My New Computer - Anyone wanna give some hints?
Ok, here's my view. Don't add any more ram for the time being (your using a 32 bit OS so it won't be recognised) As for the video card, only get a new one if you plan on playing games which aren't flash or Java. As for which card, I would get either the 8800GTS 640mb (I'll explain in a sec) or the 8800GTX (not the Ultra its a waste). Why the 640mb version, well the resolution your gaming at isn't mega high, but any game (newer ones) running at above 1024 by 1280 will need more memory to max the settings effectively. And now more then ever games are demanding more video card memory to play on high/max. So to future proof your purchase go don't look at the 320mb version. Ps I saw a amazing deal on a 8800gtx on a Canadian site, I'll have at look for it for you

making a login page like rs's?
A login page can be done in many programming languages. I personally would do something with php and MySQL (my `hobby` language). [hide=how I would go about doing it]Who I would go about it would be having a login pages which looks at a database and checks the user name and password (99.99% of login pages/programs will do this) past by POST and maybe using AJAX to give a speedy verification. If the login is successful a session variable with the user name is created and the page redirects to the game page. I would have the a fail-safe on the game page which redirects back to the login or main page if someone tries typing in the address to the game directly (basically if there's no session variable redirect a page of your choice).[/hide] Of course due to the number of languages you could uses there are hundreds if not thousands of ways to do a login page/screen. PS. I've never done anything at all in Java so I can't help you there.

i need help badly! i got torjan-how ever you spell it-
How did you find out you got it? Odds are your AV(AntiVirus) caught it. I would reboot and start up in safe mode (F8 when windows is loading) and do a virus scan and a few ad/spy/mal ware scans. Also what AV and anti spy/mal/ad ware programs are you using?

Transferring files from old comp to new.
Using the old harddrive as a second drive on your new pc would be the fastest and easiest way of doing it. CD's you would have to make over 15 of them which means burning and copying 15+ CD's. Lan, Never tried it, the max speed (transfer wise) wouldn't be as fast.

3 September 2007 - The Path of Glouphrie
:wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: Way to go Jagex, now any noob can PK a abyss RC'er. The only way Jagex could even justify this is to finally introduce the last runes to RC'ing. Its like the trench only 10 times more annoying. EDIT This is why Jagex have done this:

Just about to pay for a web host...
Thanks for all your help. I just found this site which seems to offer hosting for nearly nothing ( ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã9.31 pa, for 1gb space and 10gb bandwidth, with php and mysql). Can someone have a look over it and tell me if I'm overlooking something? Ps. I know I would have to buy the domain separately.

Building a computer - what should you know?
All processors come with thermal paste just some are pre applied. Pre-applied/shipped with thermal paste isn't too good, good thermal paste (like the stuff I posted) will drop the temp by between 1 (Arctic silver clam by the minimum of 3) - 12C. Even if your using the stock heatsink  . Tigra00, good to see your checking the thread.

Building a computer - what should you know?
[hide=snipersas list of parts] [/hide] For the Case I would drop the $200 one and replace it with this or this , but cases are largely down to personally preference. For the ram, why not replace it with this as you get the same cas, frequency and amount of ram, but in 2 slots instead of all 4 slots. PS the price is only $10 more. Heatsink, I would replace it with this as you can attach up to 4 120mm fans to it if you decide to do massive OC'ing. Also its $20 cheaper. You also forgot to get thermal paste, heres some brilliant thermal paste. With the cash you save from buying a cheaper case and heatsink you can buy a bigger Harddrive.

Try a P2P program like FrostWire.

constant overheating
Download a program called fan speed. See which part are heating up the most (using the temp monitoring features) and post back here with the results.

Keylogging problem, all my fault.
Ok, first off reboot your pc and when windows is loading hit F8, and select boot in safe mode. Log on as you normally would. Now run AVG and scan your whole pc. Once AVG has scanned run Spybot search and destroy Then Ad-Aware. If you get any virus' with Trojan in there name write down the name. Reboot your pc as you normally would and do another scan. If the same virus pops up google the name of the virus (hence why you wrote this down). Then follow the instructions on how to remove the virus.

Help me find...
Depending on the layout of your case/fans I would offer different advice. If you must have more fans I would look at this and this both fit into a single 5.25" bay (the Kama can be used over 3 if you really wanted). So you can have 2 of either or one of each. I have never used either so I would look into them a little more if you like them.

Sometime i just... got no internet connection!
Go to this site and Enter DI 624 (which should be your router model, best to double check it first though) then check the revision and download the latest firmware. Follow the instructions on how to install it. If this solves the problem then its great otherwise I'm stumped as I've never used a cable internet connection  , but it might just be a firmware issue which the above would fix.

Reccommend me a program!
You could try GIMP. Its what I use, but it isn't to kind to new users.

good way to kill turoth quick
For speed slayer dart wins. Followed by the spear with black mask. Never tried ranging them as the arrows cost way too much for me  . BTW: if you stand in the grey area near the stones you can mage/range them free of harm.

CPU Heat?
There are not processors that don't generate heat. How ever there are some which generate heat less then others. Processors to avoid; *Celeron - lower versions of pentium's, performance wise they suck and heat wise they are only slightly better then pentium's. *Pentium (mainly 4 and Dual's) - they generate amazing amounts of heat, pentuim 4 D's are the worst. *High peformance processors like the AMD FX series and Intels Extreme series. They are designed to offer the max performance no matter the cost (cash, power consumption, heat, ect). Processors to get; *AMD's Energy Effective versions, they are designed to use a lower wattage and in turn generate less heat *Intel's Core 2 Duo line, when not over clocked the lower models generate less heat then you would think (hence why you can overclock them so high), due to the core being more effective and the smaller nm manufacturing process. Depending on why your worried about the heat. I would say to either; *get a energy effective CPU *Buy a tower heatsink (keeps the CPU cool and makes as little noise as possible) *Stop worrying, all CPU's generate heat as long as it doesn't go above the manufacturers recommend temp you will be fine.

32 or 64 bit?
Without the programs you are planning on using have 64 bit support, I wouldn't bother just use the 32 bit version. As there is a lack of drivers for the 64bit version when compared to the 32 bit.

Ranarrs
I would hold off selling p pots until the god dungeon update happens. As it should have some high lvl monsters supplies like p pots will shot up for a short time, which will mean you'll be able to sell them fast and for a fair amount.

Just about to pay for a web host...
Hi, I posted a while back looking for free web hosts. After a lot of searching I found very few free sites had what I was looking for and even then they didn't perform to well. I set off looking for a paid for web host. I need a few questions answering. 1)Which out of the following would you go with (mainly using php and mysql); Servage  EUKHost-Silver Package  Ware Welsh Web Hosting - ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã39.99 Package  Easy space-Starter Plus Package  Designer Hosting-Business Package 2)Linux or Windows Server? I now the main differences, MSSQL/MySQL, asp.net/php etc. But what does it all boil down too? PS. Can AJAX be ran on a Linux Server? 3)What should I be looking at spending on this web site? I'm currently looking to spend no more then ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 (is this to less?). Thanks for any help/feed back.

flax+dragonhide to 80 crafting good idea?
Try it for a 1k or so and if you don't get bored then carry on. Personally I would get bored after 1 to 2k, but you can use the profit you make to buy D Hides. Trust me you will get bored of spinning it. If you spend the profit on d hides you will get a nice break and boost in exp.

Barrows Safespots
I can confirm the safespots do not work with Ahrim or Karil. Thing about it it if you can hit them with range or magic from behind a object, they can hit you with range of magic over the same object. Note I have tried it and it definitely doesn't work.

Barrows kill count
Ok I'll try my best here. As long as you kill all the brothers you have the same chance a barrows item. Your kill count effects your other drops; coins, runes, bolt racks (I believe D meds and half keys too). To make your trips cost effective, ie you get enough profit to cover the costs, you should be looking for 20 to 30 kill count inc the 6 brothers. Personally I never go below 20 kill count if I can help it. Heres a link to leesters barrows guide which shows his results (Look at the kill count section)

What model/make is your router? Are you on cable or DSL? How are you connected to the router (Wireless or Ethernet cable?)?

Rule 15: Odd One Out?
I like your idea, the only trouble is you would still have to view the ads until you logged in a members world... On The Topic: I only realised this rule existed about a month ago. When I read the rule I realised Ad-Blocker Plus and No Script had been blocking the ads for as long as I can remember. . Strange thing is I've never had a single black mark or message regarding it. :-k . BTW. I'm P2P. PS. anyone know how long this rule has been been out for?
