  1. Aye! Judging by the (lack of) maturity of the community, you'd get far more irrelevant reports in, made by people who are angry because they were pk'ed or something like that. Actually needing to type out the name of the offending player requires a certain effort and a certain level of alphabetism, which helps counter some of the abuse. So, no support.
  2. I really like the idea. I've always loved thieving, but with the release of PP I lost all interest. We could also do with more non-tradeable outfits that look great and cost some effort to get (~naval) and that actually fit the capes. Love the "stealing back" idea and going out to steal for "the boss" as well. RS needs this kind of gloomier places with backstabbing scum. Less Disney, because we have to face it: our characters aren't heroes but tough bullies! I also like how the shortcuts make sure the place will keep on being used even after everybody got the outfits. Very well thought out. You have my full support.
  3. But isn't that like life usually is? In smaller scale ofcourse. I've discovered that I'm a bit of an optimist in spite of my cynical moments. So no, I don't believe that that is life. Because you have a future, or believe you have a future, and you give sense to your life, by having goals, choosing a job you want to go for, or a partner, or children, or sports, whatever. If you only have one more week before winding up in a wooden box, all planning and looking to the future is gone. If you still have a year, you can still accomplish things. But in one week? You have to make choices at a time when the choice has already been made for you. I think I'd fall into complete inertia. Actually, I'm pretty sure I would. Therefore: I'd rather not know...
  4. Okay, I'll be the unimaginative boring one once again and go for plain reality. I'd spend my time wishing they hadn't told me it was my final week. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy anything. Ultimately, you're just waiting and nothing you do makes any sense anymore. So I'd just arrange my finances, send out goodbye messages, clean up stuff, go and choose a coffin so my mother wouldn't have to do all that stuff. I'd also shy away from the people I love, because I wouldn't have the heart to tell them. Seeing them, keeping them in the unknown and just thinking goodbye, would really mean a complete breakdown. And they give you such massive headaches.
  5. Hitler was an environment activist, so I wouldn't be too sure he'd be keen on the fall-out consequences. I believe nobody should have nuclear weapons, even as a so-called fail-safe. No country in this world ought to be or feel like it should be the policing nation. The use of nuclear bombs against Japan was a disgrace. By now, there is a consensus amongst many researchers of political history that the bombings were far from necessary and more a display/try-out of newly acquired weapons than anything else.
  6. Whaa. Can't be there, due to repetitions. Life is getting in the way of Runescape, as it should :D. Loving your stats, though, as always!
  7. The General - My latest view in a while, due to a busy life and a slight Blake's 7 addiction. I've seen this silent movie with live piano music, which was a very nice experience. Buster Keaton shines! Incredible how a film so dated (1927) can still be so very funny!
  8. 1958/23=85,1 Gosh, I'm high up in that list . Edit: should've checked. Thread is quite old... :shame:
  9. Can't say I'm too surprised. I always wondered about Dumbledore's taste in fashion. In the films it's not so obvious, but in the books he's the equivalent of the gay fashion lover dressed in velvets in gaudy colours :D. It does give some more depth to the whole affair with Grindelwald. The thing about "I wanted my book to be politically correct so I made Dumbledore gay" is a bit silly though. If that had been the case, she should have displayed it just a little bit more in the books. Merely implying homosexuality by the man's fashion sense is not bridging the gap for homosexuals, methinks.
  10. People choose according to: - difficulty: easy capes are naturally popular - standing: non-buyable capes are highly respected - monetary gain: moneymaking skills such as hunter are popular as well - pleasure: the skills they like doing - achievement: the harder the skill, the greater the sense of achievement I have 99 in fletching, but I don't consider it a 99 really. I never even bought the cape. My next 99 will be HP in a few weeks. Strength, attack, defense and ranged should follow not too long after. I hope that by that time I'll be close enough to 99 slayer to persist a bit longer and get that penultimate cape. I'm halfway there, still about a year to go though. Once I have Slayer, I'll never wear another cape again.

    China

Ooooohhhh, well that makes everything okay then... Glad to see you are able to see the bigger picture. Pity I'm on another continent, otherwise I'd be able to laugh my head off when I see America trying to live all by itself while the rest of the world has perished. Globalism, whether we like it or not, is of this day and age. It brings many challenges, but many opportunities also. China scares me, thoroughly Western and individual-minded girl that I am. The culture, the political system, the way of living... It's completely foreign to me. But I am curious to see how things will develop.
  12. Mmyeah, seems to me you're being slightly picky. No kalphites (fast + great xp), no harpie bugs (ultra fast), no cave horrors, no metal dragons,... What monsters do you like? Seems to me you're not fully appreciating the skill and just want access to abyssal whips :shame:.
  13. Black Demons hit hard, you cannot tell me you rarely need to eat on a task of 180+ of them. I see people 120cb+ using prayer/Guthans there. Same with Kalphites and others. For Black Demons I use prayer (83 herblore, 90 farming and free seeds through slayer got me more than 2k prayer pots banked - all freebee) and a cannon. For Kalphites I also use a cannon, which is helluvalot faster than using Guthans. Nechryaels are great for range experience. Look I'm, really not saying Guthan's is useless, especially if your defense is low, it's a great solution. It's just that I've managed perfectly without so far. I dislike the repairs, I dislike the place it takes in my inventory, I dislike changing armour every so often and I dislike waiting for its random healing skills. The only task where I need to bank for food is Abyssal demons. Usually just the once/task. Pretty fast with ectophial -> quick stop at farming patch -> bank -> tower. Not worth the Guthan's imo. Anyway, Xeones, your plan sounds okay. Don't be afraid to just try out some stuff and settle for whatever method suits you best.
  14. Stupidest post of the day. Guthans is worth it. When I used it for slayer I always took 5 pieces of food though. Way to go in insulting someone who thinks out of the box-of-I-need-Guthan's-to-be-cool. Pah. I'm 10k xp away from 92 slayer, never owned a set of Guthan's. If you use your designated slayer master, you rarely need to bank for food refills. Guthan's is great for camping, but slayer has small tasks often easily done in one go. I'm not saying you should not use Guthan's, but I find it's quite obsolete. For slayer, anyway.
  15. Heh, yeah, I thought "good one, Rowling" when I read that :D. I've been known to use the expression "the emotional range of a teaspoon" ever since.
  16. Kind of everything at the same time... Tired, didn't get enough sleep last night thanks to noisy drunk students in the street. Pissed off with some of the incompetents that surround me. Nervous for my German course this evening. Loving my life. Frustrated because I'm working for the government of a country currently without government. Busy, looking for some rest and peace. Exhiliarated by every moment I get on my own. Slightly worried by my passionate outbursts of both enthusiasm and bit-chy-ness.
  17. I'm very curious about this one, I hope to find some time in the next couple of weeks to go and see it. Busy life, only saw Charade - nice watch, but Hepburn's (over)acting is annoying and Grant is well past his expiration date. He just seems so bad at ease in the 60's. I really liked the script, though, so it was quite enjoyable.
  18. Sumpta is short for the name Assumpta, also Assunta. It's an Italian name derived from the Assumption (of the Blessed Virgin, for the non-catholics on this board :D). I like the way the name sounds (~assumption, ~sumptuous) and it's also the name of my once favourite character in an Irish-British series I loved when I was 16 (Ballykissangel). At that time I got to know the Internet and created the nickname, that stuck to me ever since. The 13 was given to me by someone who created my first e-mailadres for me, because he deemed it was fitting with my fascination for vampires. When I subscribed on RS, it was really just to see if the game that "my" kids in the computer centre played all the time was suitable for them. Since "Sumpta" was taken, I quickly added the "13", never dreaming that two years later, I'd still be playing the game and hating the number. "Sumpta" isn't even in the high-scores :(.
  19. 1) I hate how people go on arguing if global warming is "true" or not. I'll leave that to the experts, who don't think in terms of black and white and are able to see the many sides to this issue. 2) Treating the earth with some respect should not be something up for discussion. Completely aside from global warming or not. 3) And no, I'm not a hippie. But once in a while, take off your shoes, walk through grass or in a wood instead of on concrete floors. It's divine.
  20. My first post was a request for a partner for Legends or Heroes quest on the designated thread. Afterwards I lurked for a few months on the help and advice. Learned heaps about the game there. Then started posting there to share my advice as I became a better player. Slowly moved on to the OT afterwards :D.
  21. European. Not kidding, exchange students from North-America comment that me and my friends dress "so European". I have no idea what they're getting at, but since this forum's filled with North-Americans, maybe you do :D.
  22. I think I'd just watch myself a bit (and laugh) and not say anything. If I really have to say something, it would be along the lines of "You'll be fine. Don't worry." Reb's right. Plus, we are "made" by both the good and the bad things that happen to us. Our hearts will get broken on time or another, we will study less than we ought to... And that's just fine.

    Long hair

Mmyea, gotta be careful with brushing your hair often. It's true you should try to get the 'fat' evenly over all your hair though. But then again, the ends tend to break more if you brush too often. Brushes with metal are highly unadvisable, it's best to use a brush made with animal's hair... It's true you shouldn't wash your hair too often and it's better to brush it before washing it than after. When your hair is wet, it's very easy to damage it. Don't use too hot water for washing your hair or rinse it with cold water after your shower. Also, don't use too much shampoo. Take just a bit and make it foamy with a bit of water in your hands, then carefully wash your hair (= do not rub it in like a madman). Another tip for long hair folks: moisturize! Use conditioners and spray water ("mist") on your hair (esp. the ends) every morning and evening. Especially people with curly hair get split and dry ends very easily. If your hair is quite long, best not sleep with it loose. Make a ponytail, or a braid. Best to use a band without a metal clipping, because the metal damages your hair. Have it cut regularly, if just a little bit, to get rid of split ends. Buuuut then again, all this advice may be a bit over the top for men :D. Never thought I'd be sharing my hair-secrets on Tip.It forum...
  24. Evil is like perfection: it doesn't exist. Good doesn't exist either. People -everybody really- can do (ethically and socially accepted) good things and (ethically and socially unaccepted) bad things. They can do both at the same time, even by the very same act. So the question would be: do people do bad things because they are programmed that way or by free choice... I would say neither and both at the same time. Our behaviour and mind are influenced by so many things: genetics, education, environment in which you grow up etc. We keep evolving in reaction to our surroundings. And even the people who say they acted out of their own free will (e.g. psychopaths) are slave to their psychological aberrations (if I may use that word, sorry, Goddess ) I think that -given the "right" conditions- even the nicest of people can do horrible things.
  25. Aww, that's cute. Typical that they don't want to spend too much money on a convict, though. Should a last meal exist in Belgium or France, I'm sure they'd hire a top chef just for that... How2PK, I'd love to invite you, but I will not take responsibility for possible food poisoning. I may be great at eating tasty food, cooking it is quite another matter :D.
