  1. Yep, to get gold gaunts just talk to the dude in the al kharid mines. He charges 25k i think. you can get chaos gaunts from the guy on the top floor of varrock pub and switch back to cook with the guy near catherby bank.
  2. Lol i agree, they're just a bit of fun. if you don't use em, drop em. I'd love to see TET do another firemaking event with the new high detail on a members world. Would be a nice excuse to use up the 3k or so i have in bank.
  3. Yeah i read about this bug from meili's website. Here's the article: http://www.anzwers.org/free/jagex/knives.html quite a few pics of it too.
  4. As the others have said, merchanting doesnt require in game skills, just some startup cash and knowledge of the economy. Also, combat is a much smaller part of F2P than it is members. There's no real use for high combat there.. while members has bosses, barrows, fight pits, duel tourneys etc etc where high combat is an advantage, f2p has erm.. cockroaches and a greater demon. The pvp elements of f2p dont rely on having high combat eitehr.. fog, duel arena and bh put you on a relatively level playing field with people of the same ability no matter what your combat stats.
  5. Very rare drop, i've had them once at metals. They're in the similar rareness to 67 nats, dragonstone and 45(?) rune arrow drop. It's a group of drops quite a few higher levelled monsters have. The drop group seems a bit more common at abyssals and dark beasts but there's a few monsters that can drop them.
  6. Sound advice. If you're still laggin a lot this method should sort it.
  7. The price has gone up way under inflation. Even after this price rise, they're still making less per head than they were when they first introduced members. It's a fair raise to be honest, and they chose a good time to implement it. Doubt it would have gone down so well in Dec/Jan :P
  8. It's just a 1 time download. Once it's loaded the textures etc once they're cached and don't need to be loaded again so data sent and recieved is minimal.
  9. Because someone that plays AoC would be impressed by the new runescape graphics
  10. I believe it's considered second party if it is put into the game by Jagex, but another company developed it. Beat me to it ^ yes this is second party software. They liscenced it to Jagex to use in their software. 3rd party would be using software that has nothing to do with, and is therefore unapproved, by Jagex. First party is stuff exclusively designed and made by Jagex.
  11. No matter how good the update will be the official forum will be flooded with rants. To be honest, as long as it looks better than it does now and runs smoothly i'll be happy.
  12. Nice idea for a topic. I think the optimum pking setups are the things that have changed the most. i can remember a few classic setups: my favourite hybrib mb setup was ahrims top and bottom with whip, zammy book and warrior (not zerker) helm. That was back when the whip spec was good and no-one bothered with dds' and the helm of choice was warrior before the big obsession with strength bonus. Another classic look was splitbark top with mystic bottoms back when mystic top protected over whip. That was pretty much the staple gear for drags pking. Shortly after the tzhaar area came out but before untrades like defender and torso took over edge pking there was a period when a common look was full rune with obby set, or rune/fire cape/obby shield combo. The shield was rarely seen once defenders arrived. Since BH has been out a while now i guess this almost counts as a vintage setup: The classic rune pure outfit from late 06-07. Zerker helm, fighter torso, rune defender, rune legs, str ammy, climbers, defender, whip, dds in inventory. This was the staple edge fighting gear for quite a while.
  13. Just happened to me: luckily wasn't poisoned.
  14. If you leave your router on while you're away :P
  15. Looks nice, and a needed upgrade. Does this mean tip.it will update the 'rune' bit of its logo now?
  16. Wrong. You can use sumona from 85cb 35(?) slayer. It's just a mistake in the knowledge base.
  17. Yeah it's funny. 90% of the graffiti isn't visible from 66% or further zoom, and anyone not from tipit that looks at the logo isn't going to zoom in further than that anyway. I always save my ink for stuff that's visible from 33% zoom.
  18. just reskinned mine. I'll probably change the background but it works for now. [hide=desktop][/hide]
  19. I'm impressed if you can mine 1k ess and craft 1k nats in an hour. it usually take 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do that.
  20. Generally i'd be inclined to agree with you on stuff like this. But i actually think he has a point on this one. I havn't had one torn page since the top hat update, and that's roughly 95-99 slayers worth of clues. Also none of my friends have had one since and i've seen several threads on RSOF talking about the rarity of pages.. i havn't once seen anyone post that they'd gotten a page from a clue. This coupled with the massive price increase leads me to believe that they've either been stopped as a reward (likely a glitch) or the chances of recieving them has been drastically reduced. If you can provide a dateable screeny of one as a reward then i'll believe that they're still obtainable, but until then i'll be sure something's up with them. to add: this isn't a conclusion i've just come up with. I've been watching the market ever since i noticed a rise in price as i had a few page sets saved in my bank. I've been asking around and searching rsof for related thread for a couple months now to form my opinion.
  21. They certainly will. They have the same attack speed as commander zils melee attack at sara gwd and can hit up to 11 each time. multiply that by 7-9 and you can be insta-koed if you're not careful. Also in my experience, using a familiar really messes up the luring. They don't fall in and safespot properly
