What I think this crash of mini-rares reveals is a huge oversupply of them. They were originally perceived as quite rare, whereas in fact they probably aren't too rare. Hence the market correction and huge drops. Still, I think once they reach below 10M they are becoming undervalued. I will personally invest in Santas when(if) they reach 10M.

Do you know what that would do to inflation? It would add at least 76.5K new coins into the game per person (900 maples), and since there are about 1M members and assuming 100K MTK users (which is conservative estimate) that means 76.5M new coins per day. Its possible but not very likely.

Scarcity and low supply are two different things. Something can be rare but undesired (example: bronze spear with karam poison). I wouldn't buy the Easter unless that 5M is extra that you want to spare. And there are definitely other good investment opportunities.

Less currency means people have less money (less demand) to spend on stuff, meaning sellers will have to discount prices in order to sell their items. More currency = less purchasing power, correct. This supports prices going down for deflation, since each dollar has more purchasing power, meaning you can buy things for less dollars.

Many of the alternatives to yew longs are actually yield more gp. Inflation is also possible. I personally have added probably 30M new coins into the game through my alch item, and I still have 8 levels to go til my goal.

The fact that you're untouchable has more to do with your stats than your equipment. You could easily do the same wearing Karil. Besides, you can't say you're invincible to magic if you're comparing to bursters. By "save" I mean not being frozen at all. Even if one barrage slips by your defense, if you've got 20 people chasing you, it'll be hard to survive without using a massive amount of food. In other words, I don't care about the magic damage that barrage causes, rather the freeze. +16 magic def is the difference between black d'hide body and Karil body. :-k. Try wearing the two and comparing.

Heck, with the 40M you're paying, even using diamond(e) 100% of the time seems reasonable. That's a rather bizarre counterargument... ranger boots and archer rings can be used *with* the Armadyl armor. That's the entire point. Thanks for the other replies too! I'm talking for the people with limited cash and want to purchase the most optimal items given their shortage of money (and many players are in this predicament) Armadyl's value has gone down tremendously, and will continue to go down since (in my eyes) it is overvalued). Ah, see, I virtually never waste money on training, so it makes it easier to afford good gear. :D Yeah, I found out another way to get alching for free, and plus I'll be dueling more (means more time to alch), so I dropped that 30M method and bought an SGS. So far I am mildly impressed :D Why would you use magic attacks wearing melee armor? It's not intended for that purpose. Say, barraging in CW, when 10 meleers are on you? +75 Slash is huge :P [ Duels are far too much dependent on luck, like all combat. In an armor-on duel it is very hard to get a consistent hit with the ZGS and so the spec is wasted. In a food-off, potions-off duel the SGS is fantastic. You obviously haven't been muted before. It is one of the most annoying things that can happen to you. Not all mutes have broken rules; some get muted unfairly.

Guys, guys. Our friendly Jagex has considered alternative alch items... but it turns out many of them can only be purchased 100 at a time. Does this mean the death of alching?

Yeah true. I really need to do something with that pile of coins sitting in the bank... #-o Currently I'm blowing 30M on 94 Magic Yeah I definitely agree! I love my DFS - I have said this before and I will say it again: it is much more than just a shield. But at the same time, I don't consider it perfect. I always cringe when I use magic attacks while equipping the DFS; I hate the -10 magic bonus. I'll just go ahead and trust you on this, but not without mentioning my frustration at losing to many a lower-leveled Veracer in duels... For situations in which all 3 styles are enabled, I prefer Brassard due to its smaller slash penalty (-25 compared to Torag) and magic bonus (+24 compared to Torag). (The effectiveness of Brassard while maging, though, is questionable; it rarely hits through pray and Karil). I haven't tested SGS, true, but its effectiveness is limited to melee duels and monster hunting. It's a very powerful weapon, but I would hesitate to call it the best weapon. As for its healing capabilities: It will reasonably heal 360 HP an hour and 180 Prayer an hour, assuming your average hit is 30. (30 * 2 * 60 / 5 = 720 damage an hour) This is equal to 18 sharks and 2 full-dose prayer potions, or approximately 25K worth in items. Very little for an item you are paying your special bar and an additional 40M on. (It will take 1600 hours of combat to make up for it) I would rather spend the time banking (assuming that I can) With that said, I am actually considering buying one, because, yes -- my main problem with it is the cost, and for me that is no problem. Hmm. Spec+hally trick is quite useful for duels, perhaps even more useful than ~30 HP every 5 minutes. I win consistently with the spec+hally trick, given the special is pulled off. I have beaten a lvl 126 with SGS, and lvl 125 with AGS using farcasting melee (they didn't know how to catch me as I attacked) -- don't look down on it. :-w I'll give you that one, but remember - the difference between it and Karil is negligible, and for an additional 40M. Plus the legs just look plain disgusting.

This guide wasn't aimed for GS'es in general. I'm assuming the reader already has experience with GodSwords or is at least knowledgeable about them. Pictures are nearly useless in this case, since the only thing requiring pictures are the tactics. But those are better off with a video, and no way am I embedding a vid into this guide.

Don't alch the leather, I think banking and selling to crafters is more profitable. If I remember correctly the leather has low alch value. I would stick to addy or mith, it's really up to you and barely makes a difference. Also don't forget to buy range pots.

Bajezus get a GS and try it out with Prayer and Pots. I've 2 hit the brothers many a time.
