  1. I personally think that the only reason people mention 9/11 today (Not specifically this day) is because there is still a war going on that was the result of the attacks. I feel that the sacrifice of the fire fighters who lost their lives, and the recovery volunteers experiencing problems and still without paid for health care, to be more important that the fact that it was an actual attack. You see my dad, uncle and grandfather are/was a fire fighter, and 9/11 is the perfect example of what it takes to be a fire fighter. The willingness to give your life in the attempt to save another's, and the physical/psychological demand of the job. Other than that, I see it as an act of terrorism. I'm sorry that I can't show any sympathy, but I am not American and have my own problems with your country to be capable of doing so.
  2. Summer just isn't summer with the droning of cicadas in the background. That isn't sarcasm. I find it really interesting how they can be so loud.
  3. And the director of machinimas for Sour Grunt... I iz boss. Anyways, I have thing relating to my machinima (and halo)... I have a cold, so right now the voice in it dosen't sound as good as usual. I might have to re-do the voice part later, but until then... My microsoft Word wont work anymore - I can't finish my script, edit it, or even view it. :o Man, sometimes I wish for Microsoft to go to... Chuck Norris' house. I'm fairly certain that WordPad (Start>All Programs>Accessories) is able to open Word documents. If not, you can also try Notepad (Same place).
  4. I agree that he could have done it sooner, but it's been said a few times already, see pages 13-14 of the VG&C Index. You didn't seem to notice them, or just ignored/laughed the warnings off. At least this way we know you recognize it. Anyways, just stop and think before you post. If your posting something just because you think it'll be funny, try to work something relevant to the topic into the post. Or just not post at all. It's how I try to keep my posts at their best - I will write up a post, and often just delete it because I feel it is unnecessary or inappropriate. Now, Lenin, I know that it had to be done sometime, but you could've at least planned it instead of exploding on Bluejay. He's your/my friend after all.
  5. Having achievements for each difficulty is a good thing, not everyone plays at the hardest difficulty. It is when you have to beat a lower difficulty to prove that you can beat it, after beating the hardest difficulty (I'm looking at you, Guitar Hero) that it gets stupid and annoying. And Lion, I don't think that one if pure chance, it's being creative enough that it sparks the interest of the creators.
  6. Just because it has been used a few times, what's a squeeze? I know it has to do with star power.

I would pay 50 bucks to play that... I headr there was Sticky Trip Mines  Those were awesome. Stick one in the cockpit of a banshee so that your opponent (And you teammate just as often) doesn't know where it is. They get in the banshee, you get a kill out of nowhere. Or stick it to the bottom of a warthog, triple kill out of nowhere. And I'm pretty sure these things FLEW if you threw one after jumping off a grav lift. Never tried it, but I've seen a video and I thought it looked like a frisbee. Anyways though, the Beta was simply amazing. Oh, and I really do want to get some custom game slayer matches going on. That whole idea of restarting the Xbox Live nights sounds like a good idea. It has to be Saturday though. I don't care about the time, but Monday through Friday my time is chewed up between (Canadian/American) Football, Hockey and school work. Then Sunday might be out of the question depending on when my hockey practices are. And Bluejay, if a TIF one doesn't work, we can just get one going with the clan. By the way, what's the name of the clan anyways :?
  8. I'm with limp on this. Until consoles can support 200GB+ harddrives, it is just impractical to digitally distribute games to consoles on a large scale.
  9. I won't be playing Halo 3 since I already told you I won't, but I will be playing Halo 2. I've actually found it to be much more enjoyable. The only thing that needs to be added is Xbox Guide integrated into Original 'box games.
  10. If you're actually organized, it's incredibly easy. I agree it can be hard though depending on how you do it, which is why I have made a system, where if I download music, I download EVERYTHING I can by each artist. Then I group into folders by artist, add folder to library. The only thing I wish is that I could be able to re-scan my computer for new music, and that you were given an option to automatically clear any duplicates. I also hate buying music digitally. I pay for CD's because I like the hard copy. There is no way someone can pirate me an entire CD for free.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the new name of /b/, according to moot at least (Which I think makes it /b/ law), "positron uprising i for one welcome our new [crossedout]proton[/crossedout]] spiral overlords ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH" I also think it's pretty clear the moot has world-filtered everything to "ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH"
  12. I have an Ipod because I can't really find anything of similar capacity that I can trust. I would have gotten a Zen, if they made anything over 20GB. There was a 32GB mp3 player I had found, but I really did not trust it. I would have gotten an iTouch, if it wasn't for the $500 and not being able to change the song without having it out in the open. I'd rather keep it discreet that I'm walking around with $300+ compacted into one easy-to-steal object. So I settled with the iPod "Classic" 80GB. Some might say it's massive, but for me it's the perfect size. Everything is easy to use, it fits in my pocket very well, and with 4,000 songs on it and around 1-2 hours of video, I still have 56GB available. My next best option was a 32GB Creative Zen player for $20 more than what I ended up paying before tax (My mom is one helluva barterer). Basically, an iPod was the best price I could get for what I wanted, and since I had owned a 2G nano (Which I put through Hell and back), I knew I could trust Apple not to screw me over on quality. And what is so bad about iTunes? I personally love it, because I find it quite simple. Smart play lists are awesome, the Library is easy to navigate, Party Shuffle is useful, and making custom playlists is just incredibly easy for me since it's drag and drop. I would use Windows Media Player, but I hate how it looks. Also, coverflow is something that should never be included as a plus. It is pure gimmick, and has proven to be of absolutely no use to me. One thing that I love about my new iPod versus old one is the fact that I can change the shuffle settings in Now Playing, I don't have to go alllll the way to the Settings menu. tl:dr? I like iPod because of my experiences with them, and I don't see why iTunes is considered to be the anus of media players.

Best use I ever got out of Crackdown. They ended up with some problem's on the Xbox Live end of things, so the Beta was released a few hours late. They made up for it with I think an extra 2 days of the Beta. But yeah, it was completely awesome. Only maps were Valhalla, Snowbound and High Ground. Valhalla was godly. Again, I would be willing to pay over $20 just to get back the Beta.
  14. You don't read the news very often do you? The media always blame the video games. Depending on what crime it is. Murder is blamed on rap/death metal. Suicide is blamed on emo/goth style music or video games. Maybe this is a governments attempt to get kids to play outside. (it isn't working lol) Actually, murder is usually blamed on gangs, and suicides aren't usually mentioned. I watch the news around 3-5 times a week.
  15. Heh, dissolving a company just to give MGS some good employees. That is really a joke to me.

I'm agreeing with loser, you really couldn't help but laugh if you were to see the world and your existence coming to and end within the next few moments. I will be sure to laugh as hard as I can if there is some quirk of Physics and everything does get destroyed. But, I know that nothing wil happen. I'm also hoping it answers some big questions, like supersymettry. That could very well make communication instaneous, think how much that would help space exploration.

Shotguns are awesome. Shotgun camping is not. Although, trying to dig an enemy out of the shotgun cave in Snowbound is quite fun on Team Doubles. I also wish that I could get a handful of people together and just play some regular slayer games instead of mini-games or Infection, on the default maps. I really like the original map set. Although it will NEVER beat the awesomeness of the Halo 3 Beta. That was the most fun I've had on Halo and my Xbox ever. I really wish there was someway to get that back. I would pay upwards of 1200 MSPoints if we would get that as a play list/separate game. Sticky trip mine.
  18. So wait, what? How does this have anything to do with Halo. First of all, he OWNED the .22, so it's not like he was unfamiliar with playing with a gun. Second of all, if he owned the .22, then his parents should have taught him about the fact that a round will be in the chamber if the gun had been (Loaded is the word I think?), and that pointing the gun at your head is just asking for the red spray. I mean, I thought you meant he was jumping around, and thinking he can jump off a cliff and still survive, goes ahead and does so. Not point a gun at his head and "pretend" to shoot himself. I don't see how Halo can be to blame for him shooting himself. The kid should have known better, even if he's 11. And while he should have known better, he still shouldn't have free access to a gun of any sort. It's like how you wouldn't let anyone under the age of 12 be near a lighter (You might also need to include me in there too). While they know better, it's still too tempting to go and play with the lighter/matches if they are right there.

For me the worst part is when is the first time your outside with the flood, in that snowy area, and you have all your Elite buddies helping you out.
  20. You still have to remember that you'd need A LOT of games to become a general. Also, you would only be a general in that single playlist. I doubt anyone has 5000+ games in a single playlist. I also think that they should be connecting your skill to your rank, i.e. you can get to general no matter what your skill, but the higher you skill, the faster you can get to general. And "You won't" lose your katana, according to a reply on the Halo 3 forums, from a Bungie employee. He managed to get first post too. By the way, does anyone else love Bungie's sense of humour?
  21. New Achievements! Also, just in time for us to complete the with Lenin. Oh, and I love the Bungie maps. DLC Objective, Stand Off Team Snipers, High Ground, and Valhalla if you get a good game going I also loved Gaurdian when I was pushing my skill to 40 in Lone Wolves, and the Pit. Snowbound is a fun Doubles map, Narrows I had a good time on with a friend when Multiteam still existed, and Rat's Nest is also good for Objective. I just really like the way Bungie makes their maps. Foundry is the only map of theirs I hate, but we all know that it's main purpose is Forging. Now, back to AU2. Some of the stuff on it just looks awesome to me. New achievements, new ranking system :D
  22. What's your definition of theory in this context? The definition of theory is usually a claim that has not be definitively proved with scientific backing. Evolution and Creation are theories. I have to copy/paste this so many times in these debates that, honestly, it gets old. Fair enough, I was just too lazy to actually look up the definition, and just went by what I thought it was  I also guess that rules out Creation as a scientific theory.
  23. Listening to a song off the album, "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" and I'm really liking it. I love how, like Alexisonfire does sometimes, they have what I consider to be good vocals for a Rock/Metal-type genre. They also still include the heavier vocals, and I think it's a wonderful mix.
  24. My commercial-viewing experience will never be the same.
