Without looking, I'd say Power is +6 to all forms of attack and all defence , can't remember the strength... It's the best F2P ranger amulet. Other rigouts that would be usable as a F2P ranger: Coif, Studded leather body, Green dragonhide legs and vambs, normal boots & cape (the best non-Dragonslayer ranger kit). If you already have 40 defence, then going for full green is probably worthwhile, espicially if you play your true position in the combat triangle and go after mages... if being melee'd back, then rune chain is probably better. One problem, if you are a dedicated ranger, Dragon slayer on an F2P ranger means using the weedy crossbow & bronze bolts, unless there's a reliable dragonfire-proof safespot left.

Goat's Budget training 1: Possibly the most underated spell
Doomster replied to death_goat2's topic in General Guides
I was going to say "P2P would do better with chaos runes for bolts" - BUT: 1. At the specified RC level, it would be 1x chaos instead of 4x mind, and a bolt is only 50% more power than a strike. 2. The chaos altar is in wildy, inside a maze, the alternative being the abyss. Strikes may be a bit cheapskate, and a bit slow, but pack a hell of a punch for the resources used to buy or make the runes. Ideal for safespotting. My favourite stronghold spell, even against the Ankou - my pure mage is stocking up on deaths for serious combat, but is usually armed with a stack of minds, airs and fire staff. -
The presentation is new, but before, you could use a staff in defensive + attack with spell, for the same result. It does split the hit XP between magic & defence (but not the base spell XP). If you need more defence on a mage, then doing melee defensive would probably be more effective - against fairly lightweight targets, like chickens if you need feathers.

For levels, or to hit "paydirt"? If you have a bit of members left, maybe 30 mining and pure essence is the best "paydirt" you can get, not great for levelling, but likely to pay better than iron. For combined levels, WC + FM works. A defence ammy and full leather (lighter than iron), while wielding a magic staff (good for deefence, esp. mage defence) may be the best recipe for eventual wilderness mining.

With a decent melee combat level and good RANGED armour, the Wizards can be meleed just as effectively. Did a 1 man invasion of the wilderness dark wizards (in full green D-hide) - Wow! - on my main, barely needed to eat at all, while the wizards kept attacking, rhen able to prolong food even more by picking on level 7's only when they turned non-aggressive. In the end, it was a PKer who gave me the hurry-up to leave, after keeping PKer at bay with a last combat. The varrock wizards are so busy, while the widerness ones are practiacally unused, begin by auto-attacking any level - the only fly in the ointment is a possible PKer close enough in level, so have an escape plan - simplest one being to use a low occupancy world and run south on any white dot, or spend a law rune on a tele, as any good session with the wizzies should bring in some replacements.

There is a lot to recommend "clay bowling" at the craft guild, as all the marerials are available and can be processed there without much competition. The making and firing of bowls has a "make X", but the mining and wetting of clay doesn't (use multiple water containers of the same type, even the bowls you just made, to use the implied "fill all"). Faster or slower XP than silver? - probably faster, since clay should be a 1-hit with little respawn wait and no travel required. Boring as hell and no profit though, but no loss either, though no gain to any other skill other than a small amount of mining. OTHER METHODS: Stock up on coins, needle and thread, and do cowhides from the pen by the guild, good if you want to train a little combat as well, but slower than bowls. Silver / Gold - while silver is better than un-gemmed gold, if the ores are available (and you can smelt it), take the gold as well for a faster load, tele back to Falador. Using a run of Falador -> Air altar -> Craft guild - > tele back, I then recouped the laws I used in a firestrike storm on the Ankou in the stronghold (level 44 runcrafting, 5x airs helped!). I wonder how much XP you can get in an hour of straight bowl making, and what the best lineup is - maybe keeping 14 bowls, to fill all and wet 14 clay, might work best of all, doing make 10 / make 5 - as holding a full load of clay and doing "make X", seems to skate close to the timeout limit

The house portal looks more like the stargate, but the idea of dialling.... Maybe the dials should have had runes instead of letters.

Tip.It Times Presents: Will there be a RS3?
Doomster replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
They are "JAva Gaming EXperts", so for better or worse, anything coming from their studio will probably be implemented in Java. So just what is wrong with Java anyway? Maybe J2SE 6.0 will enable greater use of graphics card perfomance, and the argument of Java size/performance rages on - largest isllustration being in the shape of bittorrent clients, where the main Java one (Azaureus) is often reconed to be slow and bloated, compared to a C++ one like uTorrent - a lot oc comparison in that field, as there are BT clients written in almaost every language you can think of, compiled, JIT or interpreted. I digress.. RS2 or "RS3D" was the switch from cartoony 2D to solid modelling, now unless there is something as big as that, there will be no need for a switch to RS3. The only reason to make something that would be RS3, is if it was going to be incompatible with continued development of RS2 - more likely, is that RS2 may evolve into "RS2.1" if sufficient changes are required - maybe the engine changes mean it is already RS2.1? As for a new game, a "total conversion" of RS2 would be one possibility, though rather obvious if armour became space suits, magic became ray guns and transporter technology etc. One thing they DO need to consider, is better use of the range of screen sizes available - RS2 needs a resizable client. -
Found 400 at Rimmington store, 5gp a piece. If autoers are offloading there, may be worth swinging by, but a bit far from a bank, for a load of 27

Only the first level is multi - the higher level minotaurs near the exit (portal in and work back to them) may present a usable multi target

I owe several levels to the stronghold Ankou (real reason dor going there was to balance my sceptre parts sets to store the extras all as complete skulls, since I had surplus level 1 pieces. Having done 42 runecradting (last level or 2 on airs), 44 (on minds) and then airs, I had stacks of runes, so safespotted the Ankou as I wore them down. Decent payback in law runes (covered the ones I used in air + crafting guild running), plus some other stuff, once they go non-aggressive, even a connection loss can't kill me. Used to use curses for levelling, but unless you really don't want any extra HP, I'd favour mass destruction using strikes... get the airs by running at world 16 (for runes) if your level is low, though minds are more of a problem. Of course, since strikes are not the fastest takedown, cover is essential. Curses still give more XP per cast, and crumbles would rip through Ankou, but they have to be shot 1 by 1. Each Ankou gets about 15-20 strikes to finish it (preferably opened with a curse). If you crumble undeads, open with a curse, repeat if it didn't hit, so more scoring hits are made.

Certain bank spots in varrock bank west
Doomster replied to gtacrackhead's topic in General Discussion
So where is it for F2P ore trading? I'd guess that would be Falador east, since it's near the mine. -
Also known as "Fast Free Airs". Cart 25 essence to the air altar, and exchange it with a crafter for: 125 Airs + 25 noted ess, 2-2.5k coins + 25 noted ess Other deals, such as 3k coins, no ess back. Those are the "runner" options, getting cash or runes (but no XP) for the trip. Crafting works the opposite way, standing in the altar with a large supply of noted essence, cash, gaining XP but losing cash. It is 25 and 25 ONLY, as the crafter needs a slot for cash, a slot for noted ess and a slot for runes. Cash deals seem to be more popular than "free airs", though the free air route is preferable if you need runes and don't plan on getting a high RC level yourself.

If you want the Zombie emotes (Walk & dance), then hang onto all the pieces - it's apparently not in strict order now, so you could randomly be given an emote, but if you have certain pices, then you cannot be given them agian. If you bury bones for prayer (not sure if ectoing or prayer altars give the event), then Zombie is the easiest "full random" to get... got it and use as my skill outfit.

Rule 8 does discriminate against those without a friend's character to prevail upon for stuff. or as a high level smithing armourer for a clan, you could equip everyone except your own alt. Rule 8 is fundamentally flawed, though the only really good reason to prevent inter-character transfer is to make it harder for botmasters to pool their ill-gotten gains.

The halloween event has to be on time, as it would end up looking pretty stupid if it didn't cover the actual date, even though they usually run for longer. -
Stronghold boots (either style) for a little extra defence - best F2P melee boots. Wear green dragonhide vambraces if you have 40 ranged - best F2P melee "gloves".

F2P Gold: Rimmington: Two, busy or untouched, powermine iron (or tin/copper if iron is busy) while waiting, or catch-mine gold with a load of iron. No monsters. Karamja Volcano: Four, long way from a bank, Skeletons patrol the area. Occasionally busy, but often clear - a good spot if you really need gold, but a slow spot unless that's all you need. Dwarven mine: Two, usually VERY BUSY, but good for catch-mining among other stuff if clear. Scorpions & King Scorpions. Al-Kharid/Chasm: Two, usually completely mined out - a very busy mine, considering how far from the bank it really is. Scorpions, but no Kings. Rather than wait for a full load of one ore, I usually catch-mine the good stuff along with iron, since iron is a good baseline smithing resource (ore for ore, it's actually more efficient than steel, even at 50% success).

:ohnoes: - Not a safe/reliable escape though. My preferred escape kit is the Skull sceptre - not had occasion to try tapping out with it wielded yet. PS. For greater effect, light logs, them move onto fire and use LHP teleport, uttering suitable incantation as you depart.

An Ammy of power is superior, +2 more attack than an Accuracy and +6 defence as well, but you're down by up to 10k if you lose it. On the other hand, you get one accuracy free, can often pick up others from noobdeaths or sold to general stores. The main weakness of the Accuracy is that it cannot be manufactured or replaced. While every player (other than a no combat level skill or defence pure) can get one, only one is issued per player, so rhe supply is not unlimited, neither is there trading market for them.

{F2P}Need help on magic!!!!!!SOS!!!!!!and a bit of ranging..
Doomster replied to johnsunjohns's topic in Help and Advice
If you can survive getting into the stronghold Ankou safespot, Fire strikes by the K work well, best to land a curse first, for better hit. While the caged lesser MIGHT drop a rune med (you DID bring telegrab runes, right?), A session with the Ankou should bring in some some laws. If you want arrows for ranged, then strike the Minotaurs on level 1, for copious iron arrow drops, the zombies on level 2 (steel). Catablepons on level 3 drop mithril arrows, but not at any great rate, while the Ankous on level 4 can drop Addy arrows (rare drop compared to law runes). With the slow damage rate of strikes, safespotting is essential, or the Catablepons or Ankou will take you to pieces in no time, hitting 6's or 8's -
Top of sceptre: Catablepon, 3rd level The 4 pieces are: Right skull half: Level 1, Minotaurs, easy by any combat level, with perfect range/mage hideouts. Bottom of Sceptre: Level 2, Flesh crawlers - all level aggressive (like wilderness monsters). the southeast rooom has nothing but Flesh crawlers, take food, weapon and armour for a training party! Top of Sceptre: Level 3, Catablepons. I hate them, they have strong defence, weaken + melee attack and can be stingy droppers. Limited safespots. Left Skull half: Level 4, Ankou. The northeast room has only Ankou, but the south central room has a more workable safepot. Great targets for crumbles, but fire strikes from a safespot are cheaper. Split down the middle, the first 2 levels are quite easy, the second two are tough, at least to get enough kills.

???? 10p a day, actually - it would also buy a cheap calculator... SMS is ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5 and is only appropriate to thaose who don't have a better method, or those who are jumping into members for a month for a bit of powerlevelling things that go a lot faster in members. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.20 or ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5 is: +. Not much compared to most other online games. -. A lot for a "browser game" with limited graphics, interface and interaction. +. Not much if you play a lot of hours. -. A lot if you play fairly casually, or want to put more than one character into members. One thing it would be good to see them consider, is a discount on multiple character accounts, especially when you consider the effect of rule 8.

They made TV advertising time too cheap, so now there are so many junk ads that you make a concious effort to give them no attention whatsover. If I was in carge of a major brand, I'd be asking the TV companies to double the price and halve the ad time, so my ads wouldn't be swamped by the junk.
