  1. Updated, thanks. Should match the values in the bestiary now.
  2. The construction calc's all section was rather annoying to make due to duplicate names and being frickin' huge. I'm only human, mistakes happen. I'll start fixing it. Terribly sorry about the mess. Edit: it's done. Crude wooden chair, daffodils and throne awaiting verification.
  3. That's one fancy map. Didn't even know we had that :| Considering the authors aren't on the crew anymore, I'll look into it sometime.
  4. The Runescape manual agrees with you. Most calculators can't easily be adjusted right now pending a fix for Safari browsers. This little correction will be deployed alongside said Safari fix. Marking this as done. Thanks!
  5. That's the fighting calculator, actually :P It's fixed, thanks.
  6. Regular strength potion adds +12.5% strength, Zamorak adds +15% and Super Strength adds +20%. It's entirely possible you end up hitting the same, regardless of using Zamorak or Super Strength. Also, merged with the other max hit topic.
  7. It's just an approximation. Even so, it seems a bit on the conservative side. I'll see if I can find more info on it. Also, On Soviet Tip.It, crewbies find you :
  8. Tab for currency, one for melee equips, one for ranged and one for magic. I'm not too sure on how to organize the rest of my items.
  9. You could, but if you did it'd be rather pointless don't you agree? :)
  10. Yes, I meant ban. And no, I don't think that minor offenses should be instantly banhammered - one should only resort to bans under the most dire circumstances. I'd prefer to teach them how to do it right, instead of doing it for them. Take our dear Tip.It website, for example. If I can't figure out how to make something work, I can't just go like "hai gusy, don't get this, please fix" and have someone else do it for me. With many things in life, you'll just have to learn and do things yourself. Runescape's a good place to start, I'd say. Consider the reward for a puzzle an encouragement for people to learn things.
  11. Collect beads. All the cool kids do it : On a more serious note, I found myself collecting beads for no apparent reason. And recently, I discovered my mother, who's playing more than me nowadays, also collects them for no apparent reason. Scary :P And as the poster above me mentioned, putting together a good custome is fun, too.
  12. You have public chat toggles for that... Maybe, but I kinda feel like an asshat when I simply ignore people like that. On QC-only worlds you can go around and do your thing without being bothered too much, and any interaction with others can be dealt with swiftly. I usually don't mind a chat, but at times there's just me wanting to do some stuff while not being distracted by anything, like when I come home late tired, yet unable to sleep. A bit of clicking without giving it much thought is a good way to empty the mind, and not having to deal with questions and such helps the "not much thought" part.
  13. Your RuneScape account should be, in Jagex' eyes, a representation of the things you've accomplished in the virtual world of Runescape, yourself. Any outside help, be it someone else spending countless hours working on a skill, or doing something tricky like fight caves or a certain quest, invalidates this, and gives you an "unfair", or undeserved advantage over fellow players who do stick to the rules. Things like a Fire Cape or having some skills at 99 give you a form of status. This would be undeserved if you didn't actually earn any of it yourself, or didn't do all the work involved. If someone would hop on someones account simply to pass on a message to somebody else who for some reason is only reachable through 'Scape (can't really think of a scenario right know, think of this as a "what if" example), then I personally wouldn't have any problems with that. (Keep in mind that this is my opinion - Tip.It as a whole stands firmly behind Jagex' rules) However, as soon as that person decides to do anything that might benefit the actual owner of the account, I'd be against it, as from that point on, the account is no longer the owner's own accomplishment. And considering it'd be very hard and timeconsuming, if not impossible for Jagex to validate claims of "I wasn't doing anythings at all, honests!", I completely understand their reasoning to outlaw account sharing altogether.
  14. Getting a skill to 99 in 'Scape isn't hard, it's simply time consuming. A trained monkey could do it, too. What I consider hard is organizing a group of 25 people to all do their part in order to take down a raid boss. Runescape's player vs. monster combat totally pales in comparison to WoW's, and there's no way a group of trained monkeys is going to down any raidbosses at all. In 'Scape, you can bring pretty much anyone to whatever you're going to kill, and it'll help. If somebody dies due to doing something stupid, their loss. You'll manage with the remaining crew. In WoW, that person dieing is probably going to make your life much harder, as frequently fights are a race against the clock, or that person has to take care of a certain aspect of a fight, etc. I see some people mentioning it's easy during levelling. Right. In 'Scape, you can run through a room filled with like 20 aggresive monsters without much risk at all. In WoW, unless said monsters are well below your level, you're going to die, period. When comparing the two, one should keep in mind that while Runescape pretty much ends with you getting all 99's (and possibly stuff like Chompie bird hats and Castle Wars armor), WoW only starts once you reach maximum level. Even so, if skilling is your thing, and you take satisfaction in slowly but surely grinding your way to 99's, you are going to be disappointed in WoW, as it's a completely different game in that regard. As for not winning your opponent's kit when defeating them in PVP, you'd have to play to understand. Take it from me that WoW players find it equally ridicilous when told that in 'Scape, you lose your kit when you get killed by another player. In 'Scape, you can equip your standard set of full rune and still do relatively well, whereas in WoW, you'll always be running around with your very best kit in order to be competitive. It's completely different and thus shouldn't be compared.
  15. This is the case for me. Although I still find RS interesting, I'm no longer an active player, as an awful lot of my time goes in WoW. I see some comments on WoW being a grind. Well, sure, every MMO is in a way. But RuneScape as far worse as far as grinding goes. I wouldn't say it's easier, either. Boss monsters in WoW are vastly more complicated than anything on RS. The only thing that really stand out in Scape is the fight caves, although that's more or less due to the amount of time required for each shot you get to take at Jad. I also saw someone comment he played on a private server. Seriously, don't. Both the community (which is like half the game) and the gameplay itself seriously fail on private servers. The lack of solo-endgame comments are a valid complaint. Sure, there's some factions you can improve your standing with, but that's that, and even those have aspects of grouping to them. There's no devilishly complicated stuff like Mourning's End Two you can lose yourself in. So if grouping and socializing isn't your cup of tea, then WoW probably isn't for you. I do disagree with RS being more "accesible" than WoW. Doing some stuff on the GE for five minutes is compared to doing an instance in WoW. A more reasonable comparison would be killing bosses in the God Wars dungeon versus doing an instance. And face it, you don't log in to do some boss killing for five minutes. And finally, sure, you need a fairly recent PC to run WoW flawlessly on it's highest settings. But my old PC, which is at this time about six years old, was able to run it at an acceptable level with most settings at a medium level. Most of the requirements to run the game at an acceptable level aren't high at all - only it's RAM requirements might be considered high, as it isn't really playable with under 512 megs.
  16. Heh, that Terror Bird looks like it's about to cry. I've heard about Spore quite some time ago and, depending on reviews (and if the PC allows it), I'll be giving it a go. It sure sounds like an interesting game.
  17. As long as map layout (geometry) and timing stuff stays the same in the high detail version, I don't foresee any compatibility issues. And even if some geometry is being changed for the sake of prettyness, the old version could be updated as well, in order to make the different versions match. Can't say I'm looking forward to a server split again. We all know how the RSC / RS2 split ended up, and it'd be a shame if people with older PC's would be stuck in worlds full of ghosttowns.
  18. Yup, but barely. I've got an GeForce4 with 64mb, which is barely covering the minimum video card requirement. PC's covering the other requirements by a fair margin.
  19. C:\Windows\.file_store_32 For the average windows user, anyway :P
  20. Yeah, Crumble hits up to 15, so I'd say around 7.5 average, which'd up the average xp a bit. On the other hand, I recall Jagex nerfing Crumble xp quite a while back because it made levelling too easy / cheap. I'll look into it tomorrow. Edit: assuming 7.5 average and indeed 2 xp per damage, upped the xp with 15 to 39.5. Cheers, and locked.
  21. lol, America That's the first thing that comes to mind really :P I went to a catholic, well, high-school equivalent I suppose you could call it, and nobody really cared at all if you hugged, or god forbid, kissed someone. That's almost scary :|
  22. I'd say Zelda's adventure, not an RPG. I absolutely loved Diablo 2, but not because of RPG factors, so I'm not listing that one either. Same goes for Dungeon Siege 2. As for me, in no particular order, simply because I cannot: - Lufia 2 (SNES) - Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn (PC) - Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA) Honorable mention for Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: TTYD :
  23. I raise you by 21 minutes, and happy newyears tip.it :)
  24. Yes, there, also 4 or 5 quests in STV are borked, along with one I just found in Badlands. Horde side? I found nothing wrong with alliance quests around those levels (but I skipped most of STV), even if the twin elite dragon quest in Badlands is no longer marked as a group quest, with the dragons still being very much elite. Besides, Dustwallow xp / items are extremely good for a feral druid. I upgraded most of my gear over there. The Stranglethorn Fever quest got hammered, aye. You must now collect 1 gorilla fang to start the event. It consists of three waves; the first consists of one Enraged Silverback, the second has Konda and the third has the quest mob. Nets you 8300xp, about double the standard quest xp. Hardly makes any sense. Also, the quest which previously involved killing the level 50 elite Gorilla on Jaguaro Isle now involves a level 42 non-elite. And the requirement to even accept the quest from the letter in a bottle is still 45 -.- I'd say they messed some stuff up.
  25. Level 53, if I recall correctly. It's been a while :P
