Crucial issues: The cash budget, The power budget (higher performance AGP will use molex "disk drive" power connector, and need a considerable slice more 12V juice from the power supply - a basic system PSu would only cover the bottom of the range models and some lower midrange). The AGP slot type - modern cards tend to be 4x/8x compatible, and are not compatible with older 2x/3.3V mode slots, though that transition was a long time ago - AMD Socket A could be found with either, but anything more recent than that should have at least a 4x. AGP 1.0 was 1x/2x and 3.3V - AGP 2.0 was 4x/1.5V (Some cards were also 3.3V tolerant "universal" and could fit AGP 1.0 systems). The slot keying of 1.5V and 3.3V is different, so a mismatch should not fit. AGP 3.0 supports 8x and 0.8V signalling using 1.5V - AGP 3.0 card use the 1.5V keying position, and I've not seen any that are not also 4x/1.5V capable.

To complete the beginner part, you have to do "Restless Ghost", so you get prayer. The other combat quests do not really interfere with a pure, as D.slayer does not need to be completed, and a bit of the "wrong" combat type will make no difference if the preferred combat type is setting the level. If the ring is not permitted in BH though, it rather takes the shine off it, wonder if the run restores mean it's barred from FoG? So, are all NPC replace items banned from BH, or is this a glitch?

It has combat stats (+magic, + magic defence, +prayer), so it is "armour". The truth, of course, is the Kah-bah-gee cult held the designers to ransom until they created a cabbage teleport.

Well, the tutorial mine is eliminated by an earthquake in a cutscene, so that explains why there is no mine any more, not sure if the Crayfish fishing tutor is still there or not, or if you can fish them later, must have a look. You can still drop and get enough runes to do 3 magic (only one more lump needed, as they are given in 30's, not 5's). The smithing list is not locked, so if you get enough ores to make 10+ bronze bars, you can leave the smithing training armed with a bronze mace and wearing a med helm - in the old tutorial, the list was locked, and you could only make daggers even if you did level up.

Magic Help: What to do and where to cast my spells
Doomster replied to Ouchy's topic in Help and Advice
Remember, fire strikes are cheaper (GE price) when bought as 1:3 Mind:Fire, rather than 1:2 Mind:Air, but add the price of the other Staff if you have to change. If you make your own airs, then go the fire staff route, or sell the airs at GE price and buy fires. -
Telegrabbing Zammy Wines, or has the bottom fallen out of that market? Killing things with a high payback - eg. Cows = raw beef, cow hide, normal bones Stronghold of security level 1 rats = normal bones (everywhere else, level 1's don't drop) Giant rats = raw rat meat, normal bones And of course, any kind of giant = big bones, plus other mid value F2P drops. As I found out a while ago, cheapest effective spell to buy, is fire strikes, buying Mind & 3x Fires, Air staff - it's more expensive to buy the airs. So at a cost of 47 coins per shot, you need to average lower than 2 strikes per kill for bones, 8 for big bones (though the other drops cover a few more)

The best place to go is http://www.cableforum.co.uk - this used to be "Nthellworld". Traffic management thresholds are higher for higher pacakages, but on the 2Mb "M" tariff, the limit most likely to bite if you use it daytime or early evening, is the 500MB from 4PM to 9PM, so arrange to do any large downloads after 9PM if possible. If you have more than one service with them, then try to get a loyalty/retentions discount, unlikely to be offered much if you just have one service, but if you have more than one and are paying more than the continuing rate of the current bundle deals, kick up hell. If you have Sky (subscription, any) and have a BT phone line, then there is only one choice, the middle broadband at £5 per month on top, with "up to 8Mb" and a simple 40GB/month quota limit. If you have a BT line and no Sky sub, and can live with the appalling service, Indian call centres, pushy sales and questionable reliabilty, then there's TalkTalk. Tiscali are another alternative, for Phone + Broadband, and a limited TV service, though their broadband is "unlimited" with a rather vague "fair usage" policy. They are all sticks to beat Virginmedia with, as VM's prices are grossly uncompetetive unless you are on (at least) one of the new bundles, or preferably one of the ones they don't tell you about, such as the "grand triple" - Existing customers upgrading through customer care, £42/mo for BB:L (4Mb going to 10Mb now), Phone:M (no extras), TV:XL ** Sounds like you have been offered "Ultimate triple" - unless the Phone use is heavy enough to benefit from free anytime UK calls and/or you really need 20Mb instead of 10Mb (or the higher quota than BB:L, which is still better than BB:M), then try to get an offer of the Grand triple instead. The days of super-insane discounts are gone, once upon a time, it was a matter of luck, and retentions deals seemed to be made up on the spot out of whatever offer codes were available, now you would expect to get a reasonable loyalty/match discount (ours is loyalty/match Sky), though the 2Mb broadband is a little short of matching Sky, as is the channel package (no Sky 1/2), but does have a phone line that is not included in the Sky price.

The only change was for the worse, losing the boneyard! You can collect and bury normal bones in the chaos temple, just watch out for those roving revenants and the occasional lava splash. Also, a reminder that level 1 rats drop bones in the stronghold of security, and NOWHERE ELSE, so if you want some single strike combat for bone supply, level 1 of the stronghold, where nothing is aggressive and you can choose your targets, is the place to go. If you can obtain and bury normal bones 3 times as fast as big bones, you are pretty much level.

I think you hit the nail on the head, form submit, but pretty sure I used to use the dropdown the same way in the old forum - the style of submit may have changed in the new version, but it doesn't always happen, I was wondering if it also required a post to bring another thread to the top, resulting in a change in the page you are going back to.
-
On going back from a thread to a forum section, it often (but not always) comes up with a "web page has expired" message, requiring a refresh and then an OK. This never used to happen with PHPBB 2 Using IE7 on XP, using the backspace key shortcut to go back with.

Plasmas can burn VERY badly, people were complaining about channel logo burn-in. LCD/TFT can suffer from a "sticky image" which looks like burn-in, but it will usually fade with time or excersize. I wouldn't expect a CRT to show severe burn-in in such a short time, the effect is normally cumulative, unless the brightness is excessive.

Until FoG, the best F2P mage robe set was: Wizard hat, Wizard robe top, with the bottom being a choice of monk robe (prayer bonus), leather chaps (harmless, small melee defence), or matching skirt to look like a robe set. With FoG, 10 defence is needed for either type of robe. If you absolutely hate the mingame, then an uncharged robe bottom is still better than anything else for that position. The safety gloves are about the best a pure mage can use, if defence (non-mage) is required, then the Fog gauntlets provide a bit of defence against everything else, for only a -1 to magic attack and defence.

The Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide - UPDATED
Doomster replied to unorclan's topic in Archive of Wisdom
Another tactic, the Rockhopper: Similar to dancing around the hut, but rather more difficult to do well, dancing around the rocks close to the centre can disrupt a melee hunter, but not mage or range - the main advantage of rockhopping versus a melee hunter, is it keeps you in a high points zone. The Wall ruin sections DO block mage and range, the rocks do not. -
Any style of combat - typically, melee hits hardest (if you have high stats) but is easier to dodge than mage or range. Mage is popular, as you get free runes to cast any combat spell, so only an autocasting staff is needed. Rangers get free arrow collection, but still lose some in breakages. As for armour, the hunter has no need for defence, while the hunted will often find lightness an advantage, and cannot use a shield. Given the avaialbility of free runes, and quite a high chance of magic attack, D-hide is probably the best balanced armour for Fist of Guthix. Another thing to remember, you get a stat restore at the start of each round, so you can pray both rounds - protect from, rapid heal or the "skin" prayers as hunted, and your best attack/damage prayers as hunter. remember to turn prayer off when not actually in combat, other than rapid heal, which can be used to good effect to prop up hitpoints if you can spare the prayer points - you still lose some hitpoints to the arena, but about half as fast.

The small chance of a Rune med and other decent items is outweighed by the high rate of damage, though with 63 fishing / 41 cooking, you can get Lobsters yourself, and that makes them doable. Rune wep, Rune armour & good food, and you can kill a few, but it's really a case of fish and use, with a small chance of a decent payoff. I've taken down a Lesser with my Steel Pure, and yes, it was a single one, maybe two. On the other hand, a mage can use the not entirely reliable safespot, and blow them away with nothing more than strikes if you choose.

With those levels, you wasted your money, but anyway, things to do: Fletching: Make stacks of bronze arrows, or make headless until you can iron tip them, and then use them for non-collect ranging when back to F2P. Agility: Agility works in F2P (run endurance only), so training Agility on a short member stint is highly recommended. Dragon slayer: If planning to range it, in members you can use an antifire potion, and/or a better crossbow and the shield. Have fun, try pest control (low level boat), Castle wars, games room

Will new detail be on same worlds as reg detail.
Doomster replied to Nash's topic in General Discussion
That would be one way to fix arguments about "does high detail give an advantage", if the high detail (and particularly, full screen) was on different worlds. Wile a few extra worlds might be needed, some "standard" worlds could be phased out. It also seems that high detail will be an F2P feature, but presumably full screen (no ads) will be P2P only, unless they do full screen with embedded ads. -
Last time I checked, willows were practically impossible to sell. Normal logs sold quite well, Oaks were pretty slack too (not like the construction boom), and of course, Yews are the best selling log in F2P, though prone to price cycling disruptions.

The baffling thing, is why they didn't go for a much more obvious solution - it would have been perfect to close RS2 to new accounts, so once the vermin are cleaned up, they stay cleaned up, and to have introduced the new rules in RS2.5. Actually, closing the game to chinese IPs would have been a major step - would be interesting to know just how much the players from certain countries fell, when these measures took effect. The RWTs are certainly down, the absence of bots that feed them is a sign that the majority found it no longer worth their while, but they are not completely out - a few spambots, levelling services etc. Yes, for the most part, it killed the bots, and then players screamed when the price of raw materials skyrocketed.
-
Except revenants, yes, then if you run and outwit the revenant, back to square 1. You CAN trap a revenant, as their "walk through" ability is disable when they are chasing, it only applies to route navigation.
-
FoG is free, but you are only on attack for 1 of the 2 rounds, and the XP is halved, the upside is that you can fire your highest combat spell for free, and throw in binds as well (always try to bind when the opponent is out of the centre). There are a limited set of monsters you can possibly mage down at a profit, buying strikes (at 10 per mind, 15 per air, 9 per fire, it is currently cheaper to use an air staff and buy fires). As an alternative, buy minds, as they are a hell of a walk, and make your own airs - in this case, wielding a fire staff is the way to go. The possibility of breakeven or profit depends on picking monsters that have sustained value drops: Rats (stronghold of security) = normal bones every kill. Cows = bones, hide, raw beef Giant rats = bones, raw rat meat Giants (any kind) = big bones plus other drops, Limpwurts from hill giants are a solid payday.

You can use hosts to redirect a site name to any site that can be addressed entirely by IP. Servers which host multiple sites on the same IP will probably show an error page.

I remember another forum, where the robots.txt had to be tweaked with various rate limit commands for bots, as they were sending multiple spiders and hammering too hard.

Forum email address (eg. password reset) appears as "[email protected]" - I nearly threw it as fake/spam.

There was a guide not so long ago, might turn it up, but anyway: 1. Minotaurs, any way you like, this is the kindergarten level. Melee, range over fence safespots or mage over fence safespots. 2. Flesh crawlers, never really managed to work safespots with these, the places I like are the "slow pair" in the corridor at the east side (great for lower level melee, as you can rest an eat), or the southeast room where higher level melle can sit back and be auto-attacked. 3. Catablepons, the rocksolid range spot in the northwest room is my favourite, but if you are not killing them quickly, you may lose arrows unless you dive out and pick up partway through (taking a hit or 2). Also, hitting them with a curse before ranging helps with the damage rate - wouldn't recommend maging them all the wat, as they are resistant. 4. Ankou, maging from the south room safespot is a doddle, if you can get in there unscathed and maintain control. Curse first, then take them down with almost anything - Fire or Earth strikes for cheapness, or use crumble undead (single cast in F2P, autocast with members Slayer staff or Void Knight mace) for best XP per chaos rune. You could bolt or blast, but it's not worth it.
