  1. Heh, this morning I was thinking about superpowers. I decided that having awesome vision, as in being able to see through anything, and see anything far, far away, would be well...Awesome. I may be making things up, but sometimes when I read a book, it'll seem like I'll have already read a page or two. And no, not with a book I've read before. I highly doubt I'm some sort of prophet, so the only logical explanation I can think of is that when I flip through the book (I do that sometimes, just to see how much is left), I subconsciously scan the page and store the information in my mind, and then when I read it later, I recall that information, and it seems like I already know it. But that doesn't sound so realistic, does it? So I suppose we're back to square one - I'm making things up. As for "regular" memory, I suppose I'm alright. I can probably play The Lord of the Rings movies forward and backward in my mind, but that's because I've watched them something like 20 times. I had memorized the elements in order of their atomic number, but that's because I spent hours staring at a periodic table. Nothing compared to the people I know who can tell you baseball scores from years ago. (Though I know that game 3 of the 2004 ALCS was 19-8, Yankees beating the Red Sox...) Other "superpowers"? I think someone once posted a video here about a guy who could withstand rather cold temperatures. That was pretty cool. (...WHAT A PUN #-o )

Keep tap jump off, it gives you more control. And Utilt is a great move for some characters. Like Dedede. ...I don't know why I'm still reading this thread.
  3. I'd say the math on the SAT is pretty easy (compared to what it should be). It's basically the equivalent of the Math I subject test, which my school recommends you take after your freshmen year. Speaking of which, I should get around to that... I hate how these tests focus so much on English. Anything else, I'm fine with. But English...Damn it. If I'm lucky, when I take the SAT, I'll get something like 800 on the math and 400 on the other two. :|
  4. Oh come on guys, stop bashing religion. Yes, most people who oppose homosexual marriage are religious, and yes, a lot of religious people oppose homosexual marriage, but there are those liberal Christians (and Muslims and Jews and whatever) like me out there. Part of me dies every time someone says something along the lines of "OH NO RELIGION SUCKS" because some guy who has the same central beliefs that I do is annoying the crap out of you. If I remember correctly, Maine and New Hampshire also have similar bills waiting to be passed. So what is it now - 3 out of 50, perhaps 6 soon? Over 10%, finally.
  5. Yea, I stick with the original Chapstick. My skin starts acting up when it gets a tad dry, as do my lips. And of course, winters in New England can be pretty brutal. Never used Burt's Bees though.

Card games can be great. Big Two is a favorite in my youth group, being Asian and all. Anyway. I was on a car for like three hours today, I spent a good deal of it playing Hold 'Em on my Zune. I suck more than I thought. :P
  7. Anything else replaced? If not, this is rather lame. :|
  8. Uh, actually, we have models that help us conceptualise objects in four spatial dimensions. But we can only visualize in 2D, even with depth, the same concept as to why he was asking the question rather than why it does or doesn't exist. Isn't a shadow 2D? Or does that not count? Or am I wrong? I remember trying to visualize a 1D object when I was reading the sequels to Ender's Game. I think there was something about it in there. Anyway, I failed, of course.
  9. To make people think that it is a harmless prank but it is very dangerous and can steal passwords and credit card numbers. :( So why doesn't he unleash it on a day when absolutely no one can expect anything to happen. Say August 23rd? Can you expect anything to happen on August 23rd? Dude. August 23rd is my birthday. :? And yes, Microsoft is offering 250k as a reward if you can find the creator. Another article about it here.

Speaking of grandparents, my mom's mom turned 80 last weekend. My mom went back to Taiwan for a week, it turned out to be quite a strange week. I think we only had Chinese food once, and we washed the dishes and did the laundry every few days. I get to stay at home today until noon because the sophomores are taking the statewide standardized test. \
  11. As long as you aren't an annoying jerk (and you don't seem to be one, from your posts), and you aren't moving to the middle of nowhere (I do have my doubts about NC...), you should be fine. Chances are, there'll at least be one person like you. Most likely more. At my school, I suppose most people are pretty nice, but one of my friends moved here in the middle of the year, and he's pretty popular now. Just make it clear what you enjoy doing and meet people. But don't try too hard to make friends. That usually fails.
  12. So did I. I'm not sure which would be worse - that, or the reality.
  13. You could always try [violent] video games. They're distracting, killing imaginary people is fun and no one gets hurt.
  14. Speaking of milk, regular milk in Taiwan sucks, if you can even find it. Fruit-flavored milk. Yum. (And I don't think I've ever seen a gallon of milk there. Strange)
  15. Yet criticizing atheism and whatnot is perfectly fine, I suppose?
  16. I'm a bit confused as to why I didn't pick the Spartans, Sparta ftw. Anyway. Go UNC. My last hope. ;)
  17. Well, I guess the Blue Penguins are in.
  18. Who knows. I wonder how old the real father is. Any reports yet?
  19. Wow. Just wow. Pitt-Nova was intense. Pittsburgh down by four with less than a minute, ends up tying it with like 5 secs left. Then Villanova scores with .5 left, and the dude from Pittsburgh who threw the ball actually hit backboard. Wow.
  20. The one on MLB.com is pretty good, I used it two years ago (forgot last year). I suppose I could try again this year. Kind of lost interest in baseball though.
  21. The case has been made already for those that simply can't, there's just no time between working to pay it off and actual schoolwork. 20 minutes a day is too much? Look at you guys you are complaining about not having time and you have characters with thousands of hours put into them. When I see someone argue that they work 30 hours 3+ jobs go to school full time and don't have available time for this I can see how that might be true. But the second I glance down and see they have a singe skill above 40 I know they are whining without cause. I'm kind of on the line on this one. Everyone I know (high school and college students, in a variety of grades and at different levels) has at least two free hours a week. However, if they only have two free hours, and they have to spend those two hours doing community service, then well, they're mostly likely screwed. Quite a few schools in this area already require community service, so it wouldn't be too bad. Not to mention, yes, at least it isn't conscription...
  22. Really though, there's been like 3 real upsets this year... :| My bracket is pretty screwed right now. Only half of my elite eight have made it, maybe even one more out tonight...
  23. Yeah, I heard yesterday. And FF is one of the few download sites I actually like using. :(
  24. Heh, I can't eat breakfast neither. There goes the "Most important meal of the day". I haven't eaten breakfast since 3rd grade... ...And when I go to the nurse at school (stomachaches), they ask me if I ate breakfast, I say no, and then insist on shoving food down my throat. -.-
