lightness. 4. Pretty challenging, but theres a few tricks you can use. Ice npc - cannon works there Shadow - theres a new safespot Blood - its possible to trap him in the gate/fence Smoke - very simple, just protect and mage away.
  2. Sara brews and recoils should work too.
  3. Granite lobsters and fruit bats are the only worthwhile ones which I know of. With both you can either scroll or trade back. If your scrolling any location will work (Travely with your house located there is the quickest BoB accessible one). I noticed the fruitbat one last night was a nice trick. I'm not sure on the actual time difference but I prefer to do 120+ in one go then repeated running back and forth (and the annoying "this is not your familiar" text). ATM fruitfall scrolls sell instantly (due to the GWD) so it works out at about 8gp per exp, if your paying 25gp per shard which you shouldn't be. If your paying 20gp per shard (RSOF has people always selling at 19/20 gp per shard) its only about 4gp per exp. I've not hit the level required for granite lobsters so I honestly can't say.
  4. With willows you can make about 3k per fully grown tree, so its better to pay the 1k and make 2k profit then loss the seed and the profit. ps this is profit via willow branches
  5. With fruit bats you can take baskets of bananas, then scroll/swap them and repeat. With a tort full of baskets of bananas and using the orge location its quick exp. The others I have no idea of.
  6. Daggonoths are about 100k cash per hour at the most when I tried them.
  7. Got my goblin on at hobs when I was getting KC.
  8. Replace the veracs with sara or zammy blessed hide legs and replace the dhide body with the other god. Snakeskin boots. With a bunyip you'll be fine.
  9. Personally I wear my best prayer/offensive gear and piety. At lower levels just defend the void knight for easy points.
  10. viewtopic.php?f=113&t=789871 So maple, fishing, flax then coal.
  11. Log out then back in. Sometimes fixes issues like this.
  12. Ghostly robes?
  13. Use the golds on crabs. Then hunt penguins for some nice exp. After that stick slaying and penguin hunting for charms.
  14. A dedicated server like the ones I was linking come with a few web things, but and its a big but, you can do what ever you like with them. A dedicated or leased server is pretty much yours to do as you wish. Anyway I posted those as an example of pricing and bandwidth limits. The big numbers your talking of aren't that big. Random drops could be simply a drop list then a random generated number. Movement/Chat simply table of x,y and text getting read and being written to. The server based stuff is very basic at the most random number generation, database read, calculation, database write and return the value to the client. The art of making a good server reliant program/application is to offset as much work as possible. In this case Java goes a hell of a lot on the client. Of course like cooldog08 and a few other have said Jagex would have to tell us. Worth asking them at the next Q&A it they can give a rough idea on how it all works.
  15. I'd add 70 range to that too as karils helps a lot.
  16. Thats a windows installer issue. Try installing the latest windows installer. You seem to be having some bad luck.
  17. True but I'm sure they get discounts since they always have 4 or more in one locations.
  18. Jagex won't have there own servers they will just rent or lease them from a data center. http://www.webfusion.co.uk/dedicatedservers/ http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/dedicatedservers/ Note that unlimited traffic on all dedicated servers. Normally with a dedicated server your only restricted by the server itself, the traffic doesn't come into play too much. You cache the images/models, animation sequences and so on when the game is loading. Most of the time all the data that is sent is merely a few bytes. The server then returns all the new variables and Java displays them. Your not actively pulling textures, models or other large files all the time. The loading time between sections is mostly client based. At most your receiving the tile map of that location. Each server acts on its own, but is synced up with the master server at a given time. This is why during the crash code instance servers where going down on there own and not altogether. As for how powerful the server would have to be moderately, but nothing amazing. Remember that most of the time its just reading/writing/querying the database(s) behind the game and then returning the values. About 80% of the work (if not more) is done on the client; all the rendering, calculations, etc. The 10 million players downloading 50mb at a time is bs. One or a few master servers send the update to the other servers, these then send them out to the client. Your talking 2000 downloading 50mb at the one time at most.
  19. 1. I know very little of them so I can't help much at all. 2. Bandos with a decent team (your stats allow you to get into the best teams) is pretty good money since its about 15-20k per kill in drops. With the chance of getting a split or item fairly high since you can afford low numbers in your team. 5 attackers 120+ and a guthan tanker can make a lot of gp in a few hours. 3. I believe its best duo'ing if you plan on meleeing them. But I've not had much experience there and never tried melee. 4. From the guides I've read its not that dangerous as your essentially 3 iteming and its an easy location to get to if you die. Shouldn't be too hard to find a team.
  20. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?swc New calc \
  21. I pray melee with 5% attack/strength, with a zammy brew and super strength. About 4 prayer pots will be enough. If you stand next to one of the U's in the east/west sides they will auto attack you like crazy and is ideal to semi-afk'ing. As for safing and hally the main reason I pray is speed, with whip and defender and a familiar I kill them pretty damn quick.
  22. http://truthscape.com/html/ts_Aviansies ... rofits.htm There are only 2 worthwhile rare drops from aviansies, well pricewise 1. This means when one of your common drops is replaced you have a 1 in 4 chance that common drop will be replaced with a better drop. I've tried both and noticed I walk away with more coins, less bars and after selling the bars less money with the RoW when compared to life or archers.
  23. The fastest no-luck way of gaining money is to farm (kwuarm, ranarr or snapdragons and marigolds) in between green dragon or avainsie trips. The cash per hour from greens and avainsies is 300k+ (400k per hour is possible) if done right and the farming will net in the region of 100k (110k if you farm per harvest cactus spines) which works out at ~550k to 660k per 1h 30m. But get fury first as its one of the best investments I've made. Then guthans/veracs then a fremmy ring and then a GS. In truth a GS at your levels wouldn't be very worthwhile, any GWD team will want atleast 100+ combat. I don't know about soulwars, but with PC you need 100+ combat for decent points and whip/rune defender its better.
  24. 1) Granite mining for sheer exp 2) Use the spirit Kyatt teleport, mine iron ore then bank at either edgeville or cwars (I used cwars with a glory as backup). Its extremely quick compared to anything else. BTH I don't know if granite is worth the extra hassle.
