Teens kill 7 year old Girl with Mortal Kombat moves

Quote:

In Jamestown, Colorado, two teens have been charged with killing a 7-year-old girl by beating her with imitations of moves from the Mortal Kombat video games, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Lamar Roberts, 17, and Heather Trujillo, 16, were charged as adults on one count each of felony child abuse causing death, according to court documents obtained be the Associated Press.

A police affidavit states that the teens were babysitting Trujillo's half-sister, Zoe Garcia, on December 6. When the teens hit, kicked, and body-slammed her with moves imitating Mortal Kombat, the girl lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

The teens tried to revive the girl by running water in her mouth and attempting CPR. They then called her mother and 911, but the girl died at the hospital.

An autopsy revealed that the girl had a broken wrist, more than 20 bruises, swelling of the brain, and bleeding in her neck muscles and under her spine.

A witness reportedly told police that Roberts said that the girl told them to stop wrestling. When the witness asked why they didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t stop, he responded, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅI don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know; I was drunk.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Seriously screwed up incident.

The fact that these "moves" came from mortal combat is only a poke at the gaming industry. The article is obviously biased and should of just said these teens killed a young girl, which they did. Regardless of the games, it was their choice of actions which led them to this situation.

Doing that too a 7 year old girl, mabye understandable if they were like 10 , but 16 and 17 they knew that there were literally abusing a young child

You can manipulate any accident to make it look like it happened because someone played a game or watched a video. Here's a scenario:

A boy tries to learn to fly from jumping off the roof and dies. Media could say "Boy dies trying to re-enact Dragonball Z."

:\

Ok. The laughing part is over.

Now that is seriously screwed up. Look at her injuries. . . how the hell are you [developmentally delayed]ed enough to beat around a seven-year-old with martial arts to the extent of giving her injuries like that.

At least they won't reproduce while in jail.

And I agree with Lionheart that the video game spin is just a bias towards the industry. They could have got those moves from watching a wrestling match.

That's true, but I think that the drunk babysitters probably mentioned that they were trying out Mortal Kombat moves. If not, then I completely agree that the media is just poking fun at computer/video games, and it's sad that the media would take this stance on an incident which should be really serious.

How big are these guys? Huge, musclebound, or skinny, or fat or what? Someone really huge babysitting a kid with alcohol...recipe for disaster.

They were using wrestling moves on her, none of which have ever been in mortal kombat. Pulling in the came is just a cheap way to put the blame on something.

Its sick, yeah.

Yeah, that's why in a longer article they quote the female killer as SAYING they were intentionally imitating mortal combat. Because mortal combat had nothing to do with it and video games are never the cause of any negative action. Gosh, you guys are the bias ones, you didn't even do any research before blaming the article as bias. Ridiculous.

summerpngwy6.jpg

At least their being tried as adults. And Im am glad its child abuse causing death and not manslaughter (which is also applicable here) because felony child abuse causing death caries a higher penalty. I hope they get the whole 48 years. They deserve the guilt and regret of what they did. Trying to save the girl in the end means little to me. Just because they didnt want to kill here, only seriously hurt her makes me sick. Adn the newspaper can shove it for blaming a video game. Just because these 2 teens are from the shallow end of th egene pool does not mean many people are this incredibly dumb and heartless. Drunk or not they knew she would be hurt.

I think in florida this is one of those charges you can get the chair for, but their not in florida, and guilt may be more effective punishment.

Morons. That is why you usually pick "sane" people to babysit your kids.

I'm going off what I saw. No links were given. I'd like to see the link to this longer article as well.

And the video game still has no effect here cause even though they know the moves (or think they do) from the games, its their thoughts and the fact that they chose to go through the actions which have caused the problem. It's like saying that having guns around caused the VT killings. Although It would not of happened at all, if the gun man wasn't stupid enough to kill those people, it wouldn't of happened.

Hence the quote "Guns don't kill people, people kill people".

Hmmm I doubt it, wrestling didn't really invent hitting, kicking and bodyslams. Now if they said Super Flying Death Top-Rope Brainbuster Suplex......

38% of Tip.Iters put stupid made up statistics in their sigs. If you are one of the 62% that don't, put this in your sig.
