  1. I'm considering getting my brothers old driver's license (His G2, which isn't a full license) when he turns 19. Then I can use it to buy alcohol, sell it to people I know, charging $10 extra for it. I think it'd be a good idea, basically would pay for my own beer fund.
  2. Scientology is something I tend to stay away from. I've seen too much propaganda against it for me to believe it has done anything wrong. At the same time, that propaganda had an effect on me. I swear it nearly drove me over the edge of rage. Two parts of my mind, each completely adamant on their belief, contradicting each other. Scientology is "just a quirky Hollywood religion". Then again, Christianity was probably considered just a cult when it was starting to spread.
  3. I'm at the top end of an "ideal" BMI according to that calculator. I'm not surprised though. I can play sports well, but it's not as if I'm completely free of fat. Hell, I could do with replacing a bit of fat with muscle. Especially on my upper-body, my power is all in my legs.
  4. Alternatively I swear I've seen a logo almost exactly like this before.
  5. I would imagine that there would be on each race's home world, but without the profit of truth there is no one to lead them. Well, yes and no. Yes, that the Covanent wern't all on the Ark or within the radius of the ring when it fired, and no, because there are stull many many other prophets, but some aren't as known or as evil as the three High Prophets as they were called. The only "evil" prophet was the Prophet of Truth. He knew all along that he had nothing to do with the Halo rings, but that it was the humans that did. Instead, he created the lie that is the Great Journey, and deceived the other Prophets and Covenent. And the Covenent, moreover the Brutes, probably would have all been guarding the Prophet while he attempted to activate the Halos. What I actually would have found funny is if the Prophet succeeded. He would not have experienced anything, since the Ark is outside of the Halos' firing radii. He would just be standing there, wondering why nothing happened. Also, I liked the ending, the only thing I would have liked more is if it were harder. Even on Legendary it's just too easy. The problem with the Flood is that they're too easily taken care of in a vehicle. Also, the driving is way too easy. I want some pinholes to thread, maybe some jumps that really require some good aim. This thing was basically hit and miss. Either you easily got through, or a panel exploded when you're a foot in front of it. Or, even worse, a bad roll that puts your warthog sideways onto one of the catwalks. Those are just a [bleep].
  6. The increase of combat-related updates, and the general trend of Jagex favouring combat recently, is almost definitely because of the elimination of the old Wilderness. Jagex was trying to keep the combat-oriented players interested in the game, and PKing was a major part of the game for combatants. Also, there are some skillers that are thriving in post-RWT Runescape. I would be one of them if I still played regularly, and they are the gatherers. The ones that chopped the logs, mined the ores, caught the fish, farmed the herbs, and are the start of the process from potential resource to finished product. I'd even go so far as to say that without the gatherers, Runescape would have no economy. A very good example is the removal of RWT. The majority of the bots were resource-gatherers, and with their absence, the prices of certain items skyrocketed. A good portion of raw materials experienced a sharp rise in price, making it much more worthwhile to be a gatherer. Skilling hasn't died, it just shifted from producing to collecting.
  7. I definitely agree with you. After the lockout, the game just wasn't the same in the NHL. Then again, I would have lost interest anyways seeing how I can't stand to watch hockey because it makes me want to play it. I've been playing for 7 years, definitely hoping to keep playing after high school (Essentially when I'd have to join an adult league, because the league I'm in only goes to 17). So I have at least 2 more years of hockey guaranteed for me, 3 if you include this season which has only really started (First exhibition game was yesterday, we beat the defending champs 5-4). I don't really watch hockey games, I'm more of a highlight reel before school in the morning kind of person.
  8. I saw the demo of it from E3, and it definitely sparked my interest. I think that it is a very unique way about going about things. It's really more the simplicity of the controls, but the complexity of the game mechanics that intrigue me. You use what, all of 1 button and a control stick?
  9. What? No. The first time I tried to get the meta-game achievements on Sierra 117, I had those options set and was going solo. I took me forever to finish, I think something like and hour and a half. When I did it on Legendary solo, no skulls, took half that time, 45 minutes.
  10. It's more just an extra Cortana-flash-thingie. And getting all the meta-game game achievements will take a while. Also, I doubt I'll be able to play. I also challenge everyone to finish campaign on Normal with all plus sans Iron on. It's harder than Legendary w/o skulls.
  11. I would be up for it if I didn't have friends coming over. Maybe if you guys are still playing when they leave.
  12. I'm somehow in before Lenin. Wait for him, I know he's in JROTC, I think I'll link him here so you two can discuss.
  13. Dizzle, what? Honestly, I have no idea what you're trying to say. That idea would have best been explained as just text, sans video.
  14. I might buy this just because I don't have one and it supports SD without a Flashcart. Other than that, the camera is just a gimmick, the browser is a joke ("You'll be able to get on for free at "Nintendo Zone" hotspots, which will be located in Japanese McDonalds," Does that mean that you pay for it anywhere else?). Yeah, the only improvement is that there is now no need for a flashcart. Like Ginger said, the only thing I expect from Nintendo is good games. This new version makes it a bit easier to access Homebrew, but probably won't do anything worth re-buying.
  15. Now I see why I usually hate opening your threads, although I think you might have made one or two decent ones. First of all, as has already been said, your posts consists of the following things: A list of games, quality pending. "Nuff said repeated several times. A complete lack of information A complete lack of comments A flame towards non-Nintendo-fanboys (Actually, I'd say this is the entire point of your post, "Wii rocks, everything else sucks") A complete lack of intelligence A complete lack of common sense (Runescapeloser and /b/? Get real. Also, you're the closest thing to a /b/tard in this thread) A complete lack of pretty much everything that makes a thread or post good. Work on those before you make people take you seriously. Think about your posts, and don't just think you can post that half-thought garbage you're trying to pass off as a post. Now, to actually reply to you. Well actually, it's near-impossible to reply to you (Short of starting a flame war), other than with a list of games, because you haven't really said anything worth commenting on. Also, the things you thing are so good (New Zelda and Mario) may as well just be the last drops of sour milk from the cash cow that is those series. Just because the next game of a franchise is coming out, doesn't mean it's new. Now, I have no clue what the games Conduit, Sin and Punishment, Kid Icarus, Punch Out, or Day of Disaster are. Nor to I have any idea what the Nintendo DSI may be. Also, the WiiShop channel is no big idea. In fact Nintendo is a few years late with this one, Xbox 360 has had the Xbox Live Marketplace since launch, and I'm fairly certain that the PS3 has had an online content store since it's launch. A WiiSpeak Channel? See Xbox Live Private Chatting. You also think that this is going to turn into Xbox Live? Lets hope so, because that means it may actually be "good". If you give owners of Wii's microphones, you will end up with far more little kids on games than you will with Xbox or PS3. Why? Wii's games are tailored for everyone, and that pretty much means that the majority of players will be kids. Wii storage solution? That is a fix to a major problem that should have been fixed before the Wii was even released. It just shows that Nintendo underestimated the impact of downloadable content, despite the Xbox Marketplace being live for a year prior to the Wii's ship. The popularity of the XBLM should have shown Nintendo that they need more storage capability. Club Nintendo. What? This could be anything, all you did was insult anyone that doesn't have a Wii. Pokemon. Been there, done that, these games really are just complete repeats of each other. The only variance is the introduction of another hundred Pokemon that are just copies of Pokemon that already exist, with names that give you the feeling that the creators ran our of names, and so went with complete gibberish. Was a great game, the first six still are. It's the ones following where the repetition starts to set in, but at least the following set was able to mix it up a bit with abilities. Bringing back the older games, while awesome, does not make Nintendo "rock again". It just makes you remember how good they used to be. It's like taking an amazing picture you drew a decade ago, and parading it around. It doesn't matter that you have lost your artistic ability to you, but it would impress everyone more if you sucked back then and were amazing now. I don't think I need to remind you that Nintendo is an awesome company. However, you need to realize that maybe it's time for Nintendo to pass on the torch.
  16. I would play CoD4 till my hands bled if it wasn't for two things. One is the fact that I can only do one thing: kill people. I can't make up mini games, play co-op online, mess around with friends, I can't really do much. It's just kill, kill, kill. This is good and all, if it weren't for the second thing. I find the atmosphere of CoD4 waaay to serious. I think this is because it's just kill, kill, prestige, kill, get the golden guns, kill some more. Everything is based on beating your opponent, there is no real opportunity to just relax with your friends and have some pure fun. Sure, it is a great game, but the feeling I get from it isn't right for me. I would say that Halo is better in this regard, that it fits my playing style, but that isn't the case. I'd say they are even. One has the feeling right most of the time, the other has the core gameplay. The only reason I play Halo more (Much, much more actually) is because of that feeling. If my personality changed so that I was fine with just killing, or that I loved the seriousness of the game, just like I love the casual, social feeling I get from Halo, I would not be able to stop playing CoD4. Simple as that. The game deserves it's Game of the Year award.
  17. Depends. Im only buying 2 games at launch. Fable 2 and Gears 2 .. Waiting afterwards for things like Far cry 2 and Banjo kazooie Yes, but luckily for me, I don't really spend money all that much, so I have more then enough to buy pretty much every major release this fall/holiday. Fallout 3, Banjo:N&B, Gears 2, Fable 2, all are options for me from launch. It's more of an am-I-motivated-enough-to-get-it-right-away kind of thing.
  18. There are exactly... 2 Matchmade maps in Halo 3 that have a Sword in them. They are The Pit and Construct. The Pit is the only map that has what you described, a corridor with two entrances. However, The Pit also has Invisibility. They could have just as easily walked up behind you and gotten you with the Sword. Also, I can tell that you don't play Halo 3, so I'd assume you do not use your radar at all. What this means is that you were killed because the other player was better equipped, with a power-up, a power weapon, and more experience with the game. This is not cheating, this is a fair game. If you say Halo 3 has cheaters, don't be surprised with what you get from Gears. The last time I played it, about a year ago before my disc was scratched, cheating was all too easy. There's this thing called crabwalking. Basically, you are crouched as if taking cover, but you are running, and can change direction almost instantly. Even worse, you are able to shoot. This is cheating. It is unfortunate that you're first Halo experience was an unpleasant one. I personally love the game. Each to his own I guess.
  19. That method is complete b.s. It says that the toothpaste is something for the laser to reflect off of? That's actually what the shiny part behind the plastic is for. The data, I think is either stored in a separate layer of the plastic, closer to the reflective backing, or on the reflective backing. "Letting the toothpaste dry" will only make the damage worse by not letting any light pass through the scratch. Also, since toothpaste is a minor abrasive, the scratch might just become bigger and deeper. What you need to do is use a real abrasive to take away a thing layer of the bottom (The plastic/glass), so that you essentially get rid of the scratch. Unless you've used this method and it works. I have no experience for repairing scratched discs, I'm going by what I see as logical. Dried toothpaste, as far as I know, is not transparent. Also, if this is a 360 disc, try the Xbox 360 Disc Replacement Program
  20. I think it's obvious this is due to the Update a few days back.
  21. So is this Homebrew and thus free, or is it being published? I remember one of the comments in the videos saying "Now I just need to find a publisher". That game looks excellent, and it is really hard to believe that a single person made it.
  22. I think that kcd means to not to change with the font. If I am correct, this makes it match with the forum theme that each user is using. For example, I'm using TIFblack, or whatever it's called.

You aren't mature if you need to tell people you are. Just like you aren't cool if you need to do the same.
  24. Really, I'm not much of a gamer, so I'd have to say that Bungie is my favourite company. Not just because of Halo 3, but they have a real sense of humour, and are constantly changing and adding to Halo 3. I don't mean dramatic changes, so far the most dramatic I'd say has been a fix to make melee more consistent, but those small ones that regularly smooth out the bugs pretty fast. Also, because of forge and the way maps are set up, they can put community content in Match Making, along with tweak stuff like spawns very quickly. They also proved that they can create massive back stories.

Well, UK got screwed over there.
