  1. While I do agree with you that junk isnt worthless, there IS difference between your example and RS. The scrap metal price that you are listing, is a RIGHT price. The point of junk is that it is overpriced. Scrap metal dealers dont buy overpriced shovels. To continue your with your example: A scrap metal dealer wont pay more for your shovel than you have paid for it when it was brand new. In runescape on the other hand, you can get maples from your kingdom, USE them for xp and they and they will become worth MORE (according to the GE). However, just like a crap metal dealer doesnt buy for more than what you have paid for the new shovels, nobody is going to buy your maple bows (u). BUT, due to the trade restrictions, any player buying the bows (u) from you, is FORCED to pay that high price. So a scrap metal dealer is better compared with the general store IMO. Like people has said, you cant compare RS economy with RL economy. First of all cause xp is valued, and that differs from person to person. But secondly, and more IMPORTANTLY, there are trade restrictions and JAGEX DECIDES THE PRICES. (which or often wrong). (Can you imagine the government forcing that scrap metal dealer to buy your shovels for more than what you've bought em for :o). This being said, I do agree that junk isnt worthless at all. If you got 40M junk (dont ask me why) and you sell your claws with it, you didnt make 50M profit. 10M at most. Lending out has made junk even more valuable. That's why overpriced items crash much much earlier before reaching their street price.
  2. Snapdragon seeds are ~ 38k Snapdragon herbs are ~8k 6 x 8k = 48k for an approximate profit of 10k per seed Ranarr seeds are ~ 23k Ranarr herbs are ~ 6.2k 6 x 6.2k = 37.2k for an approximate profit of 14k per seed Toadflax gives ~ 12k profit per seed Dwarf weed is ~ 8k profit per seed Kwuarm gives ~ 12k profit per seed Average of 6 herbs (Including the occasional dead herbs) My bad, I havent farmed in ages. When I farmed I bought snap seeds for 20-30k each and the herbs were 8-9k each. Or something around that...
  3. I love those spies, seriously. One of the better additions lately. It's fun if you do it wednesday with all the crowds, and who doesnt want 30k xp for 20-30 min work in a skill he can choose.

No you dont. Robinhoodie calced the xp per hour at black demons with 99 ranged. He didnt use void though. He came out at 45k xp an hour. A while ago, I timed my xp there meleeing, which was about 60k xp an hour, and which can certainly be higher.
  5. Whats there to gain on that? You cant "unenchant" something, can you? The only one loosing here is the buyer. I mean, say Ive got an ammy and I sell it with 30 onyx necklaces. What did I make? Nothing, cause the onyx gem itself is 2.7m... The buye on the other hand looses over 60m. I'd go for c or f. (I have one myself and I'm "doing" option f). Only do C after serious investigation (see if those pies sell, if a few sell, a few thousand will sell too, just more slowly).
  6. With 91rcing you get to have the fastest non luck relyent way of making money, double nats are like 1.2m per hour 1.2M an hour with nats is long gone. Try 900.
  7. Not really cosmic's are better once you hit 59 (Astrals when you hit 82), as its much easier to access and requires very little consideration of your gear. I agree the law tali never did fit in with the Troll Stronghold quest, but removing the quest requirement all together wasn't the best idea. Why not change the requirement to Monks Friend, Priest in Peril, Clock Tower or one of the other monk related quests. All are pretty simple, but still require effort. As your helping a monk it would seem a lot more relevant too. O and laws were never really sold at 300 or less before the GE. The lowest you could bulk buy (I'm talking 1k plus) was about 350 (slightly lower if you got lucky). The average was about 400-500 for 20 to 1k and less then 20 was about 1k each. The real RC killer was the pure essence addition, it killed the profit you could get massively (I remember buying ess for 30 to 40gp each, RC'ing then selling the nats for 320 each, a 8x profit). Please enlighten me how you can craft nature runes with only 40 runecrafting.
  8. Cool, I wanted to list these two. I always forget how to get there too, when I have to :-)
  9. Wear your shiny cooking cape?
  10. You dont seem ready for a 99. "thieving is the only one I could stand". Naah, just play the way you did. Dont follow everyone on their race to 99. Do what you like.
  11. Grab a stop watch and do the math for yourself. It is easy to confirm. (Also, there is no method to alch faster.) Yes, the numbers were conservative. I regularly push well over 100k mage xp an hour with superheat. Not to alch faster, but to increase XP while alching dramatically with no extra effort. Any other methods to name, rather than the traditional stand in a bank and get CT? How do you increase your xp while alching without effort? Also, what is CT. Sorry for nub questions, just curious :-)
  12. In runescape you can afford it to be incredibely selfish. And I find your Dag example bad, cause that's one of the few spots that's actually still decent for other people if someone is cannoning. Kalphites is a whole other thing.
  13. A dragon crossbow does not hit higher than a bronze cbow. It is the type of bolts that determines the hit. You beat me too it. However, I do agree a rune crossbow is ACCURATE enough. Btw, whats that about the "hits" to get a gem? Is a rock predetermined to deliver a gem, irellevant by who mines it? I thought it was something personal (personal luck), and that a glory makes it happen more often. Also, when I get a gem, I'm pretty sure I get it instantly (been a long time though, not sure here). Or are you talking about the gem rocks in shilo? I've got a good one btw: DID YOU KNOW, cigarette lighters were invented before matches! (who recognizes this :-)).
  14. With this implementation, item prices would rise artificially, since an item's selling price does not necessarily reflect its activity in the market. The only way to truly guarantee that players want a certain price is to update it based on completed trades, which it already does. The auto-sell would also cause higher class items to fall like rocks - consider the 100M partyhat again; when the GE updates, that price has fallen to a staggering 85M. Let it continue over a week and that item will be worth 32.05M, and the merchants will be pissed royal. I'm sure that the developers have thought about this. Having a general store or some other specialty shop buy the junk from the GE (and reroute it to the black hole) would be a simpler solution, since even yours can't apply to every single item on the GE (namely the expensive items). The "black hole" ideology would also affect higher priced items, as people would be a little less apprehensive of trading on the GE, and would try to sell their goods there. Item prices would not rise artificially since they would eventually reach a price where players are both willing to sell and buy at - aka correct price. With the current situation, adjusting based off of completed transactions...that's exactly the reason many items get stuck. The auto-sell would only cause higher class items to fall like rocks if they are way over priced as it is...which would be solving a problem, not creating one. If players let the price of a partyhat drop to 32m, that means they don't value it at more than 32m. This guy is 100% right (especially the last part. How idiotic to think auto sell would cause it to drop under its value. If it drops that low, that's what it's worth. Even if it does temporarily drop under it's "real" value (like what happens to a lot of medium priced items that crash) they will go up again).
  15. Heard of GE limits? 10*50M isnt enough to buy out most item btw.
  16. Dark Beasts have an insane amount of range defense and a long range magic attack this is quite accurate on Dragonhide/Armadyl, making prayer pots needed. Couple that with their 220 hp and it'll cost a large amount to get the task fo 140-190 done. I don't reccomend it, even with Diamond (e) bolts. :-# thats what the bolts are for? Didnt you read the other part, about the potions. Robin, which part of the quest are you having troubles with? I personally found it an easy quest, once I had lured the beast inside. The luring itself took over 10 tries though :o.
  17. Looks very promising, yes. However, in the beginning everything looks promising. But imagine having to capture that red flag for the 500th time. Up that montain, clicking on the bog (like temple trekking), doing annoying traps, ... It can get boring quickly, especially if there will be only one good way to train it (hunter?).

im sure oak larders are faster, demon guy can carry 24 oak planks to you (ie 3 larders) and you can use all 24 planks per load rather than only 20 Check zarfot's youtube video. Doors are definitely faster. I dont really get how he does it so fast though. He gets 200-300k xp an hour, with oak larders I managed like half of that if not less (long time ago, cant reallyremember..)
  19. Looks good, xp rates seem to be around the same of what I got at abbies :-) (did a test with full armadyl, and even ranger boots and came out at like 45k xp, was 95 ranged or so back then I think).
  20. It's not that simple. Setting the prices artificially for items that have absolutely no use is more work than creating some sort of void to toss them into. This way, the items don't inflate to values that don't come close to reflecting its worth. I mean change the prices of items like Dragon claws so they meet there street price in the GE. If they do that, no more junk trading except when it comes to lending. Nope... The GE is just too slow to adjust, so as long as the mechanics of the GE arent fixed, junk trading will keep existing. I would love them to fix some prices though. I'm just saying that that woldnt be a long term solution. Look at phats, afters months and months, they were traded for a few days, then a few days later, they were considered junk again. Look at masks. They meet their real value en poof, they plummet.
  21. *kicks Sirhemen* Also, isn't dart pretty weak? Fire Wave can hit more and it's only a bit more gp than Slayer Dart. I still need need the experience rates. dart is epic It's not. Shut up please. Id say you get 80 in whichever way you decide. Then do dks with claws of guthix. Once you are there it is 40-50k mage xp an hour. Profit depends on luck. Else you could try diamon bolt enchanting. When I did it I could profit, but I think that haschanged. It's really intense too if you wanna get decent rates. Upside is you can use it at pc. Also, what is this "alching trick"? When is the perfect time to buy/sell the beginning/end product diamond bolt enchanting? Hard to say an exact date, but easy to figure out: Buy your bolts when they are low, or buy for under med. Might need some patience. Enchant, and keep till they are high (if you can afford to keep several thousand of them). (good time to sell would be like 2 days ago :-)). EDIT: ffs! Good time would be to sell NOW. And I just sold 260k of these babies at "only" 535 each 2 dags ago :( :( :(. On the other hand, membership ran out, so I wouldnt be able to sell em atm.
  22. I'd say blood spells. The costs are high enough that the difference of using 2 bloods every few lures is very neglible. I did bring a bunyip myself sometimes though.
  23. When I die I have this odd feeling going through me. Stress, or something. Somehow, I always die when I cant get my items back: Bork, Duo bandos (friend dcs too), metal drags (twice, huge lag, when I logged in, at least 3 minutes had passed). So yes, I'm afraid of dieing. EDIT: actually, the same as carlobulins said;
  24. I heard it does. So you can use void at armoured zombies. Cant confirm it myself though.
