I have faced him only once. I have also beaten him once. I've died earlier in the caves twice if I remember correctly. I'm surprised that I killed him first try.

70+ all skills -- my last goal of 2009
Mischlings commented on Mischlings's blog entry in Always up to something
@Gandalf -- depending on the time frame, that shouldn't be too difficult. @Daavorian -- that shouldn't be too bad for you either -- next year is way more than enough time. @ABC -- it does feel good, now I just need to figure out a new goal to shoot for. In the meantime, killing tormented demons seems like a good option to put on the menu for now. -
Decided at about midnight that I'd finish getting all my skills to 70 or higher, saw it would cost less than 1.5 million to get this from 65, so here I go: Nothing major, I know, but it's an accomplishment.

I have about 10 free spaces at the moment -- the number that I have depends on what exactly I have been doing recently -- tasks like ZMI runecrafting pretty much require a full bank for good speed. Other times, it just hovers between about 10 and 15 free spaces.

Chaos Tunnels aren't really worth it unless you have an iron/steel titan from what I can tell -- their scroll's ability is what makes it worth it in that location. Otherwise, it just isn't worth being piled. I don't know this from experience, but it's what I've gleaned from other sources.

Blackjacking. Search the official forums for "Mega Thieving Guide" and there you go.

Far superior to zerker. Guaranteed +4 to every hit that does at least 1 damage. I believe that RoW has an effect, but for almost all practical purposes, other rings far outweigh its small change in drop rates. I still use it in solo boss hunting all the time, though.

Two main options that I can see: tank ranging and/or using a cannon. Using safespots is often too slow as usually only one spawn can be used, but for some it is viable. As you're using Kuradal, tank ranging monsters in her dungeon with knives or similar can be effective thanks to the +4 to every hit. There's also a ranged slayer guide on this site (I think), so try looking for that.

1) (Summoning) Is there a general rule of thumb to know about how much xp you can get from a certain amount of charms? I don't know of any off the top of my head and screwing around with the tip.it planners is a little tedious. (I'm currently 73) 2) (Ranging) I hate eating money like skittles using chinchompas and aviansies are usually more of an annoyance than anything. Because of these, I know my options are limited, but what else is there that would hopefully have some decent speed? (I'm currently 87) 3) (Melee training) What is the best method I can use to train melee stats that's easy to do without paying too much attention? I was thinking zombie monkeys, but I was wondering if there were better options (my lowest melee skill is 92 (attack and defense)) 4) (The hardest skill to train: patience) I've been doing some tormented demon killing recently, but I've run into a problem: other people. Some jackass lured the demons over to kill me, while there's the less direct but no less annoying hopping to find an open spot. I love killing bosses but the people piss me off to no end -- how do you get over that? 5) (Herblore) To the people with 96 herblore, just how useful is Overload? It seems like it's a really big hassle to make, you must repot every 5 minutes, and the 50 damage could be a problem in some situations. So really, how useful is it? It seems like the uses for it could be limited. I might have more questions later, that's just what came to mind.

Tormented demon killing in the last two days, one person told me "I can crash you or you can hop, your choice" (with MUCH worse grammar, of course), then another person came into my spot, said nothing, stood around for 30 seconds, then ran out, getting one demon on him, lured it over to me, I lured it back, we went back and forth like that for about 2 minutes, with me trying to stubbornly finish the kill. Hopping worlds is simple and the spot I was using isn't often that crowded, so I can only conclude that they were being jackasses for no good reason.

He never said a word the entire time, so I wasn't sure what he was doing because he was doing such a bad job of getting me killed -- it worked, but only because I thought that I could finish the kill and refused to teleport out. I lost nothing except some sharks/pots because I couldn't carry everything after I got back to my gravestone.

Came back to members around the time finals ended, and I finished While Guthix Sleeps yesterday, so predictably I've been killing Tormented Demons. Bit of a steep learning curve, took a while to figure out the right tactics, but I'm enjoying it. About 10 minutes ago, I'm killing some and someone comes in to my spot. Fine, he can just hop worlds. I expect him to be a jackass and try to steal my kill. If only. Instead, he decides to lure the demons over to pile on and kill me. He seems to barely know what he's doing, but it manages to work. I didn't lose anything since I'd prepared for the possibility of death there before, but still. Good job being a jackass. I have half a mind to go back there and do the same to him, but I'm better than that.

Okay, new question. What is the best way to deal with accidentally getting piled by demons? I currently take the coward's way out (run out of the area with the demons then log out and wait from them to disperse), but I get the feeling that there has to be a better way to do that.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_fool_theory Perhaps he thinks that there just happen to be bigger fools out there that would buy them for more. Or he's trying to push the price up so they'll go up and he'll have a good amount of junk to use for junk trading. Or I could make the fifth drug joke in the topic.

I'm surprised -- the learning curve for these beasts is quite steep (seriously, the first times I was there, I only got 1-2 kills with a tortoise full of sharks because I kept getting piled/forgetting to switch prayer/everything else I could do wrong) but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Right now, I couldn't care less if these things didn't drop anything -- they're just fun to kill. The possibility of large piles of cash is actually an afterthought to me right now.

Veteran becoming newb. How to make money nowdays?
Mischlings replied to Noarki's topic in Help and Advice
http://runescoop.com/html/rs_TheRuneScoopDynamicMoneymakingGuideforRuneScape.htm Awesome place to start, just work on getting some of your lower skills up then see what there is there in that guide -- there are a lot of things that you can do that make a lot of money, even at relatively low levels. You would be surprised just how much money you can make. I have no specific recommendations in mind, just peruse the guide I linked to above and see what catches your eye. -
You can also join the clan chat "Mining Golds" and go to the world they're on -- they will call out which rocks are up so there's no need for you to find them yourself -- speeds things up a bit.

I just finished While Guthix Sleeps and I'm interested in killing Tormented Demons. I don't, however, have 88 summoning (I have 73 summoning and enough charms for 81 if I was to really push it), so I was wondering what changes I would need to make in order to kill them effectively. I don't care about being super efficient, I just don't want to go there and completely screw everything up. What would I need to change from the inventories that I see in guides to make up for the lack of a unicorn? EDIT: Okay, new question. What is the best way to deal with accidentally getting piled by demons? I currently take the coward's way out (run out of the area with the demons then log out and wait from them to disperse), but I get the feeling that there has to be a better way to do that.

I'm sitting at 265 quest points and I just want to get the qualifications for WGS, which is driving me insane. I'd prefer the fastest that I can get the quest points -- I can do the longer quests later. This is what I have left to do: Blood Runs Deep Catapult Construction Cold War Curse of Arrav Dealing with Scabaras Glorious Memories Grim Tales Hunt for Red Raktuber Legacy of Seergaze Missing my Mummy Rocking Out Tail of Two Cats Tale of Muspah Temple at Senntisten TokTz-Ket-Dill Troll Romance Within the Light (I excluded WGS for obvious reasons) I have all the skills I would need for any quest, I just want to know what would likely be the fastest way to get those pesky 5 points. Obviously, some of those I can't do right away due to needing to do other quests first, I just listed every quest that I have yet to do.)

Here are my thoughts on it: "Enter to win a laptop? I already have one. Oh well, another one can't hurt. Damn, have to be 18. Wait, I turn 18 before the contest closes!" Now I just have to remember to enter it in a month.

It very well could be something else -- my sample size of 30 is hardly comprehensive, so there's a very good chance that I've missed something. I get the feeling that the drop they were referring to is quite rare, based on the wording of the post about it.

It is definitely NOT an uncut onyx. Jagex wants onyxes to cost more as you have seen with the 2.7m tokkul and now no more selling fire runes to shops. They are trying to raise the prices of all onyx items. Also if it was a new item, people would be talking about it. No, they don't necessarily want the prices to go up. They wanted to sever the link between fire rune prices and fury prices -- that was the rationale for the most recent update, no idea what it was for the 2.7m update. But for this, they just wanted to make sure that fire rune and fury prices are not linked anymore. Having a TzHaar creature drop an onyx (rarely) doesn't do much to the market for it and has nothing to do with fire rune or any other rune's prices.

I got only one lead on that: I got a drop of 15k tokkul within about 30 kills or so, in addition to quite a bit more tokkul from the rest of the kills. The only things I can think of that it might be are drops like that or perhaps an uncut onyx drop. Unfortunately, I can't do more tests as I lost membership today. Best way to find out might just be to go out and kill some yourself.

Back to f2p -- good way to avoid being too distracted
Mischlings posted a blog entry in Always up to something
Had my first final today -- philosophy, pretty easy. But that's school, not this. My membership runs out tomorrow -- perfect timing to give me more time to study (not that I'll use it all, I'm like that). While I'm f2p, while I have time, I'll probably spend my RS time on Great Orb Project -- should help once I get members back, good amount of money can be made off the right tabs. But that's all I can think of off the top of my head. -
Not sure about the rarity, but I just got a drop of 15k tokkul from a TzHaar-Xil (level 133). That means I'm averaging ~1k per kill over about 25 kills. I'll see just how it comes out in more testing.
