There is one thing which would help to balance it, make the skulling more like old wilderness, so that you only skull (and drop all items on death) if you attack another player who is neither bounty nor retaliation. Another thing, if you kill (or half kill and they later die) your rogue attacker, YOU get a pickup penalty

A few seem to have low shard counts... Bull ant 40 Spirit shard x 11 Gold charm Marigolds 52.8 Spirit terrorbird 52 Spirit shard x 12 Gold charm Raw bird meat 68.4 Barker toad 66 Spirit shard x 10 Gold charm Bloated toad 87 War tortoise 67 Spirit shard x 1 Gold charm Tortoise shell 58.6 Arctic bear 71 Spirit shard x 14 Gold charm Polar kebbit fur 93.2 Spirit dagannoth 82 Spirit shard x 1 Crimson charm Dagannoth hide 364.8 Rune minotaur 86 Spirit shard x 1 Blue charm Runite bar 756.8 Until the last two, it was looking like only gold charm ones had low shards One thing though, gold charm creatures seem to be low XP for their level. Blue charm creatures are high XP, and though they need a lot of shards (except the Rune minotaur) the other component is often a simple metal bar.

Dual 12v, 11A on each, and FSP (Fortron) are regarded as a good tier 2 (if not tier 1) name in power supplies. Depending on the overall power drain of other devices, it may well be able to power a card in the upper midrange class, Shouls get away with any that recommend a 350W PSU, maybe even those that recommend a 400W, as the dual 12v is well distributed, and could well be more 12v power than a lot of no-name 400-450W models have. The main sticking point is overall power, and if it's a Core 2 CPU, than that gives more leeway than a power hungry Pentium 4 / Pentium D. My current machine has a FSP 350W with a single 12V @ 19A, driving a Pentium 4, 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives, and a PCI-E graphics with no power connector - the PSU does not have a PCI-E power connector.

The best F2P gravestone is the "Ornate Gravestone", costing 5,000 coins from Father Aereck in Lumbrige and giving 3 minutes protection, instead of 2 minutes for all lower F2P memorials. The Restless Ghost quest is required for F2P gravestone upgrades. Members with The Giant Dwarf quest completed can speak to Blasidar in Keldagrim, for a wide range of 4 minute gravestones at 50,000 coins, including some which require additional quests. The 5 minute "Angel of Death" costs 500,000 but does not have additional requrements. According to the Knowledgebase, members gravestones do appear the same on F2P worlds, so maybe "buy an Angel of Death" is another thing to do before dropping to F2P, assuming it remains the same for ex-members. As for repairing... If I see something higher than the basic, I'll probably repair. Sometimes the basic as well, but unless you are a 0 prayer pure, why not upgrade if you actually care about getting back. Of course, if the other player was being a pest, they get no repair, neither would I expect one from player that I was wrangling monsters onto. I think it tells you when someone repairs. As a side issue, I'll usually pile a revenant if it's within my level. And finally... Please demolish your grave, as other players may waste prayer holding it up when it's no longer needed. I th

For even an upper midrange card, you may be looking at needing a PSU upgrage as well, particularly if the current unit is a 300/350W with no PCI-E (6 way) power cable. Looking at ebuyer, there are several X1650 Pro models from ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã29.99 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132542 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139141 - Or ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã34.43 with an outsisde exhause / 2 slot wide cooler. Not the most supercharged of solutions, but they tend not to have or need a PCI-E power feed, so may be usable on a rather average case PSU. For bigger and better cards, you're probably going to need a better PSU than am unknown name 300W fitted to most cases, and some of the really cheap so called 600W units are nowhere near capable under realistic load conditions. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124927 - Good price for a "700W", gets ok reviews there - see also the 600W model which PC World were apparently selling for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60 - the 600 may be ok so long as you don't go to a really top of the range GFX, as the amps on the 600 are a little shy of the requirements for the high priced graphics. There WILL be compromises, the price difference between these and the same supposed amount of power in a respected brand PSU is not just down to the brand name, so if using a cheaper name, you have to have a bit of leeway on the watts and amps, where a good name PSU could be loaded close to maximum with reasonable confidence

No profit/loss and boring as hell (but good if you like randoms, as it brings them on), is: Clay bowling in the crafting guild. After some intial setup (using buckets or the jug spawn for water), you end up using 14 bowls for water (identical containers autofill when you fill one), make all soft clay, make x bowls at wheel and kiln, then drop 14 bowls & mine more clay. Before leaving, load up with Silver and/or gold, and any moulds you need.

Strikes may be possible, mind runes are trading at about 11 each on the exchange, airs at 15, so a fire strike costs 41. The most likely for a possible profit, would seem to be Hill giants, as the drop is a guaranteed big bone, maybe a limpwurt as well (both good trade items) and some other rubbish. Earth strikes are cheaper (only one air) but the lower damage makes the kill rate slower.

Revenants are like your worst nightmare 1 iteming PKer, but fight like an all-rounder with full equipment. Damage them, and they safe eat, damage them more, and they tele, and if you do manage a takedown, the F2P drop would only be a woeful amount of coins. Exceptions, if you and another player can team one to remove it from an area, or if you have enough food to drive it away alone. With food, my best results have been two driveaways, and had to bail and run 2 or 3 times as well. The only good reason to seek out a revenant, is to get your escape plan sorted.

And walks straight into the number one flaw of the GE trade & value equalization system - if nobody buys, even at the lowest, then it's not going to move. Maybe the system needs a larger margin for items that appear to be stalled with no/low trade.

I think the boneyard ended up buried underneath bounty hunter, but a more tedious route is collecting normal bones at the chaos altar. You need 3 times as many, but they are there for the taking, as fast as you can bury.

The split of normal and pure essence is no longer needed, with all the other anti-RWT measures in place now. If the essence split was reversed: P2P essence miners would curse, P2P runecrafters would rejoice. F2P essence miners would be delighted F2P runecrafters would be upset. Merging back to just one kind of rune essence, would inevitable see the price settle somewhere between normal and pure, as F2P ess miner supplies fed P2P runcrafter demand, just as before the very first and least useful of Jagex's anti-bot measures.

Reading through the KB: Gnome Hat > Wizard Hat Blue or black robe top (they got rid of the difference in stats) Zamorak robe bottom Wizard boots. God cape would be good, if you can do it as a mage pure, while an Obsidian cape is good for defence and has no requirements beyond amassing a lot of tokkul to buy. The God cape is a "free replacement" item.

The super spots for each are: 1. Minotaurs - range over fences in rooms near start or end (can also mage, or warriors can take them on on any room. 2. Flesh Crawlers, prime warrior location is a room at the southeast with only flesh crawlers. the east corridor has a pair that are good if you can't stand a constant battle. 3. Catablepon - the northwest room, west wall, has a rocksolid safespot to mage or range. 4. Ankou - the south-central room has a mostly reliable safespot, though being taken away by a random event can leave you in trouble, as they normally trap as they approach. For warriors, the northeast room is Ankou onlym and has some cover spots that are only safe once they are no longer aggressive. The sceptre is quite handy as the only 1-space F2P teleport, but can revenants teleblock in F2P? PS. You can only assemble one complete sceptre at any time, but may store unlimited pieces or assembled piece pairs.

Built a new computer, PCi slots dont fit correctly.
Doomster replied to Torlen's topic in Tech and Computers
Spacers used to have two types, brass screwposts and plastic keyhole fitting sliders. Now it's usually clip-in fittings which are often loose or have rotten threads. Test the screws in your case fittings before use, and save the rather unreliable ones for steadying less important positions. -
The 3k Limit is Finalized - Everyone's Thoughts
Doomster replied to warshadow212's topic in General Discussion
by the time they resolve essence running payments (if they ever do) the running systems will be dead. A fairly obvious kludge would be to revalue un-noted versus noted essence when inside altars. A few loopholes would not lead to rampant RWT so long as they do not form a chain and cannot be repeated indefinitely. In fact, it would be good if the trade restrictions took account of the difference between point of source and point of use. Another thing, if you make a 3k loss and then a 3k gain, are you back to zero, or can you neither gain nor lose in another trade -
Always 5x the essence experience for any tiara, though you lose 2 essence spaces (or 1 space if you wear a blank, and carry 1 talisman). A full load of tiaras is only 2.5x the essence experience, not 5x, as each one needs 2 spaces.

Nats are piles of 3 & 4, but it's a risky area with Lessers nearby and the ever-present Jagex robo-Pker threat - Revenants! -=- F2P: Rune collecting in the Dark knights castle, though that needs some defence or offence, and nobody else there. Spawning in piles of 5, Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Mind, Body and (slower) Chaos. It's really only the chaos that make the trip worthwhile, as it's a pretty slow way to get runes compared to runecraft. Other free respawns may be worth collecting. Another suggestion, arrow stealing in Bounty hunter, use only disposable equipment, avoid fighting. Arrows up to Addy can be found, even in the lowest level F2P area, often abandoned by rangers in pursuit of absolutely anyone. Leave and bank as soon as you have any worthwhile value. -
At the moment, Willows are (last time I tried) practically unsaleable on the exchange, and at miserable prices too. So either cut and burn Willows for firemaking, or cut & fletch unstrung bows to drop or general store dump. Maybe work out on some of the member's stuff between willow & Yew in level, as Yew will be pretty slow at a bare level 60. Maybe Maples and unstrung Maple longs, until you reach 70 fletching to make Yew longs to alch. The price of Yews has risen since the death of the bots, and the efficient exchange makes it easy for even small quantity Yew cutters to sell at market rate, while the balanced trade rules make it impossible to sell at anything away from the market rate, so being able to cut your own fletching supplies is going to be more important now than it ever was (or wasn't) before.

31 December 2007 - Unbalanced Trade Reminder
Doomster replied to Jordanweb's topic in General Discussion
The pain: How many "free iron ores" can a power training miner give away? - (possible fix, unlimited gifting of freshly obtained items). Runecrafting companies, can they still work - the FFA/FFL style looks to be dead, while the "no ess back" syle can operate to a limited extent on "assist". Jagex recognised the player-chosen worlds for those operations, but appear to have none nothing to mitigate the effect of the update, though maybe not surprising when you look at now many established gameplay aspects were casually tossed aside in the anti-BOT/RMT war. Smelting companies, forced to opearate at GE value defined rates -
DBAN (Dariq's boot and nuke) is more than a format, it is a "secure erase" which will obliterate everything, partition table, your pr0n collection, the lot, leaving the drive needing to be partitioned as if it was a new one. NB. If there are any Supplier reserved areas (recovery/service partition etc.) it will nuke those as well.

F2P: Cutting logs (sell at 34 on exchange, and a chopping round can be made AT the exchange unless the trees there are already busy), It's better money but slower XP than cutting Oaks, and I've found Willows the hardest of all to sell. Now I was going to try to keep the next one quiet but: Gathering planks at the Graveyard of shadows, 7 planks per round and bank at Bounty Hunter. (sell at 100 on exchange). Requires some defence and armour to survive. On Bounty hunter worlds, entering & leaving the arena restores health, run & prayer -
Bounty hunter is a safe area, even on non-bounty hunter worlds, the bank is open. Trouble is, the steps are in the southeast corner, whel the mines are way above, the hobgoblin mine suffered a huge move to deeper wilderness, and the rune mine is also far north

I went to the wilderness to get wildy capes, but...
Doomster replied to AshXQ's topic in Help and Advice
http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2381 RSKB Cape guide, includes new wilderness map. If you actually go and get them yourself, then: Richard ( -6 capes ) is the cowards cape seller, Edgeville safe-side. Sam ( -0 ) can usually be seen near the east wall of the dark knights castle. Simon ( -9 ) is in the lava strike zone towards the chaos temple. Neil ( -7 ) is easy to find, located in a hut adjoining the bandit camp general store (doesn't move). Those are the ones I've seen. Darren, Williiam & Edward are best kept for the brave or foolhardy, since they are deep in revenant-land, I prefer the tapered style anyway, as the normal capes are square ended. -
If you have a completely unresolvable virus / windows corruption, to the point where nuking it is easier than diagnosis, then you need a disk WIPER. http://dban.sourceforge.net/ You'd need to download and make the bootable media elsewhere to ensure it was not compromised, but if you're set on a complete re-install, that is the way to go.

They helped: 1. Secondary skill trainers / users who didn't care where their resources came from. 2. Rulebreakers who bought items/gold by RMT They hurt: Pretty much any honest player resource gatherer, by insane competition. You could say they also hurt honest players versus the RMT buyers.
