  1. My task list the last few days (Sumona) has been: aberrant spectres aberrant spectres banshees bloodveld greater demons bloodveld aberrant spectres banshees banshees bloodveld greater demons aberrant spectres With the very odd hellhound and spiritual mage in between. They're good tasks to get points, but come on! Out of 30 possible tasks, do I have to get the same four ones over and over and over again?

    Do You Run?

Oh my god! I'm gone for a few months and you go and get yourself pregnant and all! Congratulations!!! On topic: I only run when chased by something decidedly bigger than me and/or evil-looking. I do fitness, though. Well. I have the card and pay every month... Haven't been exercising as regularly as I should lately.
  3. My processor and RAM should do fine, not too sure about the graphics card. We'll see though. I won't even play high detail right now because it lags more, so a lot will depend on how well the graphical update works with my Internet connection. I prefer smooth gameplay over graphics, to be honest.
  4. That seems to be about as well-considered as King Midas' wish to turn everything he touched into gold. Telekineses sounds about right. Now there's a skill that would make my everyday life a lot more enjoyable.
  5. I'm not getting into the whole of this discussion -I remember seeing it passing here before- but I would like to give a small comment here as I am guilty of being another sucker for the sensitive jerk/Mr. Darcy-type. This may very well sound childish, but many women long to feel like the one and only, someone special. A nice guy will be nice to everybody, seemingly making no distinction for his girlfriend. But to have the love and cuddles of an arrogant jerk, means you're special in a way. You hold the privilege of his nice behaviour. Obviously, every girl should be aware that this is a way of thinking that one should be conscious of and really not take too far, but that's the gist of the attraction of a Mr. Darcy, a Heathcliff, and so on. On the bright side, many of the girls who swoon for the bad guy in books and films, soon learn to detest them in real life and do wind up with a nice guy, while the bad boys wander off all alone to repent their mistakes (well, no, but one can hope).
  6. I'm 26. That should lift the average up a bit. And no, I'm not going to calculate it. I'm old, the brain cells are dying off already, wouldn't want to waste them. Edit: ahem, apparently, they're already so dead that I forgot my own age... 26 instead of 27... #-o

    A kiss?

Hmm. Where I come from, the sordid Europe, it's quite usual to greet each other with 1, 2 or even 3 kisses on the cheek. Sometimes it's lips to cheek, sometimes cheek to cheek. In one friends circle, we even exchange kisses on the corner of each other's mouth. That way, you can both give a kiss, instead of being either the giving or the receiving party. Also, again depending on the circle, men kiss men (instead of giving a hand) as well. I don't know, with some people it's just a habit. With others, it isn't. I only hate it when my ex does it, because I feel he's lost his rights to touch me. He's either blissfully unaware of my distaste, or ignores it.
  8. The last time someone tried to insult me, it was by saying 'safing ftl' when I was ranging... bloodveld. That's right, people, I wasn't in pvp combat, I was training slayer. Just to say, some people are clueless. Apparently it's cool to diss rangers, and as with everything cool, most people don't even know why they think like that. They just copy.
  9. I hear you. Every few weeks/months all the slayer spots get a great deal of extra pressure. They added the visage to the metal dragons drops. Well, there went one of the few uncrowded areas left. They release the dark bow. Well, there went all the people powertraining to get to 90 slayer in a few weeks. They release summoning. Bam, Nechryaels and Abyssal Demons spots were ruined, among many others (Aberrant Spectres, Bloodveld,...). And now they released the slayer point system. They just keep on trying to popularise slayer (I'm guessing they have a 95 slayer monster in mind and need a certain amount of 95 slayers). It only works for a few weeks, but these updates are dreaded by every dedicated slayer. Suddenly the usual slayer code (not to fight for a spot, but to simply change worlds) is completely lost because a lot of impatient idiots think only of themselves. Slayer becomes a horror, but if you try to make this clear to the impatient idiots, you're told to suck it up or that you're a noob. Guh. One weekend of this nonsense got me thoroughly fed up with these juvenile egotists. Changing the respawn rate would be most welcome!
  10. I'm using the new slayer master to get to 99 slayer (because of the lovely new teleport, I have no karamja gauntlets). These are/will be my blocked tasks: - Black Demons. I know many people love them, but I detest them. Really, really detest them. - Gargoyles - Maybe terror dogs if Sumona keeps insisting on handing them out every other task - Maybe scarabites, haven't had them so far, so I might just be able to avoid them
  11. Combat Level: 132 Total Level: 2076 Highest Skill Level: 99 in 5 skills, 2 more on the way (98) Highest Combat Skill Level: 99 in all melee skills, 99 ranged on the way (98) When I Started: October 2005. Damn, I've been playing this game for a long time now. I've been a newb for as long as I can remember now.
  12. I'd love getting rid of other players in overcrowded areas (slayer spots, uggh) and not have to deal with the stupidity of the average player every day. I hardly interact with other players in RS anyway. But then again, no G.E., no multiplayer games like Castle Wars or Trouble Brewing, no fellow monkeys in Ape atoll Agility Arena,... RS would feel like a dead world after an atomic war. It'd be eerie.
  13. My favourite author is Louis Couperus, Dutch writer from the early 1900s. Pretty much anything he wrote is my favourite. Favourite series would have to be Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings (though I don't look on that one as a series, really). Right now, I'm reading "Carter Beats the Devil" by Glen David Gold. Good stuff.
  14. The biggest thing in my life at the moment would be that I'm looking to buy a house. Quite depressing, because I *really* want to do it on my own and that means I'm on a *really* tight budget. The amount of crap houses I've seen until now is not only sad, but also thoroughly demotivating. And counting down the days until I take a long holiday in Tuscany... A whole month of not worrying about loans and building projects! And to think that only a few years ago, I had 3 months worth of summer holiday. Oh well, 59 days to go. And very minor, Runescapewise... I'll be getting 99 slayer in a month, which is something I've looked forward to for a long time as well.
  15. Well, if there's still a spot left for me, I'd like to be added too. RS name = Sumpta13. As for the shortage of places in the list, I would opt for a "500" best, as it's in RS. A good motivation for the people who aren't on it yet, to work on their skills. Only trouble is, which parameter are you going to use? Total skill points, total experience, combat level? I'd say total skill...
  16. Heh, hilarious. Sad thing is, lots of players are going to agree with you, without picking up on the sarcasm.
  17. This *really* depends. A guy has to have a really masculine face to pull off long hair. Guys that end up looking like a girl, ewww. And yes, there are plenty that do. Also, many men have curly hair, that at a certain length is oh so cute but at another length just becomes... well, ewww. Really, guys. Take any advice you can get from the women around you on the length of your hair.
  18. Well, isn't this one of those discussions where it's easier to preach than to practise. I eat meat. I love it. Mmm, barbeque... I'm a woman and a complete sucker for shoes. Most of them made of leather, aka animal skin. However, you wouldn't catch me dead in animal fur. I think it's disgusting and unethical. So where lies the difference? I associate animal fur with endangered species, which is why it seems so repulsive to me. Also, it depends on the conditions. Were I to live in Siberia, I might revise my opinion on fur clothing very quickly. I would have a real need for the warmth of a fur, just as I now have a real need for the iron in steak and the protection of my feet. However, if I were really consequential, I'd take food supplements and become a vegetarian and wear plastic shoes. Hello everybody btw. Long time...
  19. Aha, cool, I have the same kind of eyes, even though the pic's too dark to see that. They're grey, light blue, dark blue, green, depending on what I wear. But whoa, you really have doe-sized eyes. Beautiful!
  20. Aww, my first kiss. Quite a trial actually, it was an upside down kiss. You know, he was on the bed with his head on my lap, I was sitting on the bed, so, well, yeah, upside down kiss. His lower lip on my upper, my upper on his lower. Weird as a first kiss has to be without complications, an upside downer is really... a feat? Oh well, it started at about 2AM and lasted till well into the early morning :D. Good times, we were a couple for nearly 4 years.
  21. I've just been reading up on the (Dutch/Flemish) website of the Red Cross and it says that every batch of blood they take is checked for HIV, Hepatitis B/C and syphilis. They don't force the test on the donors, they just test all the blood that comes in (and should you have a disease, they obviously let you know). However, to be as safe as possible, before taking blood, they also do a preselection of the blood donors through a questionnaire, to get as risk-free batches as possible and to keep the amount of "tainted" blood they get and need to destroy to a minimum. Seems logical and fair, actually.
  22. Well, not to play IGoddessI to you, but don't let yourself be dragged in an endless game of yo-yo. You deserve happiness, you deserve respect. It seems the problems with you two have been going on for sooo long now. In your place, I'd really ask myself this: will things really ever change? And if they don't, can you live with that? Obviously, you both love each other a lot, but is it enough? Be honest with yourself now and come to good conclusions that can result in a clean new (re)start. If not, all the pain now will once again have been for nothing. Sorry if I'm preaching. I'm good at preaching, slightly worse at being wise in matters of my own heart.
  23. Sure, there are always regrets. But dwelling on them makes you miss out on life. And life has so much to offer that that would be really silly. Plus, it's plain boring narcissism, if you ask me. My biggest regret would be exactly that: thinking too much of the past and the what-could-have-beens. And worse, regretting the times when I manipulated myself into believing make beliefs. No worse treachery than self treachery.
  24. I only heard about this recently as well, and had a likewise initial reaction: "discrimination!". But, as it happens, you need to take into account a broader picture. This isn't about discrimination, it's about medicine. Your blood is not accepted in several instances. One of the obvious is if you engage in sexual activities with risks. Id est: unprotected sex, sex with several partners,... If you are a homosexual, your sexual activities are considered risk bearing. I'm not saying it's impossible to have unprotected sex as a homosexual, it's just that the risks are indeed higher. Especially some 10 to 20 years ago. It seems logical to me that no risks should be taken with blood. As such, I do understand the law... even though it seems unfair at first sight. By the way, this isn't just an American law. It works like that in Belgium as well. And this is actually one of the few countries where gay people can be lawfully wed.
  25. Omg I'm away for a few weeks and the OT gets flooded. Unbelievable! Well, this one's been taken few years ago. As you can see, I'm not a fan of the camera and usually gaze into the lens very warily. Edit: whoaaaaaa, huuuuuge. Yuck! Sorry! I might resize it later today.
