I have feeling for my friend Tom, I love him as a friend but I'll never have sexual intercourse with him because I don't find it appealing to me.

Back when I was at church (brainwashed happy clappy Christian) Our youth leaders would tell us how gay people were horrible, unclean and generally awful people and needed Jesus's help.. This wasn't just at one church I've been to plenty where the message was more or less the same. Then I met a great gay person in school, learned some science, learned to think for myself and decided that the Bible is an outdated book of stories. So yeah the point I'm getting at is the Church's intolerance to homosexuality was one of the reasons I lost faith.

Title says it all really, just wondering if anyone knows of good songs by bands , they can even be famous bands but the songs are hidden on their albums and are really good. who's to say that you control yourself? I assume you decided to make that post, just like I decided to make this reply. It wasn't forced on me through fate or some divine intervention. I could've pressed the 'back' button, thought to submit it instead to show you can control yourself :lol: You made that post because the chemicals in your brain thought that they would get excited and have some pleasurable time in trying to prove that your point is correct. Its like you lie on the couch and watch the television and then you get the urge to eat something, your brain is comfortable watching the television whilst lying on the couch however it knows that if you get the food you will be even more comfortable so it weighs up the options. Anyhow get a read of this interesting stuff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will#Incompatibilism However I was talking more about the spiritual and long term control, i.e. the writer obviously believes in some God, so I was just waiting for him to clarify if he thinks that it's because of God that we get free choices, to which I would of said the contrary.. Edit: the whole concept of free will is a huuuuuge debate and opinions obviously vary... as for me I'm partially undecided however if I take the Christian prospective then from there a human has no free will IMO good night :).

Nowadays, the media dictates what kind of girls are considered attractive. "Pretty" and "attractive" are relative terms. In current Western culture young, busty, skinny and tanned girls are "pretty" whereas pale, plump and mature women are "ugly". A few hundred years ago, it was exactly the opposite. To prove my point, take a look at female nudes in art. (I suppose this is acceptable as it is not pornography) First of beg your pardon for the late reply. Second of all I accept your point about the changes in cultural tastes, and we're talking about the culture in general here because there will be segments that like the things that you mention as 'ugly'. However you can see that the culture is always changing as some size0 models are being banned from fashion shows because its quiet frankly wrong for them to be sending those images out to younger girls. To the point of media dictation, well I'm not so sure media dictates people well at least I hope it doesn't but I can see how it can affect some peoples choices.. at the end of the day we have to have education to allow us to make judgements for ourselves by weighing up the arguments from both sides.

I agree with you on the cinema but the worst are these idiots on buses/trains playing [cabbage] music on their phones so the whole bus has no choice but to hear the garbage... maybe its just a problem up here :(
