Anti Programs and AVG 8.0 free edition Questions
Personally I use AVG Free, in combination with SPybot S&D and Ad-Aware 2007 Free. AVG is good, but like all Antivirus software it focuses on viruses with spy/mal/ad ware as a side focus. Even the best antivirus software will miss ad/mal/spy ware so its best to use another program to scan for this. Personally I would get rid of the Spyware Terminator and replace it with Ad-Aware 2007

upgrade overhaul
I agree its worth a shot, but I would be very, very careful. Laptops are designed to use set hardware. If the laptop in question was never meant to come with a higher cpu then he has there may not be sufficient cooling. Which could damage other parts.

runescape HD Vista Lag
Yes, it would seem that Jagex haven't preloaded most of the maps, some of the textures, npc models and building models into the preload. This means each time you load up a new area you have to download all the map details, textures and model. This takes time and it causing a lot of issues. I had a lot of connection, lag and other issues with the beta. Which I think are all down to the downloading of 'extras'. Hopefully Jagex will give users the option to download all the maps, textures and models in a pack to save people on slower connections issues. Good thing its just a beta. Off the topic: Clare what was that registry tweak which improved network copy, paste and move times?

how do i free up ram on my computer
You have 256mb of ram. Your on-board graphics are using the 6mb of ram to generate the display. Depending on the operating system I would recommend upgrading to 512mb + (Windows 2000), 1gb+ (Windows XP) or 2gb + (Windows Vista).

Picture burned into my screen?
This is a fairly common thing on cheap screens or when people use a TV which is not designed for use as a monitor. Heres a wiki article about what has happened. There is no way to fix this on CRT monitors/TV, but on LCD's it can just be a temporary thing (try just leaving it unplugged for a while).

"A gaming computer"
I agree with anyone saying, if you have the time build one. Its a very worthwhile experience which will greatly enhance your computer knowledge. It will also work out that your PC will have better parts in it then prebuilt PC's which cost more. However you should only build your won if yo u have the time to research parts, read manuals and prep for the build. Otherwise you'll end up making a mess.

Wait... Wait a second... ...?
Check if there are any updates for IE7 on the Microsoft site. Have you got a pen drive? If so install portable Firefox (link) and see if you have the same issue. Is it just that one site, a selection or all?

Suggestions on how to use my internet to make money
Nightly hosting would be a bad idea as most people (if not all) will want there site to be accessible 24/7 or as close to 24/7 as possible. I very much doubt many people would pay much (if anything) for a 12 hour a day host.

ASUS Extreme Striker 2
Have you tried resetting the cmos using the jumpers? If not its worth a try, full instructions on how to do a cmos reset should be in the manual for the motherboard. If that doesn't fix the issue the do a BIOS update, but use either a flash drive or floppy as doing it from within Windows leads to most of the BIOS update issues you'll hear about. If neither of those fix then you may be looking at a RMA.

How to make sure you can play RSHD! ALL PROBLEMS LOOK HERE.
You can get to the run window on Windows 2000, XP and Vista simply by pressing Windows Key + R. In Vista the search was designed (shamefully) to combine the run and the search functions. Talk about trying to simplify something which didn't need to be simplified. Personally I use the command prompt a fair bit mainly for pinging PC's and servers, and deleting protected folders/files. Gotta love those psexec functions in command prompt, saves so much time. Anyway if anyone running Windows can't find the Run Window, press Windows key and R.

Runescape on iPhone!
Porting Java isn't like simply copying a few files. Its a big job. I can see Java being ported to the iPhone (see this link), but as for the DS, PSP or other games consoles I doubt it.

How to make sure you can play RSHD! ALL PROBLEMS LOOK HERE.
I like this little guide. I would like to add to it a bit if I may. Crucial also have a system scanner and they sell (and ship) to the US, UK and EU(link here). The processor speed doesn't mean much at all. If you have a Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, AMD X2, AMD X3 or AMD X4, then don't worry at all. If you have a Pentium 4, Pentium D, Celeron, AMD Athlon (single core), AMD XP or AMD Sempron, then you need to check you meet the 1.5GHz requirement. Note some Core 2 Duo's are clocked at 1.5GHz or less (only really the laptop ones) I like the little list of graphics cards you have. Heres some cheap one from the UK. PCI-E - £31 PCI - £27 AGP - £37 PS. Laptop owners should note they can only change the ram as the cpu and gpu are generally soldered onto the motherboard. Hope I helped, Joe

Lp's Build [update]
Personally I would go with this motherboard. eVGA are better then XFX IMO. this graphics card (same model) is running at higher stock speeds and is cheaper.

hard disc drive
Yes it should work.

Building A Computer
What's the currency? (USD or GBP) Off the topic: I thought tip.it might have had a full backup to an external device or media every few weeks or at least once a month. Each to there own I suppose.

Suggest a Style: PHPBB3
I think Tip.it, for the time being, should use SubSilver2. Its the same theme the old forums had which will make it easier for the more long standing members to use.

New Iinternet service- ideas
That all depends on the router and the wireless card on the laptop. If the router is a good one and the laptop has a decent card then you'll be fine.

Favorite Video Game Ending?
Now that I think about it Portal is the best original ending I've seen. Others worth noting are; MSG3. MSG2, the **** they talk in at/near the end confuses the hell out of you. Half Life 2 There more, but I generally remember the gameplay and not the ending so much. PS. I never classed the GTA series as a having endings as you always have more to do/get.

Graphic card replacement.
This is the best card for the money $89.99 CaD. Should play most games on medium settings and older ones on high. Its a big boost from the 7300, although if your looking for a like for like replacement just buy new fan or send it back under warranty.

Usb plugs not working and show up on screen problem
For the screen check the connection from the screen to the Pc as well as the screens power supply. How much time do you give windows to show the USB devices? If you only wait for a minute or two, leave it 5 or 10 minutes and see if it shows up. It may just be windows has a lot of programs to handle. /\Are the only thinks I can think of at this moment in time.
