  1. Well I'm not sure on the actual effectiveness of it, but wearing a ring of wealth may help. I wore it from bronze to my first rune and it was maybe 1500 tokens. Later on, I went on another run to just use up the tokens I had left, but this time forgot to wear the ring. Withing 50 tokens, I got my second rune def. As for the last 700 tokens, I got 2 more.
  2. You could also experiment with pray flashing. If you're hitting with a slower weapon, then you may be able to employ this wonderful technique and increase the time your points last two fold.
  3. Superheating. I don't see why people always forget superheating in favour of high alching when XP rates are comparable for magic and ok for raising smithing.
  4. If you've got at least 50 smithing, you could superheat mith bars. With the raised costs of mith bars due to SC, you'll probably be making a bit of a profit while you superheat. The animation is also quite a bit faster than high alching although you have to bank a lot. But you do get some delicious smithing XP while you do it. Who doesn't love some smithing xp?
  5. The mage kit is probably the only decent version of SC. But otherwise, helmets would be your best choice. While you might like to wear your helm of neit, you lose less def from wearing a SC helmet vs a helm of neit rather than an SC plate, which is about a rune plate, vs say Verac's brassard.
  6. Well if you found a good 50/50 group, you'll be guaranteed at least 600-700 a game. The tablets supercharge your actual rcing runs and you get a tasty bit of xp during the game itself as all runes crafted give x2 xp.
  7. If you are really afraid of revenants but are still bent on going to the drags, you could do wolf whistle if you haven't already and then bring along a spirit wolf and a few howl scrolls.
  8. Well I'm guessing after trying all that your best option would just be to simply use them up or give them to a friend as a gift and have them figure out what to do with them
  9. Anchor is better than the flail? How's the speed difference on the two and compared to other weapons? I also don't see why people favour the zamorak spear so much for crushing when the flail has quite a bit more crush and only 3 less strength. So how's the anchor in comparison with the flail?
  10. Hmm...I'm not wholly liking the fact that you have to repair barrows, but maybe when I get a house a workshop I'll be able to save a bit.
  11. I'm interested in getting a decent crushing weapon that has high-ish crush, good str bonus, and is relatively cheap (so not the zammy spear  ) I'm considering the obby mace + necklace combo, but I'm open to any other suggestion. I still have a few quests before I can do Hero's, so the d mace is out for now.
  12. Well are there any cooperative minigames you haven't tried? Games like SC when you're in a well-knit clan can be quite fun.
  13. Fine then. Switch the scim with a d long and you have a higher hitting, cheaper, albeit marginally slower alternative :

How much does it cost to recharge the tool or any of the armour pieces? Is it the full original cost?
  15. The quests aren't that hard and are worth doing for reasons other than simply the dragon scimitar.
  16. Low budget means I can't afford a whip yet. My slayer is at 30 right now.
  17. Oh what do you know, I thought it was 70 def for the body :XD: Nah, I really want those bones and hides. It's just too much in prayer and crafting xp to give up.
  18. I think that even a glory or even power amulet with a dragon scimitar and rune defender would be better or equal to than any of the obsidian combos, and it'd be cheaper too. You still get a monstrous 92 slash attack, roughly 30-40 more than the split sword or knife, and your strength bonus is still considerably higher. The main flaw in the logic is with the whole "people use fighter torsos and those have weak stab defence, therefore, use the split". It only becomes advantageous when the difference in stab defence and stab attack is greater than the difference in slash defence and slash attack. The fighter torso has a slash defence of 85 and a stab defence of 62. The rune def, d scim, power ammy combo gives a slash attack of 92, giving you a +7 advantage. The split sword, obby necklace, rune def combo gives a stab attack of 57 as shown in your guide. Comparing it against a fighter torso's stab defence, you have a deficit of 5. Perhaps you'll argue that by the same logic, the mace combo should then be better. The torso has a crush def of 62, the mace combo a crush attack of 70 (giving you a minuscule +1 advantage compared to the d scim combo's advantage). However, at what cost? The estimates given in the guide put the mace combo at about 310K. The d scim combo is 100-108k for the scim itself and about 3-5 k for the power ammy. That's a max of about 113k, less than half than the mace combo. If you switch out the power for a glory, it's something around 155k, still only half of the mace combo, but now it has a +3 advantage over the mace combo. However, it not only about monetary costs. While a quick check on the Tip it max hit calc will show that the d scim combo gives a max hit of 25 at 99 strength and the mace combo a max hit of 29, the slower speed will decrease the overall effectiveness. Couple that with lowered def bonuses and the mace combo becomes more and more unsavoury. I'm not saying that it's a terrible choice. The mace is probably most useful for training for special occasions where crush is needed, like raising the White Knight rank by killing armored black knights or killing waterfiends on the cheap. But overall, d scim combo is much more flexible.
  19. I want to make a little bit of money while I range or melee stuff. I've considered green dragons, but I'd rather keep the hides and bones and use them myself rather than sell them off. Anyone got ideas of what I could kill for alchable drops like weak armour or weapons? Stats: 70 atk 72 str 69 def (Almost 70 and then I can get black d'hide :wall: ) 68 mage 70 ranged 59 prayer 74 hp Low budget Current gear: Rune full Rune plate Rune Def or kite Dragon scim + dragon dagger (p++) Dragon boots Dragon legs SC mage robes God cape MSB Soon to have black d'hide Steel arrows/Black knives (from killing cyclopses to get a rune def) Accumulator Snakeskin boots/bandana

I suggest that instead of doing Camelot teleports, you do superheat on something like steel or mithril bars. You'll end up losing a LOT less and you'll get some delicious smithing XP in the process. It's only 2.5 XP less per casting and I think even with the banking is faster than waiting for the teleport animation to finish.

Considering his avatar, I think we should listen to Smapla. I think I'll go back for another round and get a second rune defender. Those cyclops are rather easy to kill, drop a good number of black knives, and hey, why risk losing my only one and starting from scratch again? But anyway, I suggest you get into the mindset not to get a rune defender, but to get XP, bones, etc. They are pretty weak and offer up some tasty XP, though not the fastest. Think of the defenders as a surprise. And make sure you always keep your second highest defender in the bank or when you get to rune, 2 rune defenders. You surely don't want to have to restart the process all over again
  22. This is how I did it: 1. When you get to the place, there will be a few side "bridges" or platforms that the demon can't though, giving you a good number of safespots. Hide in there and he'll only be able to use his mage attacks against you. Just pray and bring a few pray pots. However, if you know how to pray flash effectively and wear prayer boosting equipment like monk robes, you might not even need them. 2. The gnomes of the 10th squad will wear him down constantly, but it takes a while. Remember, you have to be the person who deals the final blow. 3. If you choose to range, this will speed things up a bit, but may end up costing you a bit (which I'm sure shouldn't be a huge problem. 4. As for melee (as I did it), wait for the gnomes to wear him down to about 1/4, put on some strong melee armour, keep on protect from mage, and start wailing on him with your weapon.
  23. I would suggest you do a lot of the quests that give agility XP first then pick an appropriate course. I went from 1 agil to 36 like you, but only had to do like 3 levels on the gnome course. I did quests like recruitment drive, frem trials, and grand tree. I'm about to do slug menace and then kennith's concerns, which is another easy 5000 agility XP which should bump me a level or 2. Once you're out of quests, you'll be able to do higher level courses or at the very least fail less often. That's at least my plan.
  24. I've heard it's decent for slow skills like prayer, but otherwise, you should only be getting void.
  25. Can you get more than one tool at a time? I was thinking of getting a bunch and then going to do blast furnace or something.
