Where is the death level of security stronghold??
Doomster replied to pengzzz's topic in Help and Advice
The best spot to melee them is the northeast room - nothing BUT Ankou there. Your level may enable you to portal to the end of some of the previous floors without walking them first, otherwise once each level has been completed (get to the end and claim reward), you can then portal from the starting room to the end room, and ladder down. NB. Ankou can max hit 8 (melee), but do not hit often through full rune (better still if you have some dragon). -
Depends on what you want - if you just want levels, fast as possible, then power ranging might work. The hobgoblin spot across the water is pretty good for mage/range powertraining. If you want runes (assorted) then find a fairly clear world, and take 1k of arrows, range gear and food to the dark Wizards in the wilderness - so long as no PKers try to spoil your fun (non-multi, so they can't attack while you are in combat with a wizard), you can perforate wizards until your supplies run out, usually they will be non-aggressive long before that. You give away a point or two of max damage compared to better arrows, so tougher targets will inevitably put your arrows up for grabs before the kill, but going for "drop monsters" instead of "XP monsters" is a possibility - Lessers are miserable XP as they are quite tough, but can drop anything from junk/nothing up to a rune med (rarely).

A "standard" type of pure is the "Iron pure" - typical F2P build would be 40 attack (rune weapon), 50+ strength (and use strength potion), fish/cook or buy food appropriate to your hitpoints. Defence remains at 1. Armour: Full iron, plus sronghold boots, leather gloves and cape, amulet of strength or power. Optional: Range of 20 and studded legs instead of iron, or 40 and green chaps, green vambs instead of gloves. Optional: Mage of 25 to enable tele-escape (telenub!) Using prayer would significantly increase CB level (+1 for every 8 prayer), and it's a one shot deal in F2P - use up the prayer, and then carry wasted combat levels. The groups of prayers are also taken very differently. Attack/Strength prayers are not shown, and using those with a potion can increase your damage output. Protect prayers are shown, an are usually condemned in a "fair" fight. Finally, protect item (Rune weapon on an Iron pure) is a very cowardly way to fight, and is more an anti-PK strategy. If you raise defence, then your combat level is increased, but your hit is not. Using the minimum defence level for each armour gives rise to the second class of "pure", the Steel, Black, Mithril, Addy and Rune pure. The difference between higher metal pures and "mains" is small, the most significant ones are probably the Steel pure (1 more combat level for quite a bit more melee defence), or the Rune pure (taking care to hit a bare 40 defence after dragon slayer, by doing it at 33-34 defence & addy). PS. Attack vs. strength - in F2P, 40 attck is often favoured, as there are no weapons above rune (P2P would generally favour 60 attack and a DDP++), while strength increases damage. If actually getting hits is a problem, then go for more attack, even without any extra bonuses available - also choose the power amulet instead of the strength.

According to another site: Dodgy: 5% loss of HP, -3 to A/S/D stats Normal: heals 10% (of max) HP Good: heals 20%, + stat bonus (2/3/2) Seems the scale has been widened, with the "Amazing" and "Very dodgy". To compare with those, Trout (fast fly fishing) heals 7 for certain. Since Kebabs heal or damage a percentage, they DO have different effects for different levels - with only 30 HP, an "average" Kebab would only heal 3, the same as cooked meat that could be prepered from roadkill in chicken, giant rat or cow areas.

The guy is going to be a bigger embarrasment to them dead, than alive. There must surely be less suspicious ways (eg. arranging an accident), unless whoever was behind it, wanted to send a message to anyone else that they could get to them wherever and whenever.

Full helm (champs guild) Platebody (Horvik in Varrock) Legs (Louie in Al-Kharid, or champs guild, but more expensive there) Skirt (Al-Kharid) The kite shield is an ice giant drop, and is only traded in general stores (F2P), the store in Keldagrim that covers them may be player stocked only. A good session of Ice giant training usually yields 2 or 3.

The bandit camp store (F2P) also pays high alch prices... if you survive the trip into multicombat wildy!

Boring as hell, once your level is around 2x what you need to start cursing, the RSI for a level just isn't worth it. If you can craft airs & minds at a decent rate, strikes from a safespot need far less attention per XP, and are probably faster - curse the target first to maximize hits. The only thing good about cursing is it does tend to be cheap, and at a guaranteed 29 xp per shot (even misses), it can be a useful level pump. It's a bit like power mining though, do a lot, and come away with nothing but XP.

I think there may be a "trap spot" in the Edgeville dungeon, possibly a bit easier to hold... in the room to the west of the mine. Not exactly "safe", but good for trap/block moves.

do you have a "home world"? or are you nomadic?
Doomster replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
Nomad, usually taking the autoselect (but switching to the least populated in the next server group if I don't like the one offered - eg. already found it unstable) -
If the Minotaurs (level 12) die too fast, portal to the end of the level and work back to the level 27's. I'd also suggest fishing kit, so you can resupply at the river, rather than trudging back to the bank. With rune weapon & armour, you should be able to take down a number of Ankou (the northeast room with Ankou only) on a load of food - not great training, but they have a better drop list in members than in F2P, even of items which are F2P. The trick with the stronghold, is that you can move quickly from boring roadkill, to challenging opponents - level 2 has the flesh crawles, all-level aggressive for semi-afk

If you fail curse (in full metal) then you don't switch targets as often. Provoking wizards with curse is NOT a good idea, they will fight back. The caged Zammy Wizard at varrock shales off a curse very quickly, but there is only one and it's single combat. Ducks are quite good curse targets, as they can't retaliate, but as the ones that are cursed collect along with the ones that were missed on, picking out fresh ones is difficult. Some areas have a natural break that divides them into two groups.

Power alchers place noted items in the space that falls under the alch spell, and just click without moving - this is where the controversy arises over using "mousekeys" or a mouse with the ball removed as a clicker.

Got to be the right sort, of course, and some implementations will lose performance with 4 pieces installed, unless each piece operates as single banked (some say "single sided", but that does not always hold true that banks and sides are comparable). Older systems had even more limitations, with early PC100/133 SDRAM systems often unable to use 512MB modules or even some 256's

Next time there's a Census, my religion will either be: http://uctaa.net/index.html Or "Jedi Knight". Though I normally tend to state my religion as "C of E by default", though I consider organized religion to be more a source of conflict than a source of good.

Tip.It Times Presents: Quests: the FIVE Different Types?
Doomster replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
A little thin, But I get where it's coming from. For those who find it hard to see the point of Runescape, the challenge is whatever you care to make it. Go PK if you like, or merchant your way to a PHAT (now that's a tougher quest than any Jagex set). I was rather hoping for a "love puzzles / hate puzzles" examination, though - Ernest the chicken reminds me of the awful light switch puzzle in Crystal maze - pure trial and error. -
For the return from Karamja, you have to complete "Pirate's treasure", otherwise you are still a possible rum smuggler.

Pc problem - My Pentium 1 PC aint taking my 80gib harddrive
Doomster replied to vtm's topic in Tech and Computers
Try the site for whatever make the drive is, for info on: 1. Capacity limit options 2. DDO Overlay to run a larger drive Check BIOS option for LBA support (usually preferable) or "large" - with those, an overlay should not be needed. Anything from Win95B (OSR2 release) can realistically run a large drive (using FAT32) - previous versions had the FAT limit of 2GB per partition, although larger drives could be used. The era was also notorious for assorted capacity limits starting with the old IDE/CHS sizing lowest common denominator, limiting tracks to 1023, heads to 16 and sectors to 63 (the old 528MB limit), followed by various other limits of 2GB, 8GB, 32GB (the most common one for a "capacity limit" selection). -
The one on the right of the picture, is that a knurled head? It's a wierd layout, the "Terminator" small case, perhaps. - yes it is, and that shoul be a knurled bolt, the only one holding the case shell on. Undo and the try to slide the shell backwards, them lift off. Correction: http://www.digit-life.com/articles/asus ... index.html Slide forward, the location of the plastic clamp to release is not made clear. Unless something actually happened to the sound card, it sounds like it might just need a driver, if it was lost in a reformat. Look for any label numbers, a CT number on the soundcard etc.

Since they didn't even give it autocast, the sceptre is inferior to a plain staff in combat (though equivalent in melee). It has only two (or perhaps three) uses. 1. Display item, a perfect combnation with the Halloween skeletoin outfit (too late if you missed that). 2. One space teleport escape item (can also be wielded). 3. For higher levels with multiple piece sets - can actually be used as a routine teleport, though the location is some way from edgeville bank, and that's about the closest thing of much use. Remember, it breaks after 5 transports.

If there is too much competeition, move! The Oaks to the north of Draynor (even if you are banking them) can be faster than than the ones that are closer, if you are competeing with woodcutters that may be higher level. It's not like mining, as all cutters CAN get logs (from anything higher than normal trees), but too many cutters bring down a tree very quickly, with time wasted on moving or respawn.

Yes, but if you try to take the rum (Pirates Treasure quest) that way, it breaks!

fastest and cheapest way for f2p ranging. lvls 1-99
Doomster replied to Shady Character's topic in General Guides
If you carry the Oak short with you (good idea), then switch to it immediately on reaching level 5. I'd also favour using the best possible range armour, for the attack bonus, rather than the defence - this means full leather to start, with hard leather body if not keeping a 1 defence pure. At 5 ranged, wield an oak short. At 20 ranged, wield a willow short, equip studded legs and coif, with studded body if you have 20 defence. At 30 ranged, the Maple short At 40, Green dragonhide vambraces and chaps, green body if you do defence and dragon slayer, otherwise stay with the leather, hard leather or studded. In general, use up the lower grade arrows first, at any level, the next grade of arrow MIGHT hit 1 higher, but are not needed against easy targets. PS. If starting a ranger in tutorial island, train to 3 ranged as the arrows are free.
