Best Mass Smithing
Oddly enough.... Iron (in F2P) = 50% success, and 37.5 XP per bar smelted & smithed * So 6 iron ores = 3 Iron bars (average) = 112.5 XP Smelt + smith Steel = 1 bar per iron & 2 coal, 55 XP smelted & smithed * So 2 iron + 4 coal = 2 steel bars = 110 XP Smelt + smith Not a lot in it: Iron will have you waiting for 28 actions at the forge, instead of 9, and will take 50% longer to smith as well. Steel will take longer to mine the coal for, though the steel items will have higher value. Buying ores, assuming iron @ 100 & coal @ 200 (and steel bar making would be profit, but low xp) Iron platebody (336gp) costs 1000 to make, and gives 187.5xp = 3.54 gp per xp Steel platebody (1200gp) costs 2500 to make, and gives 275xp = 4.73 gp per xp This assumes best store price, which will not be maintained in bulk

The "fall down" is the best thing with the goblin makeover.

F2o Mage pkin help
Your primary combat type is melee, so on equal level, your mage is weak, and higher level mage is weak anyway in F2P, unless used with surprise against full metal armour.

F2P Pker Help
Go Green trousers, the dragonhide chaps are better than iron, even the studded are better than iron. I'd go for a shield, you'll probably have used at least one piece of food by the time it's worth whipping out the 2H. You can't fish, you can't cook, that is a recipe for pain or rule 8 violations. I'd also suggest doing the mage quests and a bit of weaken & curse, since magic level helps with magic resistance, and you can afford as much damage-free training as you would have the patience for, without altering combat level one step. If you frequently get maged, then the extra piece of dragonhide may help. Alternatively, "full antimage" kit would be Coif, leather body, dragonhide chaps & vambs, anti dragonfire shield. "Half antimage", would be Iron med, Iron chain, the rest as in full antimage - it's a compromise. If you can afford to risk it, the power amulet (+6 to attack, strength & defence) may be more effective than the strength (+10 to strength only) - might hit maybe 1 less, but may get an extra hit in, and save an extra hit back.

what to alch(f2p)
To alch for XP, bulk buy steel platebodies at 900 each. To alch for skill & profit, make your own steel platebodies, at least until you reach 63 smithing (Mithril 2H with a stout) - You could also do mithril kites, but with the slower mining of the required ores, you really want the higher value of the 2H (same value as legs/skirts as well). There are few items (other than for some reason, the rune meds) that you can generally buy at alch-profit prices. I guess the med is not particularly desirable (the full is better), there is no specialist store that would pay the higher price (other than the wilderness bandit camp).

f2p pure quests?
Unless the Attack or magic XP unbalances your combat type, a F2P pure can do all quests except Restless ghost (prayer) or Dragon Slayer (defence), gaining entry to the Champions guild. If you were, say, a serious ranger, the quest XP to Attack (Vampire Slayer) and magic (Witches potion, Imp catcher) would not alter combat level at all, unless your range was so low that you wer tipped into a different class of combat dominating the level.

Port Sarim Magic Shop Autoers?
One of the Highwaymen (I think, the one that also walks close to the wizards) can be lured into Betty's shop. It won't attack any autos that have been there for the "non-agressive" time, but would be a very effective move if used after a system update, and repeated, just so long as other players don't keep killing it! There might also be a chance of relieving the auto of a large quantity of runes!

Potions
The same as the free spot potion from the Apothecary, and useful only as one of the random list of items that are called for in one (members) quest (cannot even be emptied for vials).

need some help!
http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?r ... All&race=0 Anything that might be dropped by a monster, try using it as a search keyword... ALL fields are searched even though the placement makes it look as if it would only be a name search. Ooh, nasty... Jungle, poison and other hazards, though if you do the minigame where the swamp snakes are found, be sure to have a knife to skin them with.

F2P--- Steel 2 Handers.
The only way to profit from F2P smithing (buying materials) is to make steel bars and sell, ploughing the proceeds back into more ores. If you mine one part yourself, then you also gain some mining, more profit, but slower. For bulk smelting in F2P, Al-Karid is the best place - with careful map rotation, it can be one click for each trip.

F2P Range training level 30 to 40
Take some spells too, any spell, though curse is best if you can. Tag the minotaur with a spell, and then when it's glaring at you over the fence, your arrows will be in a neat pile instead of scattered. If you successfully curse, it will help your range attack to hit, but even an unsuccessful one will set the position. Evan a wind strike would do for that, hit or miss.

What skill should I train next #2.
The "shield which protects from dragonfire" is given to you by the Duke of Lumbridge, at an appropriate point in the quest, after asking Oziach about it. It is similar in overall stats to an iron square, but is also popular with mage players in F2P as it has +2 magic defence and no magic attack penalties - the best mage/anti-mage shield in F2P - the orange rectangular one that many that many F2P players wield along with wizard robes and a staff. The Duke replaces it free, and the drop trick enables several to be collected.
-
MAGIC TRAINING F2P!
With runecraft 49, I wouldn't be buying strikes... 112 mind runes from a single run, or 140 airs... Use 'em on Ankous, for possible Law rune drops, or on Dark wizards for assorted runes including chaos and nats.

Gold mining spot
The 4 gold in the Karamja volcano may be worth a look, skeletons to keep the low levels away, and menbers can bank in Tzhaar. As for the Arzinian mine, the fee of 3 ores per load shipped (with Charos), has to be balanced against the best alternative mine and banking trip. Numerically, you will have given a lot of gold in fees, but what matters is that rate at which yours is mined and banked.

The Almighty Pie Guide **No Pics**
I'll see your pie, and raise you a stew. The stew is much ignored, but has advantages compared to Pie or Pizza: * Eaten in one bite of 11 - it's the poor man's alternative to Lobster (12). * Cooked at level 25, can be cooked over a fire. * No flour milling required. * Can be made with chicken instead of meat, while the potatoes can be pulled up as fast as cabbage. Working between Draynor bank, the potato field to the east and the chickens to the west, Stews can made fairly quickly, if a stock of bowls (good crafting XP) has been prepared.

What skill should I train next #2.
Getting defence to 40, for rune with chain or rune with addy platebody, means that you end up with "wasted" defence levels after the quest. On the other haand, you can never have too much strength, so maybe 40/40/35, Lobster for food, and an escape teleport if it goes wrong, is the solution - just don't forget the anti-fire shield, or Elvarg will toast you in one hit!
-
armor
Now: Coif, Leather body, studded chaps, anti-fire shield (second choice, wooden or training shield) - melee combat with slashing weapon, or no shield and range. Or range them (or something else) to get 40 range, then use green dragonhide vambraces and chaps. At 1 defence, studded chaps are better than iron legs, and green dragonhide is better still, melee or ranged!

What skill should I train next #2.
http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=21 The reward for Dragon Slayer is: 1. The ability to wear rune platebody - without the quest, rune or any decorative rune-equivalent platebody cannot be worn. 2. 18650 Defence XP 3. 18650 Strength XP

need some help!
A member with better than 30 mining, gets pure essence from the rune essence mine - not sure if that still applies if in an F2P world. Advantages of pure essence mining: 1. No competition, all miners succeed 2. One click to mine a full load 3. Valuable - generally more so than iron. Disdvantages: 1. Low mining XP given 2. May be slower than the best you can do with Iron (rocks to yourself, fast respawn on empty mine in busy world). Tallys? Check tip.it - the Bestiary can be searched for possible drops, and there are often some quite low level monsters that CAN drop good ones, though moving up the scale a bit probaly means more of the better drops, as the lowest level monsters tend to be very stingy with any good drops they do have.

What skill should I train next #2.
If you want to be close to "rune pure", then lay off any further defence training until you complete Dragon slayer - you'll have 40 defence after that, though that means buyin addy armour, or trusting to luck and going in with something lower (the antifire shield is a must, of course!). On those stats, I would power fishing and cooking to level 40 for lobster, not so much to make money (though lobster is a fairly good trading supply), but to avoid spending. Either do fly-fishing, or harpoon tuna at Karamja/Musa point - cooked Tuna sells for a minimum of 10gp at the store - not a lot, but better than dropping, as tuna is not a big seller. Other trade stock you can already get, is Iron or rune essence - just depends if you'd rather try to beat your way into trading worlds to sell, or make lower profits smithing and selling to stores. smithing steel bars to trade might be another option. Runecrafting: you can make triple airs, value 1260 gp per run if you can trade at 15gp per. Get to 28 and you can do triple minds, and the wilderness ditch may result in a slight increase in prices as it makes the shorter route rather annoying.

Ditch in Wilderness?
Abyssal Runecrafters (members) and Edgeville route mind crafters (F2P) all hate it. It will not stop "trust" luring, but it will stop trade dragging (eg. lurer offers trade, then steps across the wilderness line, so accepting the trade causses the victim to follow). The warning (like the old warning) only appears once, then jumping the ditch is just something you have to do to cross it. The only good point is that it does mark clearly the start of the wilderness, and avoids the spurious warning that used to occur in Oziach's or the edgeville store - which, of course, then renders the warning useless, as it does not appear again in the same session.

P2P Help! What to buy, What to do, Where to start?
Thinking about geting members on my main. And get: 60 attack, buy DDP++ (and other dragon weapons). I would also be pushing towards the "Family Crest" quest, going for either the goldsmithing gauntlets (high smithing XP from gold + do "Between a rock" for more gold) or the chaos gauntlets to do more damage with bolt spells. Buying skills? The skills I'd want would be a useful / quest level of farming (buying seeds you can use), Herblore (buying unids) - though actually, maybe better to combat good seed/herb droppers instead, and maybe construction, to the point of getting portals. Construction is a skill which can only be bought, as the few free ways to gain construction xp are very slow, and the more expensive ways, like having a butler plank logs, are faster - in general, Oak planks, giving 60 xp per plank used, and costing 250 gp for sawmill services (plus more for butler service if you go that way) are the main way to train. Balloon transport can also be used to aid in planking using the crafting guild and Varrock locations, but the quest needs 30 farming. A lot of member skills are required to open up areas and transport - opening up the fairy ring network is another one worth aiming for

Skilling outfit weapon?
I'm thinking a blurite or rune X-bow might go well with the rune defender in the other hand. Maybe a rune pickaxe, might look like you are wielding double pickaxes. And of course, I my Skull sceptre

need some help!
Take a look at http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=new_m ... _guide.htm - should give you a few ideas. Mining pure essence (from a low cash base, why buy?) would be good, it's worth far more than good old F2P essence, as it is required to make all runes other than the F2P runecrafting ones - get your RC level up and use it yourself (it also makes F2P runes), or sell it. With the right skill levels, things that cost gp in F2P (like nature runes) can make you gp in P2P. Another classic P2P moneymaker is flax picking and/or bowstring spinning.

Guns: will a ban reduce crime?
Ross Kemp (played a "tough guy" on TV) has been doing a series on gangs. In London he asked one of the gang members about getting a gun, and the answer was "what make do you want... back in a tick". Criminals and gang menbers who would consider a gun a "tool of the trade", are not going to be stopped by restrictions on public ownership, and while a reduction / elimination of legally held wepons reduces the possibility of the owner or someone else going crazy with one, it's doubtful how many (if any) of the weapons involved in mass shootings were legally and honestly held. One problem with weapons for "home defence", is that it would imply that they are within much more ready availability for use or abuse than a sporting gun in a locked cabinet. Knife crime is a problem too, but generally not in the form of mass killings.
