Lately, I've been getting a few hyt's, even though I'm not really involved in the part of the Tip.It community that actually plays Runescape. It freaked me out a little bit, because I never recognised the name of the guy/gal giving me a hyt. There are many lurkers here, kinda makes me feel I ought to take better care what I say :D.

They really should have played on middle Sunday. Poor Nadal, 4 days to complete one match. And Justine went past Serena. Hurray!!! Even though Serena is of course blaming her loss on injury... when will she have the decency to acknowledge Henin's genius . Aaaanyway, back on topic. We've had nothing but rain the last few weeks here. I go to work by bike, I've been wet through at least once a day. Bleh. Our national holiday is often rained out too, but that doesn't really stop anybody from celebrating :D.

I must say, I do respect Bill Gates. He invests in charity with his own personal fortune, and on top of that, he has made sure that the Microsoft company has a strong charity plan as well. I work for a social non profit organisation. Microsoft was one of the first to believe in our project and to sustain it. It was a great experience working with them, because even though there's obviously marketing involved, it's not the core reason for the charity. I really hope the company will continue their work in several area's of charity.

I don't get what all the fuss is about. Why so keen on being an adult? It's not that much fun :?. People don't go from immature to mature in one day either. It's perfectly possible to be mature on one level and immature on another. Many people manage to never fully mature, even when they're 60. I think they might be right too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The End (one can hope) - Big no no. I really liked the first one, the second one was enjoyable with some hilarious parts, but I was really bored this time. The humour was childish at best and slightly crude at its worst. The story, well, let's not even go there. A disappointment. High Society - This one had been ranked high on my should-have-seen-this-long-ago list. I can't believe I missed out on the fact that it's based on the same play as The Philadelphia Story. I'm aware that High Society is a classic, but I don't get where it gets that status from. I'm a big fan of Grace Kelly, but she could hardly convince me as Tracy Lord. Her gestures are staged and fake, she doesn't look at ease in the part at all. The music, even with the great Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby (I didn't feel any spark in either man's acting either), didn't strike me as exceptional, even though the songs are called classics apparently. I any case, the songs didn't feel like they belonged in the script nor in the movie itself. Obviously, I'm comparing with The Philadelphia Story, which I fell in love with on first sight. Maybe I would have felt different if I had seen High Society first. But I doubt it.

Stupid rain. It's July for the love of...

I checked the counter on my phone, it's been keeping a record since I bought it, a little less than 2 years ago. The number: 462, that's still an average of 20+ per month. How in the world can you send 4k in a month? That's more than 100 a day .

petrol, or gasoline, doesn't have any smell or odor. The smell is added so that people can tell it is dangerous and in/flammable, and prevent accidents with it. But I know what you meant. :P Oooh that clarifies the mystery to me why in the movies, when they find a petroleum source, they dip their finger in it and taste the oil. I always went like "you fool, can't you just smell it, there's a huge gap in the ground with petrol gushing out of it several metres high!". Ahem. Yeah. First believe the others to be the idiots, next question yourself. In that order .

Nokia 3120, I actually had to look it up, because I had no idea. Sorry if this is a measuring and comparing our sizes kind of topic, but I can't say I care for a second what kind of phone I have :D. It rings, I can send text messages with it and the battery is still fine.

I couldn't. I think I have loved, yes, more than once, actually, but it's just different every time. Classical true love, I doubt if it exists. Fair enough. This I can follow and believe. It implies that there is not one love, or one way of loving. It's this realisation that I was talking about, this is one of the things that makes a person mature, I think... Knowing not to have all the answers. Don't push it. I have a good memory, I haven't forgiven you yet for insulting me :D.

Like you wouldn't believe. But only if you do it wrong. Moisturiser is key. Exactly. Rubbing in the moisturiser is part of the fun anyway! (*any excuse) Trim it first before you shave. If it's the first time, you can get away with a wet shave. However, I'd recommend investing in some electric trimmers - less chance of injury, quick to do and good results. Easy to use as well, in fact, I'm using mine right now! And this would definitely qualify as: Too. Bloody. Much. Information.

Whoa, dark bow, dragon arrows/darts, crossbow update, draconic visage,... and now dragon full helmet. We're finally getting high level updates. A whopping lot of them too, fancy that. Dragon pickaxe, dragon boots, they don't sound so far-fetched anymore do they?

Haha, Striker does it again. Single-handedly he takes on the hoards of angry OT'ers. Strangely enough, I'm on his side in this argument. I have severe reservations with the claims of all who so vehemently vow they know what love is. How come I don't hear anybody say: "Haven't the foggiest, but I hope I'll know when I die."

Not 100% sure, but if you naturalise to become a Frenchman, Brit, whatever, you should have the same rights. You get to vote and pay the same taxes, so you're also entitled to health care, social security, education... You could consider Belgium. We have a very tight social security net. The downside: high taxes obviously :D.

my grandmother is nearly dead. she died at 29 june ='(
Sumpta replied to jeroenrocks1's topic in Off-Topic
My grandmother died last year after a few years of Alzheimer's. It was awful to see this once strong, willful, difficult and admirable woman crumble into an empty shell. In the end, she didn't recognise anybody anymore. It was hard to lose her, when she died, but we were also relieved for her. And relieved for ourselves, because we could go back to honouring and remembering her as she was before she got the disease. I wish you a lot of strength. -
The people claiming that they know what love is, are most usually the ones who haven't any idea. The thing with the 13 year olds is that they still believe that it is possible to know everything. As an adult, you're hit in the face knowing that you cannot and never will. It's dealing with that uncertainty that makes someone mature. Love is one of those things that can never be known. It's powerful, but not flowery, it's not easy, don't mistake it with being in love. People who claim they love their girlfriend/boyfriend soooo much and are definitely going to stick together for ever and ever and ever, show that they haven't accepted yet that they cannot know everything... I highly distrust them.

It seems to come in cycles with me. For a while, I had more loops banked, but at the moment, I have more teeth halves. I suspect that in a while, I'll be getting a wave of loops again. I don't see the problem really. Over time, they always seem to balance out.

Exactly what I was going to say. Lack of predictability. They have so many (fearfully long) legs and I just can't figure out the logic behind the movement. I can't say if they'll move forward, sideways or backward, I can't predict which leg is going to move next and they're bloody fast as well. Shudder.

It just happens. People come and go in your life, it's just the way it is. For every "era" in your life (high school, university, first job,...) you have a set of friends. Only a few core people will be there for the whole ride. It's not a bad thing really, you'll make new friends as you move forward from era to era.

Well, the main question is if you feel bad about having no friends in the game or not? If you're just feeling like a weirdo, don't. There are many loners in RS. There are many possible reasons for playing RS. If you feel you want to make more friends, engage in Tip.It's activities, make world 99 your homeworld or join a clan. I like participating on these boards, but I don't like chatting in the game. For one, the chat interface is way too messy and second, I rarely have worthwhile conversations anyway. I have a busy life, a job where I meet people all the time, several hobbies to share with my friends,... I cherish those moments, but I find it nice to wind down in all quietness in RS late at night. I do meet people in RS, but I kinda like those contacts to be fleeting. PS: it's your detachedness from RS that makes arguments etc seem petty. It's not a bad thing, you know, it just means you aren't absorbed by the -let's face it- fake and constructed internal logic of the RS world. It's typical of RPG's to have this internal logic and the point would be to get the players to participate in it. But in my opinion, the ones who don't get fully immersed are the sane ones. So don't let people push you into making RS the most important thing. That kind of thing happens enough as it is in RS and other RPG's *cough* world of warcraft *cough*. You're doing well!

I've had a similar thing happening to me. A friend of mine made a website for my theatre project. The site turned out really well, so he blogged about it. I posted on his blog with "Helena", thanking him for the great work. Now, in real life, I have a nickname known to my friends and acquaintances only. Let's say it's Mia. Some time later, another person replied on the blog saying I never ever use this name on the Internet. Nor was there a picture of me to be found on either the blog or the website. The guy's IP tracked back to Spain. How did this dude know my name? And how could he know what I look like? My friend didn't know the guy either... Decidedly creepy.

Off Topic You should get those gloves you know, Duradel in one-click (ok,and a little bit of walking), a slayer cant ask for more... I knooooow, I just can't push myself to get round to it. I'll hate myself for it later on when I do get the gloves, but for now I'm using the excuse that I like to combine slayer with farming rounds (through fairy rings: task - farming round - task - farming round). A good excuse to stick with Chaeldar...

The top 3 words you HATE seeing online?
Sumpta replied to Extreme_Rush's topic in General Discussion
3) buy your whip 2) plz 1) K or worse Kk I especially hate "Kk" when they ask you for information about a quest or an item, you take the trouble of helping them and they just answer "Kk" and run off. What's up with that? These are people I'd kick in the rear in real life. -
I hear you. Little updates, bring them on, but no quests or new items for a while, please... I haven't even found the time to visit the Sorceress' Garden or BA, I still haven't done all the tasks in the Karamja Achievement Diary, I simply can't keep track.

Seeing how you shoot every idea that these fine people are offering you, I'm inclined to believe you don't really want help but prefer to wallow in self-pity. We've all been bored at some point (except those who suffer from ADHD I guess) and not in the mood to do anything at all. So I'd advise to just give in to that mood until it blows over. I'm sure you have a lot of interests, they'll come back to you. When I feel restless like that, I put on some sensible shoes and go for long walks outside.
