I've bought a couple of these. They are not prepaid debit cards. They are specifically for gaming, about $10 each, and have various game logos/imagery on the front, although each card will work for any game that accepts PayByCash payments.

When are you accountable for your actions?
Mischlings replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
People are accountable for their actions a lot more than they think that they are. Disconnections are usually not a person's fault. I've run into that problem a few times before, lost millions, but I accepted the loss. Most people won't hold themselves accountable because they want to deny that they had anything to do with it. I rarely disconnect, but the times that I have, I've simply accepted it and moved on, trying to get back what I've lost. Here's my interpretation of being accountable: if you knew that something could very well go wrong and said "Screw it, I'll try anyway" -- it's your fault. -
Non-traditional sources of raw materials
Mischlings replied to Punitive_D's topic in General Discussion
Ice trolls drop good amounts of raw sharks, seaweed, coal, and balls of wool (not sure how many people need that last one, though). Minotaurs drop more iron arrows than you'll ever need -- even with a range level of about 30, you'll gain arrows by ranging them. Basilisks drop a large number of nature runes. Nechryaels and cave horrors drop a lot of herb seeds. Abyssal lurkers drop just about every type of talisman, in case you need any. Desert lizards drop a lot of ores, but they're all unnoted, which is slightly irritating. Goraks are a very good source of gems/half keys; I usually manage to get one gem per monkfish used. There are probably more that I know, but none of them stick out all that much in my mind. -
Heh, I know the feeling. It's a really good show off song once you get to the point that you can pass it consistently (still not quite there, so Raining Blood will have to suffice). Also, this may seem random, but is Cult of Personality considered a decently difficult FC?

It would take 15 days, to be precise (okay, it'd be a 108% increase, but it's close enough.) Also, I really don't care what these people do. Occasionally I find myself buying items that seem to have been adversely affected by some sort of mechanting/manipulation, but it doesn't bother me all that much; I'm too apathetic about prices. The system is there to be abused, and I don't care all that much if it is -- last I checked, I can still do the things I want to do in the game, so I'm not beating myself up over high prices.

I've played quite a bit in fastsc1, but recently, when I've tried joining the clan chat, it says that I'm not a high enough rank. Considering that I was getting in with no rank less than a week ago, I'm kind of confused as to what happened. I can't get into any of the fastsc clans now. So here are the big questions: - Did something change with the fastsc clans that means I can't get in anymore? - What are some alternatives that are populated enough for good games? - Should I just forget it and train skills without the clay tools?

AP exams are the biggest ones (I would know, I'm taking quite a few) and the finals that each individual school gives (there isn't much when it comes to standardized testing in America -- other than AP, there's almost nothing). This guide is somewhat helpful, but I would advise people to just set RuneScape aside when studying -- it's really much better for you. Some people (I'm one of them) can multitask like that, but I'd say that it would be the safest bet to just set aside RuneScape -- distractions are disastrous when it comes to studying.

I'll look through the thread again before posting and discussing the rates (assuming that I understand everything -- the first time was brutal) -- I probably won't have time to immediately, but I want to see what the rates are that you're working from. So other people CAN do it, just not everyone at once. That makes sense. (No, that isn't sarcasm.)
-
He explains why such a large range is used -- it's not a margin of error, it's an attempt to account for low and high summoning levels. I would also be interested in the task rates.

Yes, it's a convenience, but it was balanced pretty well. You can't escape in the middle of combat and you can only use it every 30 minutes, so that severely limits the uses of it. While I admit that is could be slightly "cheap" to use that instead of bringing a teleport, it's there and since it was put in specifically by Jagex, using it in that way isn't abusing a bug and I'll use it to the fullest. The bottom line of it, in my mind, is this: It's balanced, so it didn't make teleports obsolete. And as long as it's not a bug, then I will use it if I feel that it's worth using. It being bad for gameplay is mostly opinion, though.

It isn't impossible to do something without the home teleport -- whenever I do one run per trip at Barrows, I bring a teleport. All I'm saying is that it allows us more freedom in what we can take there by freeing up at least one inventory space. Also, the home teleport would be more analogous to free prayer points on a rarer basis -- similar to the Falador Shield, which hasn't imbalanced the game as far as I've noticed. It's quite balanced, making it a nice convenience in case you forget a teleport, but making sure that you can't abuse it to completely replace teleports -- sure, I never use one at Aviansies, but I'll use it soloing Bandos. It's not a replacement for conventional teleports, simply an alternative.

From their site: http://www.gabbasoft.com/download.htm It took me 4:35, though my computer crashed twice without saving, so I spent over 9 hours on it over the course of Labor Day weekend a couple years ago, though only 4:35 was spent working on that solve. (At the time, I was 12th fastest in the world at solving that) But enough of me -- I definitely support the suggestion. More puzzles are always good (maybe make it unlock something like the Sudoku during Rogue Trader minigame?)

D: < Can't make up my mind (99 question)
Mischlings replied to deletemeplease's topic in Help and Advice
I calculated about 27 million using Sacred Clay Needles making Green Dragonhide bodies. That's the cheapest method that uses dragonhides, and is decently fast. Not sure how the opportunity costs match up to blue/red/black (the last two are probably not worth it), but green is probably best. (If you want to know for sure, try running the calculations yourself, but I might be able to if I found the time) -
Since they're that fast, use a rune/dragon axe. Just make sure you move quickly -- since you didn't fill each pyre before lighting, you're just going to have to rely on luck to get the logs quickly enough.

I support this idea. Although, if you want to make it really crazy... Different cube sizes. I wouldn't make them rewards that are completely insane, but something for the novelty of it (similar to, say, gold Castle Wars armour). (The picture is a solve I did and the largest cube possible using Gabbasoft.)

A challenge for those of you who want a challenge.

I would die -- if I was doing this, one of the first things I'd do is make a load of law runes so I could get around. -

When it's 70 pages of insanity with rates mixed in with all sorts of side comments and arguments that completely detract from the discussion and serve no purpose but to frustrate the reader, yes. It would be a hell of a lot easier if the information was in one place. But really, it's your call -- if you don't want anyone to understand what the hell you're talking about because all the relevant information is lost in a sea of irrelevancy, go right ahead.
-
And yet again, you completely overlook the point. Look, you want intelligent, informed debate? Make the information easy to find. You'll be doing the people here a favor and doing yourself a favor as well, since you'll have less drivel to read and a higher chance of someone actually reading the information you want discussed. Kind of a win-win, unless you like things being difficult for everyone (which I'm beginning to think is the case).
-
Because it cant go any higher? ;) It's in the second to last tier, something I don't understand as it should easily be above Panic Attack as the harder of the DT songs, and the solo is infamous for being insanely difficult, as even with overdrive activated it's very possible to fail if you're sightreading/not a great player. It should be higher, but for some reason, it was badly tiered.
-
I'm glad they changed it, yes. Also, in a debate, there has to be some common ground that people have, some idea that they agree upon, otherwise no progress is ever made, as each is working with a set of assumptions that are very close to mutually exclusive (such as debates of people of different religions), therefore meaning that an understanding is next to impossible (as has been the case here, therefore I bow out here). Either I'm not being clear enough or you're not seeing my points -- in either case, I'm done here, as I have better uses for my time than being irritated to death.

I was trying to show that Jagex has made updates that weren't that well thought through -- I still disagree that it needed to be as harsh as 12k/hr to stop RWT. As you disagree with me on that, the rest of my argument would be pointless as we have no common ground to begin on. What do you mean, "either"? When I decided to stake, it took me no more than a minute to find other people to melee stake. Also, keep this in mind: I was not asking to have a system in which a staker could theoretically make 1M or more in 30 minutes or less (if I've done it, I know other people can do far better). I was simply asking for a system in which dueling would be a decent source of money without being so laughably low that it's abandoned.
-
No, I was trying to bring it up as a flawed system -- since you think it wasn't flawed, the entire argument was worthless as you wouldn't see the point that I had (you could've told me that long ago and saved me a lot of time) I never did any mage staking, mostly because of the costs, so I can't argue for that. However, I was saying that it is entirely possible that it could've been left as a method of making money comparable to skills and still nearly eliminating RWT. Melee staking was essentially free when it came to supplies (compared to mage staking, you only needed a one-time investment of less than 2 million), and it is entirely possible to create a system where you could make a couple hundred thousand in an hour in that way without it being easily abused for RWT purposes. (In fact, were the trading cap with max QP raised, it would compete with quite a few skills for a good way of making money and still be nearly impossible to be abused for RWT.) (Yes, I know that that is unfair against mage stakers, but that's a different problem.)
-
The way you worded it first implied that they'd be doing the work for it -- at least, that's what I saw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_gratification I doubt they'd like waiting even that long. Then there was no point in bring this up in the first place -- although I would think you're by far in the minority of people who think it wasn't overreacting. Also, I said that the 1M/hour was a random number and might have been a bit too high -- why continue to use it? A more reasonable number could've still left dueling as a decent source of money/pastime with some money involved while destroying RWT through duels.
