Game-engine Improvements by Andrew 11-Jun-2009
Well, the problem with that is each one of them would have to be trained in order to follow proper procedures, plus there's always the problem of people going rogue when you have to manage that many. Well...I guess I'll go back to crafting now.

To heck with used! That was the least amount of anger I felt towards them in months. I'd gladly go through another day of horrific chaos to get that kind of convenience back.

Yeah, I was sort of joking. Sort of. Seriously, fletching is boring, and woodcutting is boring, but doing both? My gameplay just went from repetitive clicking to dynamic process and drop action. I felt like Henry Ford just gave me a kick in the pants. How the hell would they ban anybody? I'm sure every single person in Gielinor was doing it!

Well, I did rather enjoy being able to fletch and wc at the same time.

New multitasking abilities? (party's over for now)
Well, nuts. I think they changed it back. Tbh it was a bit crazy. At the same time, I can't help but feel that I wasn't being buried in having to gain all this exp if I could do more than one thing at a time.

So wait, all this other two-thingsism wasn't intentional.....but apparently they think it may as well stick around?

New multitasking abilities? (party's over for now)
Update: since nobody bothered to answer my question, I went out and checked for myself. YOU CAN FLETCH DURING WC. Cut, fletch, drop, cut, fletch, drop.... Small sidenote: while I was posting this I accidently filled up my inventory with willow logs at the same rate I was fletching them.

New multitasking abilities? (party's over for now)
Yeah, this is one of their new "ease of use" updates. I think it's in the list of minor tweaks after the main update. It was entirely intended, unlike a lot of the other stuff that happened yesterday.

Is it possible to fletch while wc?

New multitasking abilities? (party's over for now)
Since the update, a large number of things have been possible to do while doing other things. It's a bit ridiculous, but convenient. For instance, now I can do barbarian rod fishing, and cut fish WHILE I'm fishing. After that, I can drop the eggs or offcuts and continue to fish. Or drop the fish and just use normal bait. Heck, I can eat the eggs while fishing. It's like a perpetual fishing machine! Anybody else have something of note to share? EDIT: Pah, so it wasn't intentional.....and yet some of the mods were saying that they did it on purpose. Well, heck, why not bring it back? For a day, my life was much easier, and everything seemed less of a chore. Granted, some of them hardly made sense, but at the same time, almost nobody complained about it (aside from the normal people), and that's pretty much a victory in my book.

Are you self suffcient?
I was self sufficient before, but that was when I was poor. I mean, before the GE every danged merchant who wanted to buy from me was trying to get me to sell low so that they could flip it for a profit. No respect at all. I may as well have just joined them in the exploitation of the hard labor's work ethic, and I would have made more money. There was not much point for me to even fish for a profit.....those days, I did it because it was relaxing. I mean, I certainly didn't spend hours of sitting on a dock just to be ripped off for that time by some two-bit punk on the streets who thinks they're doing something worthwhile. I don't see why it was so great before the GE, just a bunch of bloody [bleep]ers shouting in the street and doing nothing whatsoever regarding fair trade. These days......I still can't make much money from fishing. Combat drops being much much better than everything else in the game and whatnot. Not much of a choice these days if you want to maintain purchasing power in this world. So.....still doing this for relaxation. The view's kind of nice from atop this hill. Despite the metallic horrors beneath the whirlpool. But it is fun watching various people jump in to their doom. I'd wave to them, but I've got fish to cut.

9th June 2009 - Run Energy Update / Patch Notes
If I could cut fish as I was barb fishing.... Well, let's just say it would be entirely possible to never stop.

So, is this insanity over now? Monsters fighting? Even the big ones when you're facing them directly?

Seers' Journal: 4th Edition, June 6 2009
I don't know how your comic maker comes up with such horrible puns on a regular basis. :D But yeah.....I have a shoulder-mounted paint frog launcher (with built-in scope). What part of that even makes sense technology-wise?

Tip.It Times: 7 June 2009
So that's what happened to the cards...... Wait, so what about people who do the cold war quest now? Do they get to keep their cards or did they retcon the quest to take it away after you're done with it the first time?.... Either way, I can't wait to see what kind of favor the Don of penguins would have me do. About that tweet.....I have to say, that's sort of creepy. Are they looking this way now? EVERYBODY HIDE :o

Mod Mat K & Manipulator clans Debate
Actually, I've seen some manipulations that have lasted for a month. Tell me that don't make the guy who paid for that month all huffy. Heh.

Mod Mat K & Manipulator clans Debate
Oh, that makes it even juicier. The "mutually assured destruction between merch clans" angle just makes this much more fun. So drama. I guess this is the kind of thing you have to expect when playing an MMO....

Mod Mat K & Manipulator clans Debate
Well... This is really about whether we want to protect the everyday person from being cut off from parts of the game that they have to be "smart enough" to access, or if they really just don't deserve it and things will sort it out in the long run. Which is the more right? Is it even about that anymore? Is manipulation wrong, or is it just another aspect of the natural order? You could define one side as being deviant from the natural order, and the other side the correct path, and on the other hand their collective actions could be considered entirely normal and is unfolding as it should, or will. So, from an amoral standpoint......Jagex has about an equal right to try to control the game as much as the manipulators will try to control it back. I, for one, am amused by these events and will accept the fact that watermelon growing is hugely impractical on the wallet now that I have decided that they can go **** with each other all they want as long as I get to watch. There's no point bickering over these things if they're going to happen anyway.....I say sit back and try to enjoy it rather than try to fight something that you can't fight.

DevBlog - 5th June - Design Review: New Fairy Quest
We already got the desert quest. I think this is the problem with giving away even the slightest hints....you folks inflate these ideas too much. Then they are mistaken to imply that there is a set schedule or point of development made up in your head that you impart too much faith in.

Illogical Things of Runescape
As I've previously mentioned, you can visit head trauma on somebody for an infinite amount of time without their pockets being any less empty or their heads being any more broken for the most part.

RuneScape DIY.
Wouldn't that just be a single player game? They'd probably up the drop rates on things since commerce was taken out of the equation.

2nd June 2009 - Hunt for the Red Raktuber + Patch Notes
But of course. I mean, I was expecting that evidence to be covered up even before I managed to get the zookeeper to look at it. The cabin of the sub is surprisingly small for a craft of that size. I'd bump my head in there. Poor Larry. He is resourceful.....but his nose must be itching like CRAAAAZY right now. Despite disappointment in the end results (well, other people's disappointment), I've never played any other game where there are both animations for scratching a man's nose, and tickling a polar bear. Fish hats are also fun and are a fresh breath of air in the fishing outfit lineup (skillers like to dress up). I wish they hadn't cancelled making the lobster hat though. A lobster hat would be fun too. I was hoping there would be a reward for turning KGB agents, but there appears to be not much at the moment. If there is, at least I've carted in three bagfuls of the suckers. Their capture animations are sort of funny. I'm glad the deadfall doesn't kill them outright (I chalk it up to the snow being too soft to crush them upon), and if you box trap them, you can see that they don't quite entirely fit in the box and their feet get caught in the door. How does one determine the difference between the agents and normal penguins aside from the item name?.....they seem equally curious in investigating wooden boxes with hinges or very, very obvious net traps, though. So, I'm guessing the polar bear agent for hide and seek is as poorly disguised as the one on the island? Sidenote: Aeria doesn't make games, they just buy the rights to it and host them. Of course, most of their choices were rather.....poor.

Jagex MMG interview part 2 of 3, talking RuneScape
Well, I was making an analogy to back in the day when people thought that the sun was actually leaving and coming back instead of the Earth turning on its axis, and then tied that in to people who play this game complaining about anything they happen to observe on the surface, when there is much more going on, and that either way, griping about it doesn't do anything useful. However, I forgot to put the end part of that thought: I do thank you for informing me that people still think that way. It gave me a bit of lulz. I'd quote that if I were that kind of person. As a counterpoint, it has been proven that some lifeforms can actually survive in zero sunlight provided that another energy source, like thermal vents, is involved. And no, I don't count the undead in that list. But know that if the sun leaves, it will be in a very, very large explosion that will engulf the Earth, among other planets, in a huge funeral pyre that will kill everything on the planet with the radiation long before the flames actually reach it. That won't happen for a good several billion years though. Provided that we don't decide to do it ourselves.

Jagex Twitter Update
Oh, of course it's coming. With the periscope sightings and the thing that Zanik saw (which is either that freaky creature that we presume is also down there or just the same periscope), it appears that the penguins are on the move once again. I do hope we get to do more underwater stuff, any excuse to break out the brine sabre....
