  1. Well, I'd say level up, not for the titans, but mainly to press huge costs when you have everything for like 90+ summoning. It's best to do it in batches (level up to where the money permits you, then swap/sell pouches and recuperate money). Thing is, the elemental titans are not thaaat useful. I remember hitting the level and I ended up using them scarsely. For slayer tasks, you are better off with a bunyip (unless you have a rather low def level and find that for some slayer tasks you need a more controlled form of healing), and for most bosses, they don't heal that enormeously (uni is quite a better improvement). For bosses, the main concern is the 3 scroll limit. It means with a full summ spec bar you can do 3 (or 4?) scrolls for healing, after that you need to wait for it to restore. So for bosses that can do quite some damage, they won't be enough. I remember this being a problem when I used them for TD's.
  2. I believe to remember from an intellectual property course you can't patent ideas. Anyway someone here said not to look at patents, which is a good way (not entirely, bit ignorance is sometimes bliss). It's all about your own implementation of an idea, which is why Gerard said he was dissappointed that PalTalk didn't seek contact at first. It wasn't until they reviewed the actual source code, that it turned out PalTalk couldn't sue Jagex. It's cause the idiots realised Jagex' implementation and possible other ideas of how to implement the technology showed distinguishable different features, proving Jagex had developed it's system without copying over from patents.
  3. It's good you've given some experience on maging them, I myself am mage slaying rather often, just for the mage exp and fun (really don't care bout efficiency at this moment), and at times it's seriously better than melee/range.
  4. Interesting, I read somewhere best not to, but this is interesting. However, do they still hard when wearing full mage gear, seeing as they are very accurate? If so, I'd still prefer to use prossy.
  5. I easily break even or profit from mage slaying, which makes training mage more fun to me then idd teleing billions of times or alching all the time. Attempt to use the highest spell at all times, though potting/wolpertinger should allow you to use fire surge pretty much all of the time. EEE is heavily recommended, arcane stream is a beauty to use. An arcane spirit shield would be a good weapon for its defence bonuses (you need this) and massive mage attack bonus, but I'm still stuck with a simple zammy book. Right now I only have experience with a limited set of monsters, my slayer master is Kuradal. Monsters you shouldn't mage slay: -abberant spectres -non-chromatic dragons -waterfiends -wyverns -thzaar and volcanic creatures Monsters you should definitely mage slay: -chromatic dragons (medium to fast, very interesting for miths too) -abyssal demons (mostly 4-5 hits using fire surge, use sharks or rocktail) -hellhounds (round 3 fire surges) -greater demons (2-3 fire surges, goes extremely fast) -nechryaels (barrage in ct, makes the amount of time you spend on these tasks go down tremendously, ee/eee should be enough to heal you sufficiently) -black demons (I blocked these though) -dust devils (3-4 hits, but do quit some damage, I know of some 'safespot' in ct, in a sense that one dust devil is out of your range, hence won't attack you) -fire giants (N/A) -ice strykewyrms Monsters I'm not sure about: -bloodvelds (better to just cannon + prossy) -dagannoth (I just kill the Dagannoth Kings when I get these) -gargoyles (heard these were OK for maging, but I haven't tested it myself yet) -strykewyrms (not sure on jungle on deserts, heard it's disencouraged) -kalphites (blocked for me) -LRC (I believe these might be nice, but haven't been able to test so yet) -suqahs (blocked for me) -terror dogs -warped tortoises
  6. If fully blessed (depends on blessers prayer points) close to an hour. Plenty of time, even for very remote locations.
  7. If you think you can bring up the money to recharge your c rapier every time, I'd say sell it. Might want to do it quick, apparently Smoking Mills has made them crashing again. Definitely try and go for extremes. Or reach 84 herb and stew to make them if you want to press costs. With the eye on levelling herblore you should start farming a lot more, I'd be surprised if you didn't get a good load of seeds from slaying. Get scroll of life and cleansing.
  8. Scroll of cleansing is worth getting, just for its cheap price alone.
  9. With super pots and void I've recorded hits up to 450+ on waterfiends, pretty consistently. Works very well on wyverns, hits up to 500+ with super pots. Monsters with low mage def, it kinda speaks for itself to use it there. Haven't had the chance to test it on much other stuff as I'm mage slaying for the moment.
  10. Goal: take a break from RS, if you regain interest after a while, then good for you. No need to keep forcing yourself to play if it becomes a drag. Others might disagree, but it's personal to everyone.
  11. Try to get herblore up some or stew to extremes and make some, then go solo hybrid in a non ls world, best to find a solo mage to go with it. With that 95 prayer and yaks you might try to solo tribrid, but with your 87 mage I predict trouble if you'd run into a solo mage, you'll need to compete with him/her using cog or your best surge spell (and since you don't have overloads that'd be water surge, don't know if that's good to begin with against Rex). Anyway leave the solo mage unless you really trying to get berserkers, cause it's totally boring. You might still choose to bring a cbow with some bolts and hit prime then let deflect mage to the rest and telegrabd its drops.
  12. No point in arguing with other players over a spot. I still apply courtesy and for bosses like TD's I would most likely hop around for an empty world. Yesterday however I hopped in a dk lair to solo Rex (which is boring) and crashed a low level using slayer dart. I simply did knowing worlds are harder to find for soloing Rex and I would get crashed easily there as well (which happened with a lvl 138, whom I got to log). I didn't taunt the lower level or called him noob or anything, I just killed Rex faster and made him hop. I would however like to crash people of which I know they crash others unjustified and without courtesy, and with my account getting more powerful, that is becoming closer to reality.
  13. Myeah, it's simple, and I prolly judge a bit too fast. My first attempt I had to hop round 15+ worlds and got crashed when I found one after my first lure. Then again, I was doing it on a Saturday :/. That aside, I momentarily don't have the time to play much during the week anyway, just on weekends. I had been thinking of maging metal drags, with yaks it's probably a good choice. I don't care too much about efficiency right now, I'll go dks and such later on when I've achieved eliteness.
  14. Well I feel a bit stupid asking this, but I'm interested in getting my for too long neglected mage level up (85 now). I know stunning and using lunar spells ain't really my thing. So I wonder how combat oriented people would level it. What monsters slayer wise are good to use magic spells on, and which spells? I don't mind camping monsters, but I rather not resort to ice bursting zombies or anything similar in ct. Bursting lobs I find a bit hard as I'm easily crashable due to not having access to ice barrage. I believe momentarily my only income of magic exp is teleporting and barrowing. I have all the tokens required for an arcane stream. Stats are in sig.
  15. Gonna have to wait for warped floors if you want a primal spear. Personally with the overemphasized combat triangle in daemonheim, the spear is the best due its 3 attack styles. I got mine of a prommy warrior doing a 4 man dungeon.
  16. Stopped dung at lvl 48 then just had tog up to 63 restarted cause I need scroll of life, a day later it just fell out of the air, I was like, oh nice, ain't this supposed to be rare? Hope you get one soon :/
  17. I recently got access to the pack yak, and I'll be using it for many things, including collecting dbones. For the high level dungeoneers reading this, I do not have the required lvl 85 to slay frost dragons and won't have it anytime soon, so let them be. I'm primarily interested in how many dbones per hour I can collect. I was thinking of maging irons/steels in Brimhaven dungeon using fire wave, ahrims, sol, ... Does anone have better suggestions (aside from getting 85 dung)? I have a void mace, so I could use cog. I also have full mage void, my mage level is a puny 85. Other drags I should be camping? ...
  18. I still prefer bunyip over uni's at waterfiends though, the raw food drops are common enough and cover it all. Use unicorns if your defence is like 85 or lower perhaps.
  19. In guides it says that vengeance can only be cast every 30 seconds by the same caster. Does this mean that if I would vengeance myself and it would get activated, immediatly after (under 30 seconds) another person can cast the "vengeance other" spell on me? Or is there also a 30 second limit on the person receiving the cast?
  20. This, you need the specs, they'll do most of the real damage against Nomad.
  21. I used to be a low level back then without the option of fancy armour so here's what my setup looked like: black dhide neit helm archer ring rcbow with ruby(e)/diamond(e) zammy book (I prefer to put more on offensive than take a proper shield) snakeskin boots fury barrow gloves ava's accumulator My inventory consisted of exactly 10 sup restores, the diamond bolts, 1 range pot, and all the rest brews (tort full of brews). Seriously, don't bother with rocktail, you're going to need the lp restore brews deliver. Stragey: first test him out a bit, do some practice runs. Remember his routine. Pot range and start with ruby(e) and only switch to diamond(e) during the freeze stages and when he's berserk. When he is in berserker stage attack him some times, if he hits too much pillar hug and heal up (might also consider a quick range pot sip), then go back (or he does the coward tele thingy), repeat till he's dead, normally your tort should help a bit.
  22. If your aim is 99 summoning and you plan to wait it out till the next double exp weekend arrives (of which no date has been set), here what I plan: Start: 83 summoning Use peng points/effigies and if you're confident you can stash in crims easily, make granits lobster pouches. Arrive at 85 summoning Now you'll need crims (about 1.7k in case of exp weekend, 4k+ if normal training), forget about greens tbh, too much money for too low exp gains. You'll be making swamp titans till 89 or 95. Arrive at 89 summoning Now put your blue charms to use making geyser titans (highest blue charm familiar and therefore best investment for blue charms). Using the double exp weekend, let's say you should and strive for 2.2k blue charms (sources: armoured zombies/TDS/slayer). They'll get you from 89 to 95 summoning using the double exp weekend. The water talismans are gonna take abite out of your budget though. Arrive at 95 summoning Iron titans all the way, try to obtain 6k-7k crims, buy iron bodies now, since they buy in shifts of 100 every 4 hours (correct?). If you seek for an enjoyable minigame as a distraction try doing Temple Trekking for talon charms which you will use first as the double exp weekend would start. You can choose between hardened companions on hardest route (good money, but only 3 talons if you get nail beast event), or easiest on easiest route (less money but if you get nail beast event, you'll get 5 instead of 3). Other variants are possible, but those are the extremes (the weaker the companion, the more monsters at each event). Downside of it all: we have no idea when double exp weekend will occur.
  23. Don't need Kyatt imo. I did Nomad around your levels, I just hugged the pillar. I let him attack me and get myself a few hits against him with diamond(e), move back to restore with brews, end with a sup restore sip go back out for some more hits. Worked fine. If you plan to have a familiar attacking Nomad you're better off with some other one than a Kyatt.
  24. This, personally I like like RS and don't tend into pitfalls like grinding skills (allthough I'm definitely nolifing some right now, but then I don't have to do 'em later). I study and achieve good results in real life, during exams I'm able to block off RS entirely for a long period, cause I want to grow in my capabalities, and live up to what fascinates me. But I like to have my times where I can find pleasure and just do nothing, which happens to be playing RS right now. Games are not a crime peopl, neither are movies, radio, ... People simply have a need to do pleasurable things in life, if RS is pleasurable to you and doesn't mess up your real life, you shouldn't quit or feel guilty.
