  1. ^Again, it's not an issue of efficiency, it's an issue of incorrectly defined terms. If the blog had been titled correctly as roleplaying, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Emergent gameplay is not what this is.
  2. That's called roleplaying, or in the case you described, using content exactly how it's designed (the games room is rarely used, but it is designed for a specific purpose, and you're using it for that purpose). Emergent gameplay specifically refers to using content in ways that it was not intended, usually in order to gain some advantage. What Jagex described in their blog is almost exclusively roleplaying, which is screwing around playing pretend in order to have fun. Not that I have a problem with roleplaying, but I don't find it fun in the least, and I don't appreciate Jagex mixing it up with something that the game really could use more of.
  3. No. It's not a shame that players put these grouping areas to waste, it's a shame that JAGEX put them to waste by making them in a way that doesn't work for how players actually want to use the content. If the grouping rooms were in common use, you'd jump in and find yourself with a bunch of noobs who have no idea what they're doing and all want to do the dungeon a different way. Forming teams on the surface allows you to be sure that everyone added has the proper combat level, dungeoneering level, equipment (shadow silk hood), and goal (rush vs. clear). We CAN'T use the grouping rooms because they're far too simplistically designed to be of ANY use.
  4. This is stupid. If they know you've botted, it needs to be an instant, permanent ban. Crap like this means there's no deterrent- if I bot to 99 rc and don't get caught, I get 99 rc. If I do get caught, no big deal, nothing gained nothing lost. I'm sick of Jagex playing around with botters and then being like "durrrr why are there so many bots everywhere? We gave them all 3 day bans and they keep coming back!"
  5. Yeah, this is more like time wasting roleplaying... Emergent gameplay is something that Jagex has shown themselves to be vehemently against. "Oh you alch your arrows to make an altar? NERF!" "Oh you sell flatpacks with fremmy boots 3 and make a profit? NERF AND BUG ABUSE ACCUSATIONS!" Jagex HATES people using content in ways they didn't specifically have in mind if it gives any sort of advantage. To read a dev blog about what they think emergent gameplay means is hilarious and depressing at the same time.
  6. I'm also curious why this needed to be asked. 15% damage bonus is an extremely useful boost.
  7. You can also mine them between hitting the next one, effectively wasting no time at all if you click properly.
  8. If switching browsers doesn't do it, I'd find Jagex's folder on your computer (search for it, I use Linux so I'm not sure where Windows puts it) and delete it so you can download everything fresh.
  9. You get the required dungeoneering level... lol
  10. Yeah, void with deflector/acp is great. Even normal void with a DFS for tanking monsters you can't safespot is significantly better DPS than full Arma and maxed ranged bonus (I checked when I was slaying to 99 ranged pre- focus sight).
  11. I am almost sure that you don't get wc exp for chopping fruit trees. I think I'd have noticed it on my way to 99 farming, since I usually have my xp tab thing open. I could have missed it, but I don't think I did.
  12. Lol, good deal.
  13. I must admit to never trying alching the bars, since my magic level was 99 when LRC came out and it seems like such a waste. However, from my experience superheating, I find that my inventory usually fills quickly enough that I wouldn't have time to alch too many of the bars. You could probably get a few in though if you want the magic exp and don't mind wasting the extra natures, and it would save a bit of time. And yeah, dropping the ores = dropping the bars, the superheating is just a means to get some sweet cheap smithing exp out of the deal. Edit: and here's the part where I finally notice your stats sitting there under the spoiler tag and feel like an idiot. You're 99 smithing, so I'm GUESSING the smithing exp doesn't interest you? Lol.
  14. Lava titan is the best whether your banking or not- it makes mining a LOT faster. As far as exp per hour, it's a whole lot more efficient to superheat while you mine and then mousekeys drop the bars. If you don't know how to use mousekeys and don't want to learn, banking is probably a little faster unless you're at one of the more remote rocks. This method actually costs a bit from the natures, but the smithing exp would probably be more expensive elsewhere, and it wastes no time compared to just powermining, making it extremely efficient.
  15. I just tried out sapphire glacialis again, still not impressed. Only getting around 80k hunter exp/hour with as little time between catches as possible. The agility exp is a nice bonus, and it's a little less attention intensive, but it's not comparable to power falconry with bonecrusher in terms of hunter exp/hour. You'd have to be very, very lucky to get 110k exp/hour here at my level. I average 5 or 6 fails per butterfly. I'll try out snowy knights when I get to them.
  16. I'd go with sw cape. Again, accuracy against rex is just not a concern; if you have arc stream, SoL, and barrows gloves I'd think anything else would be overkill. Edit: fire surge ftw, or slayer dart if you want to go the cheap way. Barrage is a big waste of cash. Arc stream necklace is basically a requirement for maging, period. 15% damage bonus and 15 mage attack is HUGE.
  17. Your accuracy is so great against rex with so little mage attack that arcane would be complete overkill. The spectral on the other hand will cut down on damage quite a bit. I'd definitely go for the spec.
  18. 110k/hr is attainable with kyatt clothing/arctic bear, from my own personal experience catching them. I think agility level affects catching rates as well, not 100% positive. The nice thing about failing to catch butterflies, unlike other training methods, is you don't have to reclick every time you do. Thanks, I'll have to give them a closer look. I didn't really test very hard last time, just discovered that my character apparently sucks at catching them and left.
  19. Is it really? At what hunter level though? Last time I tried it I was thoroughly unimpressed because I CONSTANTLY failed to catch the damn things.
  20. I'm getting a little over 90k exp/hour with mousekeys and bonecrusher at 87 hunter, which seems pretty damn good to me. What would you recommend instead?
  21. For TDs I'm going to lean toward extremes first, because curses aren't THAT helpful there. You can eagle eye on normal prayers, which is something you lose the ability to do on curses. Meanwhile, the extremes are just all around fantastic at improving damage. Obviously for PvP herblore doesn't matter at all, so prayer. Corp is a moot point because you won't be getting into the high req teams until you have turm AND ovls. My suggestion is first to get high enough herb for up to extreme ranged, then get turmoil, then get overloads. Overloads tend to be less generally useful than extremes and turmoil, but I'd place extremes as slightly more helpful than turmoil.
  22. Bonecrusher because you can use it to halve the amount of inventory clogging that happens training hunter at falconry, making it quite a good way to train hunter. The combat uses for both are so small as to be non-existent.
  23. Falconry after 69 with a bonecrusher and mousekeys is extremely fast exp.
  24. Even there I think it would be a waste, unless you REALLY want that extra sapphire rather than a strength bonus.
  25. Here is a calculator that compares profit per patch based on up to date market prices: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Farming_herbs
