  1. Just got: Command & Conquer: First Decade Playing: C&C Games, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Trackmania Nations Forever
  2. I played this a while back. Literally made me laugh out loud.
  3. Spyro the Dragon! Managed to get 110% or whatever it was when I finished the bonus lands at the end of the game.
  4. Naw. I used to play the Sims a lot when I was younger, and I wouldn't say it was a girls game. Yes, some of the things like pets and such seems a bit on the girly side, but what other game lets you create mini versions of your friends/enemies and lets you trap them inside a burning house?
  5. +1. GIMP is free, and is as good as many 'pay for' drawing packages out there.
  6. It doesn't work (opens History instead, I'm using Fx 3.1b2) :(
  7. If it only weren't for the fact you constantly need to buy new hardware to keep playing at an optimal graphics quality. To be able to play newest games like GTA4 on a PC with quality graphics & no screen lag, not only do you need at least a dual/quad core processor, you will need roughly 4GB of RAM and a 512MB-1GB graphics card, and a good motherboard. Doesn't sound bad in concept, but a lot of people can't just buy a new $1000+ computer every time a new game comes out. Before long games will require 16GB RAM and multicore processors just to even start up. I usually play on the PC but consoles are much more stable... If you buy a game for your console, you're guaranteed to get it running (unless it's a defective CD of course). If you buy a game for your PC, you'll just get a bitter disappointment after finding out a part on your system is inadequate & you need to spend hundreds of dollars for a component. GTA4 was an exception in that it wasn't ported well and was poorly optimized. Most newer games will run at a medium-high spec on systems which cost little over £600 or so. Infact, if you buy something decent, you can buy a decent PC which will last 3 - 4 years or longer if you upgrade it. For example, my PC can run Left 4 Dead fine on highest settings for example, even though it's an ageing dell with a P4 and a mid range Geforce 8 series card. Also, even if you buy a console, you're most likely going to want a decent PC anyway, so the cost difference is marginal (especially if you're paying for Xbox Live). And finally, PCs generally have better backwards compatibility than consoles. New PS3s can't run PS2 games, while you can still easily find and run older PC games like Half Life 1 and Red Alert.
  8. AV: Avira Antivir Personal Anti-spyware: Ad-Aware 2008 Firewall: ZoneAlarm All are good free 'anti' software.

    Random guess: Supreme commander?
  10. Knowing lots of pointless facts :P I have a knack of remembering useless bits of information (often instead of the more important things >_>). For example, one nibble is 4 bits (half a byte).

I thought you were supposed to wait 2 days, not 2 hours? Anyway, that's most likely GRiD.
  12. New engi updates are full of win :D I'm betting they're nerfed in some way soon though. [hide=1280*1024][/hide]
  13. +1. As is typical with prebuilds, buying everything separately and putting them together yourself (or paying someone to do so) could save you a bit.
  14. Make sure you've got the latest version of IE. Also, have you scanned your PC to make sure you haven't got any malware? If so, what do you use? (Tbh though another browser such as Firefox would probably be the best way to get around this. You can even make it look exactly like IE if you really want.)
  15. PC uber alles ;)

Chessmaster 9000 or the opening scene from Age of Kings.
  17. Portal ending on a real console terminal: The guy even did using an 8080 apparently :P
  18. I know the Synergy mod has an option for 3rd person view, but personally I found it made the game harder because the crosshair wasn't as accurate as in 1st person. Post the same thing here and someone should be able to help ;)
  19. I take it this is different to games like tribal wars and such? It sounds good, but I can imagine it would have some flaws compared to normal rts.
  20. I'd say WoW has nice graphics than RS, but it isn't that special compared to other games. Even something like Half Life 2 (2004) has nicer eye candy than WoW. Anyway, my old card I had could run WoW fine on near highest settings. It was an ATI Radeon x600 256Mb, so quite old :P. Most modern cards ('mobile' cards if you want a laptop) should handle it fine.
  21. viewtopic.php?f=45&t=764548 ;)
  22. I can't look at really fat people now without thinking 'Boomer'.
  23. Meh. Personally I find Fx 3.1b2 to be faster than chrome anyway, but then maybe that's just my PC. Also, it might be worth mentioning that Chrome and Safari are based off the same engine, kind of like Firefox and Seamonkey.
