  1. I'm not justifying it. I find it amusing. If you don't, you don't. And I don't care about post count. I got quite a laugh... or, well, silent chuckle, reading through this - at least up till the point that people started complaining aboot it.
  2. They're all annoying at different times. Seriously, I find this QUITE amusing. And evidently so do many of the posters here. Wonder if this should be changed and moved to the forum games section or something...
  3. Except if you already have the 2h + hood bound, you can bind the box in your ammunition bind. Your just screwed if you have to unbind something for whatever reason, or when you hit 100 Dunge. But I guess I'm being off topic. Um, only hood I've seen was with a team. I was lucky enough to snag it myself o.O
  4. As amusing as this is, I'm really wondering why it isn't locked yet. And uh.... They all respawned at different times o.O
  5. Soon as I get 71 Dunge, I'm hunting for a celestial box...
  6. They all posted at different times.
  7. Nothing new here. There have been doors with requirements exceeding 99 since the day it came out. You can make potions in Dunge to boost all skills, with the exception of summoning and constitution I believe. *in b4 the lock*
  8. Do ALL mages drop them? Or just the highest level ones? I really want one :(
  9. I WANT ONE !!! For in Dunge. Heck, might give up my spear for it, if it works well :)
  10. How would you know if they make errors? Not like they'd publicize them. Only way you can know is from it happening unjustly to someone (or at least claims to have it happen.) Happens every now and then.
  11. You don't see the gain? They get to keep membership payments while the bots keep going. Money makes the Jagex Hq spin. Nah but smart on jagexs part. botters gonna keep botting jagex put stats at 1, botter redo process jagex get profit. Problem is if the person say, botted RC'ing deaths. Lose the exp, but gain money. If they mess with the persons items gained through botting, then I think it's ingenious and a really good system. At least for Jagex, bots don't profit/gain exp but the botters still pay for membership. Tbh, gotta agree, it does make sense from their financial perspective. But Jagex can't publicly say this, or people will start botting more. As for instant perm-ban.... suppose for a second that 10% of members bot. Perm ban them all, Jagex loses 10% of their revenue.
  12. Just go back one page and it will fix that misconception. Sounds like this is part of their new corporate strategy to combat grinding that they alluded to awhile ago. Get people involved in their community events plus those that emerged from players over the years. Doesn't appeal so much to me, but I'm glad its there because it makes the game a nicer place. Er, actually, I DID mean the previous page, i.e. page 4 o.O And thank you for not actively hating them for the blog, despite your lack of interest in it or that it doesn't meat your definition of emergent gameplay which seems, for some people, to go hand-in-hand with more efficient ways to do things that Jagex didn't realize.
  13. I got to the point where THE PERSON WANTING TO LOCK PEOPLE UP was under a banner that read LET FREEDOM REIGN. WTF!? And I don't give a rats ass what the politician claimed about the bill, as best as I can infer from the article, the bill came into existence to help private prisons make money. Oh wait, that's capitalism.
  14. No, low level f2p'ers mage (VERY low level) because of free runes. My estimate is once you get 30+ magic, it's worthless training. Used more in P2P as an actual offense because we have more offensive spells, particularly ancients.
  15. Fun fact: As best as I can tell, Not Trolling appears (to me) to be the only person on this page not trolling.... EDIT: meant page 4 >.> I think I should create a giant oil/gas trap type thing, label it What is Emergent Gameplay and wait for the first flamer.... *FOOSH* Slightly more ontopic.... you made two arguments 1) we should not judge what is an emergent form of gameplay or not unless we know for 100% certainty. My response is that such an argument would not be valid in a scientific community. "PROVE ME WRONG" is essentially your argument. That's really something I'd expect from golvellius, not a forum mod. The fact of the matter is I cannot prove you wrong. That's not going to stop me from thinking that you're wrong though. The point is you've set up an argument that I do not see meaningful resolution to, hence I will not continue in this discussion. I am allowed to ignore arguments that I see to be pointless am I not? 2) the article is moreso about community management. I agreed with this argument. There is nothing more to say here. It's ultimately a stupid business decision is what I'm arguing. Most non-community emergent gamers read dev blogs. Because dev blogs (such as the damage control dev blog, or the jad vs chicken dev blog) provide insight into the game, and a useful resource that helps these players with their non-community emergent gameplay. A missionary can post a christian billboard anywhere they want. And sure they could be targeting someone else than me. But if I'm not christian and I never want to be christian, posting it in my back yard is simply a bad decision. Jagex posted their community emergent gameplay thread in an area that non-community emergent gamers have a strong reason to frequent. Hence their decision was poorly made. That'd be like posting anti-abortion posters in mecca. It's silly. They didn't post it in your backyard. Unless Jagex sent you an email or message about this, it wasn't personally towards you. Speaking metaphorically, it's more like a freaking billboard. And another thing - of COURSE they advertise it to people who don't do... whatever was listed in the blog. What'd be the point of that? Unless you seem to think that only non-community emergent gamers frequent there? Even then, it's THEIR space, if they want to advertise on it, why not?
  16. Difference between them planning to do it, and it coming out within the next couple years. You could always try for the chaotic crossbow however. Which raises the question - with the dragon crossbow, we'd obviously have dragon bolts. Could you use dragon bolts with Chaotic xbow?

Less of a chance at Zammy, but it's still very crowded, at least at peak times. Good luck not getting crashed.
  18. Jagex purposefully put P2P doors in F2P dunge. They have a reason for it. The reason given was not, as I recall, to encourage F2P'ers to become Members. What I really hate is bonus doors that block off multiple bonus rooms. Like if you get one that prevents 75% of the bonus rooms. Not only does this affect the "bonus" room mod which isn't so bad, but it severely hurts the base exp as well. Oh, Jagex also gave a reason for randomly inserting doors with 95-105 requirements. They gave a reason that they seem to think is logical for that. Personally, I don't mind the 105 doors, as long as it's more or less a dead end. (Or say, a room you need to go to to unlock a dead end.) Same with the P2P doors in F2P.
  19. It doesn't involve much "work". Like I said, simply increase the damage capability of these staffs. Battlestaves: 5% damage Mystic staves: 10% damage Ancient staff: 15% damage SOL: 20% damage Chaotic staff: 30% damage As for the talisman staff, give it 10 free teleports to the respective altar (any + zmi if it's omni), and to recharge it you must take it back to the Runecrafting guild (repair for free). There, simple fix ^^ If it were ok and not overpowering for them to have that %, why did Jagex not give them that in the first place, instead of something lower? yea, the numbers might be a bit high, point stands shouth. mystic staffs are a melee weapon not a mage weapon. ohhh, a wizard staff has a knob at the end!... Yes! Yes! Yes! Discworld ftw! Could just give them a chance of casting their respective elemental spell for free. Then the question is what % do you have so it's useful, but not overpowered. And er, no free teleports to RC altars. Person gets say 10 staffs, that's 100 teleports before you recharge. No. Current RC altar teleport works, because you have to constantly play the game for tabs. Probably useful for skill pures, as I can't think of any other effective way for them to RC without being eaten. Well, maybe laws... since those talismans are tradeable... I find it kinda dumb how long staffs have been pushed on us as hybriding weapons, considering a true hybrid would just take another weapon.
  20. Last I checked, you don't HAVE to use theme worlds o.O
